KeymasterOh and by the way, are those scenes of Rumple and Felix amd the dagger scene from promos like the Merida promo or something?
Rumple and Felix scene was an actual scene from 301, shown at D23
The dagger scene was an actual scene from 501, shown at D23
The Merida “promo” was a teaser to inform the audience that Merida was coming in s5A (the same with the Hook promo in S2 and Ariel promo in S3) —all of which were shown at SDCC before their respective seasons.

Keymaster“Following an encounter with a monster from Indian Hill, Ivy Pepper finds herself reborn, and one step closer to the DC villain she is destined to become: Poison Ivy. Now a 19-year-old woman who’s harnessed the full power of her charms, she sets her sights on Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz).”
That doesn’t make a lick of sense unless they are doing a massive time jump. Like, several years.
I’ve been meaning to answer @darkonedearie about why I find this rapid age up and sexualization of Ivy in Gotham to be disturbing so I’ll do it now. You’re absolutely correct that Ivy is heavily sexualized in the comics (and whether continuing that portrayal is okay given how far culture and society have come since the first publications of Batman is a debate for another day….)
What this says about the show and the writers is that they can’t think of any other storyline for this young girl (who has only ever been mostly background fodder) than to make her into a sexual object. Like, is there really nothing else they could write to help explain how this child interacts with the world that causes her to become Ivy from comic lore other than to turn her into a sexual being? It’s like…women can only become fully realized and given narrative weight if it somehow ties to their sexuality and how men (a show written by men, based on comics written by men…) view women.

KeymasterMy guess is they’ll tease Aladdin or Tiana. Both characters were still on A&E’s wishlist, when asked in an interview a few months back.
What about Hunchback? Isn’t the anniversary this year? I was thinking they’d do an episode in honor of that (called Outcasts….)

KeymasterThis year SDCC will be held July 21-24. If history is any guide, OUAT’s panel will be on Saturday around 1-2pm EST (which is 11am Pacific Time). We’ll discuss more on how that day works when we get to it, but regulars and long time visitors will know that Matt and I try to handle as much of this as possible to make sure we get the best spoilers as quickly as we can. Until the actual day, of course feel free to speculate, post news and pre-SDCC stuff here!

KeymasterIt might also be like how (even though we didn’t see it) Sneezy got his memories back in season 3 and how Regina changed Sneezy back from stone in ep 2 of S5. What’s your excuse
Could they do that? Sure. Do I think they will? No.
And you really (really) need to stop this incredibly aggressive responses to people. You’ve been warned many times.
And what’s what’s that suppose to mean by you saying maybe 6th tier?
It means that in the broad scope of the narrative, Dopey has no important storylines and adds nothing to the actual plot lines except as canon fodder–ie: being one of the dwareves who is only there because the dwarves are always linked to Snow White, a first tier character with meaningful plot, storyline, and overall importance to the narrative.
First tier characters would be those that influence the show and without whom the story would falter drastically: Emma, Snow, Regina, Rumple, ect.
Secondary and Tertiary characters can exit the narrative for periods of time (long and short) and not impact the story a ton but can always easily be written back in because they’ve been given weight and narrative previously: Red, Mulan, Aurora, Whale, Grumpy, ect.
Characters below 2 and 3rd are those who have never influenced the narrative, never been given any sort of narrative weight or importance except to fill out a scene: nameless peasants, roles that do not speak, and those who simply stand in the background as part of the “town”

KeymasterOkay. That trailer is flipping AMAZING.

KeymasterThis is like how they left a climax for Lily when she was left to search for her father and we won’t be seeing it until probably this coming season. It is also like when we were wondering where Red was in season 4 until revealed for season 5, especially for Mulan.
No. There is a major difference. Dopey is a character who has never had a centric, never spoken, or never been given any sort of storyline outside of being “one of the dwarves.” Lily, Red and Mulan were all given those things (centrics, lines, plot) Dopey never had (even if it’s a shared centric, in that case). Lily, Red, and Mulan might be secondary and tertiary characters, but Dopey is incredibly far below. Like maybe 6th tier.

KeymasterIt’s also suspicious that they left Dopey as a tree for the entire Season without freeing him.
Agreed. He’s a tree forever now I guess.
