KeymasterYeah….I still feel like it would be a “big” reveal but not really a big reveal given that he’s been on the periphery at best. I mean, after watching the video it’s probably the Sheriff Guy but wow is that a let down.
So we have 4 episodes left and we need centrics for Blair, Jessie, Garret and I guess the Sheriff will likely factor into the final flashback to “explain it all” for the audience.
I mean, at the end of the day, the woman did have the mask in her closet.
Yeah exactly. It’s like the writers knew we’d think it was Deb and decided to lead you down that rabbit hole only to then do a 180 and go “no! it was this guy that none of you even guessed because of how non existent he was! muahaha!”
Given Eddy and Adam’s recent comments about needing to change things once the audience starts guessing correctly over on OUAT, I guess I’m not surprised.

KeymasterProbably has more to do with the actual book than as a LOST reference:
Ahhhh. See I could never see the title of the book whenever Deb held it up. That makes more sense.
The sheriff also seems like the type of guy whoās been a ātownieā for quite some time. Heās also been very stand-offish with Garrettās investigations.
Maybe. Not sure how I feel about that given that he’s had no development, no connection to anything except as Garrett’s superior.

–I don’t understand. Outside of the obvious extra textual LOST reference, why did Keith and Deb call themselves the Dharma Bums??
–Ouija scene was actually pretty cool. Amy is far more interesting possessed by a spirit than her normal utterly bland self.
–Did Keith REALLY just vanish into a puff of smoke. Oooof. Heavy handed much?
–It seemed pretty obvious Keith was dead in present day (wearing the same clothes is always a dead give away, pun intended) but Deb’s overall story is both interesting and not. Okay, so it’s not wholly about a guy (but close enough and even then it’s a guy/romantic other who gives her direction instead of her controlling her own story/destiny) but supposedly, Deb’s story is about her finally becoming what she’s supposed to be…which is what exactly? Like what is she supposed to be? How is helping these kids fulfilling some sort of destiny or mission? We might know why she reopened Camp Stillwater now but we’re no closer to learning anything mythologically important about whatever the heck is going on.
–Who’s in the mask and helping the bad guys? It seems fairly obvious it’s going to be a Counselor but which one? Not Jessie since she was with Garret at the time. Possessed!Amy has my vote.

KeymasterOne thing to not forget, this interview was done when they only had one script written and we all know that they change things, they even said that, remenber Robin hood dark past, so from this i can make that they dont know half of this answers and they say most maybes, to avoid giving real answers and they can always say to fans that they never said yes and is not their problem if they thought maybe means yes. And most of these questions depends if this would be last season or not, for example wedding.
What do you mean when only one script was done? We already had the first three scripts and their titles appear before this hotseat.
The call for questions went out to Twitter several weeks ago, though. I don’t remember exactly when but the questions for this hot seat were sent in when Natalie put out the tweet.

KeymasterIs magic itself an entity with its own agenda?
HOROWITZ: Yes, no, and maybe.
KITSIS: That literally just gave me a flashback. Are my hands moving?
HOROWITZ: In all seriousness, magic has so many different properties in the way we approach it in this show, to try to intellectualize it is not what we want to do. We do want it to be something that has a mystical thing to it.
KITSIS: But we can say the Force is strong.
Are they kidding??? It’s not a matter of intellectuzlizing it. It’s a matter of having it be consistent and make sense in the world they created. Come on now.

KeymasterI think the idea of there being multiple saviors actually makes sense. In the real world, havenāt there been many different saviors that were thought to have existed throughout history, depending upon various religious beliefs and whatnot? Jesus is the obvious one that comes to mind, but thereās also Muhammad, Buddha, Prometheus, Osiris, Thor, and countless others. So Emma not being the only savior ever doesnāt sound so far-fetched.
Well yes but like I said above those are universal constructs/ archetypes that don’t have a set in stone recipe like Emma did. That’s my issue. Of course there can be many heroes/savior figures but they’ve already given a certain formula for Emma’s own saviorhood.
ETA: I can see them explaining it with something like “every land has a different set of rules/formula in creating a savior” (except that Agrabah is in the EF, per Jane)

KeymasterSo I canāt say they wonāt make a mess of thisā¦like the dark one mythology. Ā But just because there are other saviors doesnāt diminish Emmaās character or who she is and what she stands for in the least bit for me.
Other saviors doesn’t worry me IF we hadn’t been told that Saviors are made a certain way (ie: The truest of true love + Rumple’s putting a drop of that on the Dark Curse Scroll). Like, if that’s the recipe for a Savior then I don’t get how anyone else in recent history can fit that bill

KeymasterBut we still have Jane Espenson in the writersā room offering a non-traditional POV. I also go back to what Adam tweeted once in S3 about some people being right for you, some people being wrong for you, and others people you just choose. At the time, it seemed like he was talking about Emma choosing to go with Henry over Hook or Neal at the end of S3a, but now Iām wondering if thereās more to it.
Sure. But I’m not so convinced that Jane is doing all that much to offer perspective given that her episodes do have CS Ā heavy moments (she wrote Firebird in which they were, granted oddly, declared TL, something reiterated at SDCC and other interviews).
If Regina is the person Emma chooses, I’m also not convinced it’s in a romantic way. She does keep choosing Regina (she saves Regina, she protects Regina, she defends Regina) but she also keeps lip locking and declaring love for the pirate.
The writers want to have and eat their cake; they want the push CS Ā (probably per the mandate of ABC) but they want to push SQ as well because 1) vocal fanbase 2) both Emma and Regina are two of the more complex individuals on the show. So they bait the living daylights out of SQ (show) but tell speak only of CS/OQ (tell).
Show, don’t tell. And I think that’s as much SQ as we’re likely to get.
