There is an awake fairy tale character that is out for revenge and starts to exact it in Seattle against people who have no idea what they’re up against,” Kitsis says, noting that said character “has a very specific target.”

    Isn’t this just Gothel?

Not necessarily important for OUAT’s fate but ABC has cancelled their new comedy “The Mayor.”

Despite an order for three back-up scripts, the Disney-owned broadcaster has opted to cancel the rookie political comedy. Four unaired episodes of the series remain and the comedy has been pulled off the air ahead of its January return, with ABC slotting Modern Family repeats for the time being. Producers ABC Studios will shop the comedy about an idealistic rapper (Brandon Micheal Hall) who runs for mayor and wins.

I’m going with Zelena centric (her life in San Fran) and the Coven tries to recruit Zelena in the present

Is anyone going to watch Alias Grace? Is the story as good as The Handmaid’s Tale?

    Quote

Dredging this back up, a month later…

I just finished the 6part miniseries “Alias Grace” on Netflix and *my god* was it good. I was enraptured for all six episodes and thought it was even better than the Handmaid’s Tale (a feat I didn’t think could happen given how much I loved the first season of tHT). I think tHT could actually benefit from Alias Grace’s shortened mini series season (I am terribly nervous about tHT having a second season given that they covered Atwood’s entire novella in the first…)

    100% recommended!

Yeah, I thought they meant actual Cupid at first. Based on the wording, I’m guessing actual Cupid will cause Regina to fall in love with someone else and maybe there’ll be a connection to her stealing his arrow last season in “Page 23.”

From the article writer, Matt M in the comment section:

The Cupid line was just a (supremely) clever intro (or “lede,” as we say in the biz). No character is being added.

The Winter TCAs are in a few weeks; OUAT’s panel is going to be on January 8th. If ABC wanted to make an announcement about S7 being the final one, they could potentially do it there. I’d hope they would announce it months ahead of time to ride out the hype of “the final season”

Since they aren’t giving anything away about this, I’m gonna go with a male character we’ve already met–like Nick.

The bit about how only the Doctor’s children know his name was oddly specific. I wonder if that’ll be a recurring plot point in the new season. It sounds “bigger” than just something Susan’s parent or Jenny might have known

Was he saying that only his children know his name or was the Doctor saying that only children–in general–know? I thought Moffat was making a statement there about how children are still capable of seeing magic and believing in fairy tales before they grow up into adults.

Anyone else watch the Christmas special?

–I think if I focus on the message and ignore parts of the plot, I like it a lot more. The plot was rather…Moffat-ish, by which I mean a bit much, too twisty. But the message behind the plot about memories and fairy tales was great and also felt Moffat-ish.

–The Twelfth Doctor and the First Doctor had great banter and I like 12 correcting 1 about some of those misogynistic tendencies of the 1960s but also think the bit ran a bit long.

–Even if I wasn’t her biggest fan, it was right that Clara got to come back for a goodbye. Ten said goodbye to all of his companions, Eleven saw Amy one more time.

–Making the Captain tied to the Brig was a smart way to go because up until that reveal, the Captain felt like a waste only designed to ensure the Doctor got to be a Christmas hero.

–I’m super excited for Jodie! But um…she appears to be falling to her demise!

–Peter Capaldi did a great job, per the usual. He never got the best material over the past three seasons, but he always did well with it. He has a real talent at delivering big speeches.

–Unnecessary Dalek was unnecessary as was the entire excursion to the center of the universe.

–“The universe generally fails to be a fairy tale. But that’s where we come in.” That’s it. That’s the show. Best line of the night and it shows, I think, that Moffat does know what Doctor Who is at the end of the day. It’s a fairy tale with a classic hero.
