Speaking of all magic coming with a price, why haven’t any of the other characters paid a price? What about the fairies? They’re just as powerful as Rumpel and Regina. Possibly even more so. Especially the Blue Fairy. So, why haven’t they paid a price? If ALL magic comes with a price, then why haven’t they paid? Hmm…maybe the writers will show us their backstory in season 2.
Have we ever heard anyone besides Rumple and Regina say that all magic comes with a price? Because it could be that their magic, the “evil” or “dark” magic, always has to pay a price whereas the fairies who are supposed to be the “good” magic (all terms which are wholly subjective and I have my issue with that Blue Fairy…) never have to pay a price since their magic isn’t self interested?

KeymasterMy predictions are three central stories:
1) Rumple and Belle’s grand search for Bae across time and space! This can be any realm, any time, any place. Nonnie: I really like your idea about Mulan in China. So long as there is a talking lizard (travel sized for Mulan’s connivence because if he was his real size her “cow” would die of fright)2) Storybrook good guys vs. Regina. I’m betting Regina has got her powers back and it’s all out war with Emma leading the charge for the good guys! (which side will Doctor Whale be on…) We will also meet new FTL characters here and their stories will sometimes take away from what SW and Charming are doing in FTL before the curse.
3) Snow White and Charming’s war against Regina and George in FTL.
The season ends with Regina, if not fully defeated, then humbled, SW and Charming having taken back both kingdoms and planning their wedding, and Rumple/Belle/Bae retuning to Storybrook ready to take everyone home. Only problem: first they have to kill Emma.

Yeah, I don’t buy it. Somehow his endgame is more than just getting back with Bae. Those type of people there is always the next time I’ll do it or one mission or one more hit and I’ll quit. They want their cake and eat it too and then some. If he actually meets Bae right nbow I’m not sure if he’d believe it. He was fooled once and he’s not the type that’s easily fooled many times.
I think his overall end game is to find Bae and then get everyone back to FTL. And as far as not believing Bae if he did find him…maybe he’ll work some magic (since apparently magic came to SB) like he did for Charming to find SW with the ring? I think that Rumple feels he NEEDS the magic to find Bae and take everyone home (although I get the sinking feeling that the latter somehow involves killing Emma).

KeymasterI hate to bring this up because everyone is saying they don’t want Bae to be dead and I love the actor who plays Bae (he is incredibly talented for such a young actor) but with all the “Bae is dead” talk it would actually be a brilliant plot twist and the ultimate “All magic comes with a price” payment for Rumple.
I think this is a really good point. Has Rumple really ever had to “pay” for any of the magic he’s done? For refusing to give it up, yes, he lost both Bae and Belle but for all the spells he’s cast or all the trouble (I’m going to say trouble because he can be a devious little imp) he’s caused, it doesn’t seem like he’s had to pay anything. He got what he wanted: to our world through his curse. It does follow that at some point he’s going to have to pay a price. And perhaps Regina saying that Henry shouldn’t have to pay the price for HER magic (and his reply of “no, you should but alas here we are…”) is actually a foreshadowing of Rumple having to pay for his magic.

KeymasterThe realtionships of Rumple will come down to a choice and I believe will be down to three has to pick: Power, Bae or Belle. The only way I can see him leave with 2 of 3 is if he gives up power but I do not see that happening anytime soon. Once a person gets power it is hard to give it up
I would agree that power is normally very hard to give up. And we’ve already seen Rumple refuse to give it up twice: once for Bae and once for Belle. But, today I was rewatching “The Return” and when Rumple thinks August is Bae, he gives August the knife and tells him to destroy it and that he chose his power once over Bae and he won’t make that mistake again. I think he’s ready to give up his power. Just as soon as he finds Bae. And now that he knows Belle is alive and has her, it’s not a matter of killing Rumple or controlling him with the dagger, Belle’s true love will cure him.

This is a totally off-the-wall theory, but I wonder if Rumpelstiltksin is trying to bring back Baelfire from the afterlife.
I think this is possible, I think Baelfire is already dead because he went to a land without magic centuries before the dark curse was enacted. At the very least, he’s going to be an adult.
Maybe but the past few episodes showed us that realm jumping is possible across space AND time. So Bae could have ended up in our world the same time as Emma and Pinocchio.

KeymasterMy issues with Doctor Whale is his name. It’s so specific. We know they like to play on the characters names and who they were in FTL (Red/Ruby works in a diner taking food to people). His last name being “Whale” is just so odd that I keep thinking it has to have something to do with his persona in FTL. And no one seems to know his first name, even MM who had that “fling” with him.

KeymasterOh Gosh. Just one thing???
Hmmmmmmm. I guess the most pressing matter to me is: why did Rumple bring magic to SB? I think it’s to find Bae and then somehow to take everyone home, but who knows!
As other things (sorry…I can’t do just one):
–does Emma have more work to do as the savior?
–August: alive, dead, alive wooden man?
–Who is the Queen of Hearts?
–Jefferson/Regina connection? (siblings? ex-lovers?) There’s something there…it’s almost palpable
–WHO THE HECK IS DOCTOR WHALE???!?? (this one really bothers me)"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"RumplesGirl
Keymasterhis rather large estate
I just read that in Rumple’s voice. There was even a giggle. 🙂
But I know what you mean. Hopefully…HOPEFULLY…Belle can get him to ease up a bit with the whole protection thing. But I do seem him trying to overly protect her since he’s got to be filled with guilt and remorse over thinking he had basically sent her to her death.

I was pleasantly surprised about how much screen time they had in the finale. All scenes were heartbreaking I still cant believe that happened. Now I guess Mr Gold will become Rumple again because he will have magic. I can see there will be a lot of problems with that relationship. Rumple being The dark one again for one, not to mention he nearly beat her father to death and if Belle ever finds out what happened to Gaston…But I just hope they will be together at the end. Best couple on the show
I was really surprised that we saw them together at all. I thought Belle’s one scene would be Jefferson telling her to find Gold. When she walked into that shop…. :’) I really hope Rumple isn’t going to go all “Dark One” on us cause now that he has Belle back, I kinda just need them to stay together for my sanity. (I have far too much invested in this couple).
