KeymasterMight be kind of interesting if they split Snow and then Evil!Snow and the EQ team up to take down Good!Regina and Good!Snow

Keymaster3) They really haven’t given us much time or space to actually care about the characters is the problem. Which is an issue of writing but also the fact that it’s only a 10 episode summer series that has to tell a complete story of the mystery of Camp Stillwater.I don’t really get it. There are horror films that manage to make you care about characters in a 90-120 minutes runtime so a 10-episode series should be able to do it.
I guess. I see your point though there are some other factor like a horror movie has a certain atmosphere that a teen slasher show can’t convey; horror movies are viewed in one sitting and not spread out with different characters getting a focus each week. Also, horror movies tend to be actually scary. Dead of Summer isn’t in any way scary, though people have died already. It’s rather predictable to the point that even if the characters are in real danger and the stakes are high, you see the danger coming a mile away and already know it’ll be rather mild and watered down.
Maybe if the characters on the show were more nuanced we’d be more able to sympathize with them quickly. Like Cricket, center of this week’s episode….I have a lot in common with her in broad strokes but if she had died last night, I’d shrug and say “well, that’s what you get for jumping into a car with a total stranger who reeks of bad news.” Or Blair, for instance. His leading characteristic so far is that he’s flamboyantly gay and there’s nothing wrong with that but the writers, thus far, act like it’s all that defines him, there’s nothing else about him except his sexuality. Which is why I am *seriously* worried about what they do with Drew next week.
On another note, I still find Elizabeth Lail to be pretty dang annoying. There’s this presence to her on screen in this show that is so simpering and demure and meek. The guilt trip with the cookies she gave to Jessie was the first time she had any sort of personality.

KeymasterHyde and “Regina.” Yup, saw that coming.
Hygina? Evilyde?
I think it’s currently being called WardenQueen?

KeymasterWhat’s the subject matter in regards to Drew? How annoying is the one from Ugly Betty? From the sounds of it the characters are such a drag that when the killings inevitably start, you’re going to be rooting for the killer.
1) He’s transgender
2) That answer hasn’t changed since you asked last week. I don’t really find him annoying at all. He’s all manner of cliche but I found his friendship with Cricket to kinda nice.
3) They really haven’t given us much time or space to actually care about the characters is the problem. Which is an issue of writing but also the fact that it’s only a 10 episode summer series that has to tell a complete story of the mystery of Camp Stillwater.

KeymasterJust for a reference point, Chambliss and Horgan have written together before.
–The Apprentice (404); Rumple/Anna centric
–Poor Unfortunate Soul (415); Hook/Ursula centric
–Lily (419); Emma/Lily centric
–The Price (502); Snow/Regina/all over centric
–Labor of Love (513); Snow White centric

KeymasterI think the title could be referring to Jekyll’s serum.
Same. Someone else is going splitsville?

KeymasterSo that’s….random.
There is a famous newspaper drawing by the same name but I have no idea if it’s related.

America, a partly-draped female figure, is being held down by Lord Mansfield (r.) in judge’s wig and robes, while North, holding her by the throat, pours the contents of a tea-pot down her mouth. America ejects the tea in a stream directed at North’s face. From his pocket hangs a paper inscribed “Boston Port Bill”. Sandwich (l.) kneels, holding America down by an ankle, while he lifts the edge of her draperies and peers beneath them. Behind Mansfield (r.) stands Bute in Scots cap and kilt, holding a drawn sword, its blade inscribed “Military Law”, pistols are thrust through his belt. Behind America stands Britannia resting one hand on her shield; she averts her face and covers her eyes with her hand. Behind Sandwich (l.) stand two men dressed in the French and Spanish fashions and representing France and Spain or the monarchs of France and Spain; the order of the Golden Fleece hangs from the neck of Spain. They stand close together, pointing towards America with expressions of interest and concern.
In the foreground is a torn document inscribed “Boston petition”. In the background is the sea; on the horizon and on a minute scale are the spires of a town surrounded by ships, above is engraved, “Boston cannonaded”
Anyone got anything else?

Keymaster1) I doubt Amy’s dead too. I was thinking possession by the spirit of Tall Man.
2) Deb’s flirting with Joel is extremely weird.
3) I’m really worried about their story of Drew too. So far the flashbacks have been inoffensive but nothing earth shattering.

KeymasterWonder why Hook is giving Snow a sword.
