KeymasterI was under the impression that they got the rights to Hook but they did not get the rights to Peter Pan right out of the gate in season 2. I believe they were separate and didn’t get Pan rights til the end of season 2. And Tamara and Greg didn’t stay around because they were reviewed by the fan base very poorly I thought. Correct me if I’m wrong though.
That was actually my impression as well. Because you can almost tell when they got the full green light for NVL S2—Ruby vanishes, Snow and Emma come back faster than they originally wanted, and Cora’s story ended pre-season-finale by quite a bit so that Tamara/Greg could come in more as part of the Home Office.
And yeah, GOAT (god, that’s an old acronym…) didn’t stay around because the critical and fan reaction was horrible.

KeymasterAnyone else feel like the show is going backwards—season wise at least? S5 (both A and B) had some serious S3A and B overtones and now S6A is set up like S2B. So is 6B going to look like 2A–maybe this time Charming and Emma get trapped in the EF and have to battle someone in order to get back home? There’s an awful lot of plot that got forsaken in 2 once NVL happened.
Could they be going back to the ideas they originally had for the end of Season 2 into Season 3, before Neverland got greenlit?
Maybe. Snow and Emma were supposed to be in the EF for longer; we had King George’s plot in SB that went nowhere fast; FrankenWolf (though that’s clearly over now); and they could flesh out the Home Office a bit more with some clever writing since Peter is now dead and the Lost Boys are…somewhere

KeymasterThat seems fairly likely. Not sure if I like it…but it seems likely. Rumple’s been doing it nonstop, Hook became the DO, so now it’s Regina’s turn.
When Robin’s death was first rumored, didn’t we theorize way back when that it could be so that the writers could find a way to bring back the Evil Queen? Looks like we’re revisiting that theory…
Yes we did; the end result is basically the same (EQ reutrns) but the plot-why is a bit different.

KeymasterIt’s funny because I’m the opposite. I agree more with RG about Gotham than I do with OUAT. Man did I like Barnes this week. And I’m pretty sure he isn’t dead…
Hilariously I almost responded to Jiminiy with “it’s the opposite of @thedarkonedearie so it all balances out…” 🙂

KeymasterAs I said in another thread, I don’t think Regina will become the Evil Queen again by choice. I highly suspect that she is somehow given Jekyll’s potion, and turns into the Evil Queen against her own will. I think the writers miss writing certain characters when they were evil, and can’t help but figure out ways to do so again in the present. We’ve seen them do so with Rumple countless times, and we even saw them do it with Hook at the end of 5A. However, they want to have their cake and eat it too. By using Jekyll’s potion, they aren’t necessarily going against Regina’s character development and long term redemption. This would be like the Spell of Shattered Sight again, but probably more long term. She could also transform back and forth, which could add a new dimension to this.

Keymaster^ Could it be the “Ale” of … Something, to communicate? SFG
That seems likely, yes.

KeymasterFor this upcoming week–episode 521–I expect us to be on the following:
1) returns/reunions: Hook/Emma and Hook
2) Deaths: Robin and Hades (maybe? depends on what they do to Hades)

KeymasterI have a secret fear that they are going to kill off Moe. I don’t know if I could forgive them for doing that after all the other torment they’ve put Belle through though.
Nah.

KeymasterAnd actually, now that I think of it, it’s really morphing in the last few season into some sort of merit badge. Who is gonna get a gold star on their relationship homework? This week, it’s Zelena and Hades! Oh and Rumbelle fails again — booh! Next week, it will be some other random new and shiny couple! What a truly vapid message.
True love in general has become some sort of goal and it’s what proves a couple as “valid.” Hence why shippers want to know when their couple–whoever it is–will be confirmed and get upset when it doesn’t happen with the big gold star that is TLK
