Alright, I’ll play. How about two from every season?
SEASON ONE
–Emma breaks the Curse by kissing Henry
–Rumple smashes the Dark One’s castle with his cane after Belle’s TLK; while Gold beats Moe in SB.
SEASON TWO
–Nealfire and Rumple’s three minute conversation in Manhattan (my all time favorite moment in the entire series)
–Neal tells Emma not to let Henry grow up like they did before he and Emma say “ILY” to each other.
SEASON THREE
–Neal breaks free of Rumple to send a message to Hook to find Emma; a hero until the end.
–Snow and Charming saying goodbye to Emma at the townline before Regina undid her curse.
SEASON FOUR
–All the hilarity of “Shattered Sight”
–Evil Snow and Charming of the “Heroes and Villains” book
SEASON FIVE
–Neal and Emma meet in the bug before the heroes get to the Underworld
–Hades declares to Zelena that the Underworld could be “our decay”
SEASON SIX
–Emma’s song in the musical episode
–Snow and Charming’s song in the musical episode
SEASON SEVEN (so far, might change after the series finale)
–Rumple throwing the dagger to the ground after Belle tells him she wants to build a home without magic
–Henry’s essay to Regina as he gets ready to leave home.

It’s always possible that they’ll pull a soap opera trick but as you pointed out, I don’t think they have time for any big twisty turns. I think the fight against Wish Rumple is going to be a lot more Regina trying to get through to Wish Henry, Henry having a change of heart, undoing what he wrote, and then some quick final stand against Wish Rumple.
As for Rumple’s impending death…I want to see how it plays out because I agree that him being mortal again only to kill himself is obscene(and I railed against the writers at the end of 4A when Ingrid essentially killed herself to be reunited with her sisters). I’ve heard a few things that suggest it goes in a different direction but…I wanna see how it plays out.

There has been no word officially yet. It’s going to come down to money and how much Sony is willing to shell out. I will say, the fan campaign to save the show and get it renewed is very vocal.
Also, the fact that NBC hasn’t said one way or the other is giving me some hope that they are really hammering out a deal for the show.
