I knew I had read this somewhere….
Seems they offered him a rather long deal (5 yrs). I know it doesn’t say if he took it or not, but I think it likely that he will live into season 3.*please note that all my instance that Rumple is not going to die comes from a very scared place because he’s my favorite and if he dies…oh boy….*

As for not killing off series regulars…they killed off series regulars left and right on Lost and OUaT may not be Lost but since they’ve done it before I don’t think it can be ruled out because they’ve proven they are not afraid to do it…with that being said, personally I think the original five are probably safe along with Henry…leaning toward Cora unless this winds up being like the Archie thing and we find out that whoever dies isn’t really dead in some sort of twist.
Sure, LOST did do that. But they kept their core, the characters that were the most important to the entire story: Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, Locke (ok ok ok, I know. Locke technically doesn’t survive the entire series…) and when they did kill a seriously major character it was 1)because they had told all the story that there was to tell (Charlie) and 2) it was almost the end of the series (Sayid, Jin and Sun)

KeymasterI think I’ve said this a few times now but if it’s the death of a series regular (Regina, Rumple or even Hook) I don’t think it’s going to last. If NealFire is also NealFire Pan (or even a Lost Boy and if Tamra is Tink) then there is NO WAY they’re killing Hook. Far too much story potential. They won’t kill Regina because she needs a redemption story that is more than just one moment of self sacrifice. They won’t kill Rumple because he just found Bae and if Belle starts to remember soon then there are 1000 stories that need to be shown with just those two, plus let’s not forget the Blue Fairy and any possible connection there.
The writers are smart. And they aren’t just writing a show, they’re trying to write a successful show. They know that a large portion of their audience is enamored with Regina and Rumple and they won’t risk losing their fans. Same with Hook and even Belle because I don’t think they predicted the crazyness that sprung up around Rumbelle after Skin Deep.
Because this is Cora’s story and because there is one episode before Miller’s Daughter (The Queen is Dead) which gives them an opportunity to have Cora explain some of what she wants with SB or with the dagger or even her end game, my money is still on Cora."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"February 22, 2013 at 11:03 pm in reply to: Major Death in The Miller’s Daughter is teased!!! #174942RumplesGirl
KeymasterThe Granny theory is very interesting, but I wonder who kills her. Cora and Granny haven’t had any interaction as far we know. So is it Regina? Granny was on Team Charming in the war to take back the kingdom.

KeymasterThe Rumple one breaks my heart. He’s so sad after last episode. I know a lot of it is his own doing, but Manhattan made me even more sympathetic to him. As if I wasn’t already a major fan….

I’m not pro this theory but I just thought of something…
In the Disney Beauty and the Beast, Belle doesn’t break the curse until the Beast is dying. So perhaps a near death experience is on the way for Rumple regardless of the character that actually dies.
Yeah this theory has been thrown around a lot. I’m a big believer in it, but not for this episode only because Rumbelle can’t get back together in one episode. I think it’s going to stretch out a bit longer.

I think it will be Cora. I’ve been speculating that she wouldn’t make it to the season finale, and that the rest of the season will deal with Greg and the outside world. I think Regina will kill Cora, hopefully by crushing her heart (once she finds it…)
If Cora was gone they would definitely have to refocus and have a bigger threat…Hook just doesn’t fit the bill…really not a lot of damage a pirate can do in comparison to someone who wields magic like Cora. A threat from the outside world could be more dangerous. The only problem I have with Cora being the one the die is that it feels like a dropped plot…it they don’t explain it…what did she want with the magic beans Anton was supposed to grow. When they brought that up I thought it would probably fit into the season 2 finale somehow.
I agree. There would have to be some serious wrapping up before the actual death. Like the magic beans, the location of her heart (if it it on Hook’s ship then where was it before), if she’s been to other worlds other than WL (she told Hook she’s been to too many lands to give up [after Emma got the magic compass]) and to me that wasn’t a throw away line. I just can’t seem them killing a MAJOR character (like a staring role, not a guest role), at least not for good. If it is Regina or Rumple then it won’t last long because the writers aren’t stupid. They know the EQ and Rumple are two of the big reasons people watch this show (don’t get me wrong, I love Snow and Emma and Charming, ect but this show does villains so well) and that the stories left to tell about them could go on forever. So, I still say Cora.

KeymasterThe Rumple one makes me cry. He’s just so hurt but knows it’s his fault. I really hope Bae’s rejection of him is a major turning point.

KeymasterI know Rumple would be really shocking if it was him, but I very much doubt it. RC/Rumple is a huge part of this show, so if it did happen I could only see it being very temporary (like one episode)

Let’s hope so. I really am growing tired of how much manipulation Cora gets away with, and I want Regina to open up her pretty eyes and face her mother once and for all. I hope the reason for Regina killing Cora is to protect Henry. I can envision a scenario in which Cora has the knife to control the Dark One, she will use it to try and harm Henry, but Regina will intervene by destroying the Dark One’s knife, thus saving Henry and ultimately undoing the Dark One’s curse.
I’ve been trying to figure out who Cora will want Rumple to kill first: Henry or Belle. I think these are the two most likely possibilities because I think her first goal is to really hurt Rumple.
