I’d guess that he gave up something to free Alice from the tower and that something made him golden again.
The problem with that is that Alice ran up to Rumple the moment he stepped foot into the New!EF. In other words, she was free from the tower already, unless it was only temporary freedom??? But why would it be Rumple who could free Alice from the tower as opposed to either her father, Hook, or her true love, Robyn?

I can’t figure out what Disney Lore means. I assume it means Mal, Ursula, Cruella, and basically any big bad lady from Disney classic films, most of whom have been featured at some point over the past six years. But there’s also the report that they are bringing in a character from the Haunted Mansion attraction which hopefully means they’re expanding their lens outside of classic fairy tale cartoons. I just don’t know if there are seven non-movie witches to be had?

Um no. Location = / = new show. Your show–meaning character motivations, themes, motifs, symbols, and mythology–should be pretty consistent even in the face of a new location. That’s called writing.

If that’s true, then that’s fine but I wish they’d make it text. Henry introduces Tiger Lily as an old friend instead of “this is your fairy godmother.”

It’s been eight years for Henry and his crew but they are transported to 2015 HH, meaning it’s only been a few weeks/months for Emma and company?

This was of course the Winter finale, so these are the last ratings we’ll get to see until the show returns on March 2nd.
It’ll be pretty interesting to see how the show returns in March.

That’s what I thought they might do. So they could have New!EF Maleficent and cast an entirely new actress like they did with Alice and Ella.
