What if Hades was talking to Zeus, but Zeus kills Robin?

    Quote

For what purpose, though? The only thing we know of Zeus so far is what Hades has told us and he’s not exactly a reliable narrator.

    Your questions are pointless.

But 1) Hades said something about changing his mind and deciding to keep the heroes forever

    2) I guess Hades trapping the souls is like a backup plan? In case going topside didn’t work out?

There was a tiny spoiler a week ago that Regina and Robin team up to take someone down. I guess that’s Hades (though why Emma isn’t a part of that…?)

So Hades kills Robin; Regina goes full on EQ but either Emma won’t let Regina kill Hades OR Regina simply can’t (cosmic mandates) and in turn Emma kills Hades/banishes him to the Underworld forever/something so that Hades go away forever. Zelena, having lost true love, goes after Emma but Regina steps in and prevents Zelena from killing Emma by reminding Zelena that we’re all family now and we’ve all lost someone.

Funeral for Robin and Hook—but somehow Hook comes back at the very end of the episode.

I agree especially with the ambrosia because how would Hades have passed the test when he didn’t have true love until Zelena was there. I think we’re meant to believe it’s Hades when in fact it’s someone else.

This is quite intriguing. Was it confirmed that the magic the blind witch and cruella used to trap the others was from Hades? Because then that throws a wrench in this whole Hades is being framed thing.

Depends on how you define confirmed, I guess. Because usually when they have a major character (Regina in this case) explain something for the audience (this isn’t working because of this reason) it tends to be true. But, of course, the writers can roll over on that the following week by claiming that Regina was making a guess.

The reason I’m still not 100% sure of CS is (1) all the failed TLKs and (2) the failed heat split. Did those things fail because they don’t really have TL or what? It’s just cause for confusion.

    Quote

Right. The Confirmation is done in the clunkiest and weirdest way possible. It’s like the writers couldn’t fully commit to it (understandable) but they had to do *something* that looks like a confirmation in order to appease sect of the fandom.

So I think Hook can choose to stay in the underworld or move on,

Granted, I only half watched the CS scenes, but didn’t he basically say, “You shoulda let me go 20 times already,” and didn’t she say something like, “Don’t wait for me to come back for you, move on”? Because really, after a conversation like that, he shoulda gone directly to Mt Doom to move on. If he didn’t do that, and if he somehow comes back, then that exchange between them loses all its weight.

    Quote

This is something Daniel and I discussed last week: do souls know when it’s time to move on? Do they head to Mt Doom the second their unfinished business is finished? Hook tells Emma to let him go, shouldn’t he head straight for Mt Doom?

Actually. Is that how he is going to come back? Mt Doom decides (or whoever/whatever sits in judgement) that Hook’s sacrifice was “good enough” to grant him new life. So it’s not the worse place and it’s not the better place, it’s just actual resurrection.

Hey, he had six whole weeks to master all that :p

Dude. You know what I did in my first 6 weeks of ancient Greek? I sent a lot of goats to islands and Homer educated a lot of men (and brothers)…

One time Homer actually educated goats….though I’m pretty sure it was because his brother sent him the goats from an island…

    Anyway.

Agree that Royal Navy is the dumber of the two excuses.

As has been pointed out, she’s the savior, so it’s what she does. Since she actually is TL incarnate, it’s still not clear to me whether it was Emma’s true love for Hook that let her pass so much as it was her heart being made of her parents’ true love that let her pass.

Alas, even though one of these explanations actually makes sense, I do believe they intended the other one. I didn’t even watch the CS scenes properly because I knew they’d make me wanna puke. Played a game on my phone during every one of their scenes to distract me.

    Quote

Oh they intended the CS one, to be sure. It was done in a clunky and silly way that doesn’t make any logical sense and really does a number on Emma’s mythology…but once again the writers get around canonizing it with TLK which just feels so strangely deliberate. I mean, if there was a moment for CS TLK it was the final goodbye scene at the elevator but *still* no rainbows.

They’ve been canonized but in the most watered down, absurd, underwhelming way possible.

I would have appreciated it better if Hook had learned the letters with Belle while trying to free the fairies. That would have been a much better excuse, and would have actually made some sense.

    Quote

You mean Ancient Greek? Cause learning Greek letters in no way shape or form means you can translate ancient Greek, a really tricky language with 1000000000 endings and choice-specific words. Better excuse than the Royal Navy, to be sure, but still doesn’t make a lick of sense.

But how did Zeus get past? If they try to tell me that Zeus and Hera have true love, I’ll laugh until my sides hurt.
