My problem with the BF is that she seems completely useless, even in FTL.

Who knows what Rumple might get up to while she was away, and God forbid she got trapped in another world somehow.

Like manipulating Regina into casting the Dark Curse and transplanting the inhabitants of FTL to our world? Where was she the entire time this was happening? Why didn’t she interfere? So maybe she was “off world” so to speak. Maybe she’s Glinda and Tinkerbell and any other fairy we can come up with and because she was so busy doing other things she didn’t notice what Rumple was doing until it was too late.

It’s undoubtedly to show which son is the favourite and which one is clearly not, but I remain suspicious about their choice of that particular heirloom, because they could have made it any number of things, but they made it a freaking pocket watch. A show about fairytales and storybooks, where they’ve already shown us Wonderland, and they make a pocket watch a significant heirloom to one of the families. A family where we’ve seen one of the members jump between worlds. And they show it being handed to a guy dressed in white. I’m just sayin’, suspicious. 😉

I agree. This show tends to not be random. If he gave him that pocket watch, and the camera focused on it, and then on how Viktor reacted to it…it’s important. Either it will come into play just for Viktor (maybe he still carries it as a reminder of his brother and his attempt to bring him back) OR we just met the freaking White Rabbit (every time I watch that scene, I am struck that everyone is wearing black EXCEPT Gerherdt. And it’s not just because he is in his military uniform, so is the PapaFrakenstein, and it’s black). Has anyone seen SyFy’s miniseries “Alice?” In it, the White Rabbit is the name of the Queen’s military/spy organization. Their job is to abduct people from the “real” world and when he fails the QoH has him executed. Anyone know if Cora was spotted in the black and white land of the past???

Let’s say he is Oz, and I’m really liking the evidence in light of his “Barrett’s” name being revealed….there are some other characters from the story who could potentially fit right in. We know Cora has been to many worlds, she told Hook that yet all we’ve seen is her in FTL and WL. I feel it is quite possible that she traveled to Oz and maybe struck an alliance with the Wizard, making her in some way the Wicked Witch of the West (would love to see a map on this show telling where the kingdoms are in relation to one another). The deal is Cora will help the Wizard get home but then whenever Cora makes it to our world, he must be at her beck and call. Might explain why he was traveling so late at night in Maine. Following this, is it possible that the Blue Fairy (as loathe as I am to want to say this…) might be our Glinda the Good Fairy? Except that instead of stopping Cora, her only role was to help Dorothy.

Ethan Embry has been given a full name. It is Greg Mendell. Here is a link with the credits. http://onceuponatime-fans.com/

So Barrett was a fake name to throw us off. Most likely used because of David Barrett, one of the show’s directors.

So that's really odd. The first thing that came to mind is the father of genetics, Gregor Mendel. But why in the world would they be naming this guy after him??

A case of mistaken identity. That’s…odd. So, Anton thinks Charming is James. Was James part of Jack the Giant Killer’s army? Was James Jack the Giant Killer?

I just thought on something: what if Cora impersonates Belle? I mean, I think Rumple is so heartbroken that he may believe it, even if just for some seconds, like the mermaid that pretended to be Snow, in “What Happened to Frederick”.

Oh please let that be what is happening!!! If just for a fraction of a second Rumple forgets it’s really Cora…I would be ok with that.

It does feel like the writers are purposely crushing all the rumbelle hearts out there but then, I remind myself, that this show loves to give us twists and turns, so for the moment, I’m inclined to think it’s some kind of spell or a dream where Cora kisses Rumpelstiltskin.

    I’m going with dream sequence.

Does anyone watch Supernatural? Deal between mortals and demons are often sealed with a kiss. Right before the kiss clip, they are seen calling a truce. The only problem is that we’ve never seen Rumple kiss anyone when making a deal before.

Yes, I noticed that too. And they appear to have a Christmas tree up. They shouldn’t have Christmas in alternate, magical realms, should they? Hmmm.

Yet another very valid point. It’s either a dramatic thing to make the sadness of PapaFrankenstein being mean to Viktor more poignant, over a holiday and all, OR we’re looking at weird time travel Twilight Zone pocket Earth Universe. *head desk*

That’s odd. Unless “earth” is just being used as a world for any land mass. But I do wish he had said the name of his land instead since we don’t have a proper name for it….

I wonder if Whale is the elder of the two brothers. Heirlooms are sometimes given to the eldest son, espeically if it needs to be kept in the family like PapaFrankenstein (who might Cora’s male counterpart the way he treats his son..) said it was.
