Keymaster“And who better to introduce the audience to that fiancé than the woman playing her big sister, Lana Parrilla in her directing debut
*tilts head to one side*
Nooooo. Zelena is the big sister, guys.

KeymasterForgot to mention: thought for sure A and E would write this one since it’s the 150th. Actually, it’s a little odd that they’ve barely written anything this season (at least stuff that they take full credit for, I’m sure they have a hand in all the episodes no matter which team of writers gets the final acknowledgment). They used to do premiere, middle, arc finale. Honestly, I’m a little suspicious that they’re held up somewhere writing 721/722 under the impression that it’s likely their series finale.

KeymasterCongrats to Lana! That’s very cool. This is the shows 150th episode, as well.
(Also, I must admit a bit of surprise given that seemingly one of the reasons JMo left was to pursue directing over acting)

KeymasterHansel and Gretel’s witch being one of the witches, if they are still doing that.
Yeah that would make sense; I’m sure they could get Emma Caulfield back for a brief appearance–she put in time back in 5B. And if not…they they’ll just “Cinderella” her and cast a whole new actress.

KeymasterWell my first thought was Hansel and Gretel but I don’t recall them being part of the new universe (though I suppose this could be like True North–a one off–but it seems a bit late in the game for that so probably not). Otherwise, no idea.

KeymasterSo it sounds like they’re being vague about it, and we probably really will have to wait until May. So much for a “Final Season” announcement.
Wow, I wasn’t actually expecting that sort of super vagueness. She barely acknowledges the low demos and suggests that people watching it after the fact is playing a part in all this.

KeymasterI wouldn’t be surprised if at least the veteran cast members pass on the opportunity to resign back on.
Totally. I think Bobby is 100% done and only came back for S7 because of this particular Rumple/Rumbelle storyline.
Don’t play mindgames with this “we may or may not do a Season 8” nonsense, like they did last year with Season 7.
Again, totally agree. A and E have said that they’ve planned for multiple seasons but I *really* need this show to have a proper ending and not something that feels incomplete.

KeymasterThe actors seem to be looking elsewhere. It is time.
If ABC doesn’t announce a cancellation at the TCA’s we’ll have to track some of the actors like Lana and Colin–if they appear to be going out for Pilot season (which is now beginning) well have our answer that way. The hard part will be telling if they are in LA to visit or to read scripts for pilots.

KeymasterThe only way that I can see OuaT getting an 8th season now is if it gets moved to Disney’s streaming platform that’s launching next year. There’s no way that ABC will renew it television
Honestly I don’t think I can see them renewing it for that platform either. I think ABC knows it’s time to call it an end and start with new content.
