Keymaster“And if it had been that simple, I think it just wouldn’t have been that interesting. So it needed to not be that simple and it sure wasn’t.”
Nope all we apparently need is a magical macguffin lightening bolty thing or miraculous growing ambrosia never before mentioned.

KeymasterAnyone else get the sinking feeling they’re killing off Robin because Regina and Zelena have now reconciled? Robin cannot very well continue to be a presence since the reminder of what Zelena did to him would always be a strain on Regina’s relationships with Robin and Zelena. Just last episode, Regina insisted Robin hand over his baby girl to the woman who raped him. *sigh*
Pretty much yes. They want to push the sister story but it would be awkward and almost impossible to maintain that sisterly affection with Robin around (for example: the current sneak peek) because there’s too much history and emotional baggage.

KeymasterAll of these duos/ships men started out “villains” that were really just “misunderstood bad boys” that could be “fixed” or “changed” by having women loving them. I just also wonder what kind of messages that is, intentionally or not, communicated with these stories, when considering the similar and/or different paths they have taken or are taking.
It’s not a message I am comfortable with, personally. Women aren’t saints and we aren’t the way to redemption for men, which more or less takes away our importance as individuals and agency with our own ambitions, struggles, joys and woes that has nothing to do with men, be they our fathers, brothers, husbands, or lovers. But, most people ’round this joint will tell you, I tend to see everything heavily skewed threw a feminist lens.
The other flip of this is that women on this show are redeemed via childbirth. Babies are apparently magical for women. It’s all we need to feel whole and be “complete.”

KeymasterGiven what has been revealed since this interview came out, pretty sure Emma is describing Regina as the Evil Queen (probably via the Jekyll/Hyde potion)

KeymasterI think Hades is a victim in the same sense that Zelena is–their perception of the way they were treated by their family (brother, mother) has made them cast themselves as victims in their own story (and this is just human nature; we tend to see ourselves as victims in our own stories when something is done to us that we feel is unwarranted or unjust or unfair). Does that mean that Zeus isn’t a bully of an older (twitch #badmythology) brother? No. But do I think Hades has probably cast his brother in more villainous terms in order to seem more sympathetic to the audience/Zelena/whoever he’s telling his story to? Yeah.
1. To get to the ambrosia tree, you had to have true love. Hades didn’t, his heart was frozen so there was no way he could pass the test to cut down the tree. 2. What would Hades gain from it? Since Zelena is now on good terms with Regina, it would only put Hades out of favour with her to deliberately trap Regina and the others. 3. Hades has talked about his brother in previous episodes. Whilst Hades was the villain, it made it sound like he was the bad guy and his brother the hero. But if you view it as Hades wasn’t such a bad guy but was cursed by his brother then you could see why he was a bit bitter about it.
These are all great questions that make me give some serious side-eye to the events of 520 but at the same time it could just be shoddy world building and writing. Goodness know it wouldnt be the first time it’s happened.

KeymasterI agree that it would hard to sustain an entire arc with Jekyll/Hyde as the Big Bad(s) but I think that’s why they are bringing back the Evil Queen in Regina (at Matt’s suggestion, through a potion that makes her transition between Regina and EQ like Jekyll does between himself and Hyde). And of course whatever is going on with Rumple, wherever he may be.

KeymasterThe name will be given by Regina, and it will be Robin. It’s just too easy.
Yup that, though I think Zelena and Regina will agree on the name Robin together.

KeymasterIs that just to show they both have the same features? Did both of them have a scar?
Yeah they both have the same scar. It’s a way to clue the audience in.
