KeymasterGENERAL: For an episode taking place in Wonderland there was little to no Alice! And the episode was much poorer for it. Honestly, most of this hour was just bad, apart from some clever one liners. Very disappointed with this one since I was really looking forward to an Alice adventure.
5.5/10
LIKED
–“I tend not to trust people who tie me up and drug me.”
–“This is Alice of Wonderland….and other places.”
–“I may not have magic here but I have a handy baseball bat!”
–“Oh that’s cute. You think I’m going to villain monologue for you?”
MIXED
–Drizella just stands there while a mirror falls on her instead of moving out of the way or using magic! But Alice was cool dropping the mirror on her.
–The Lucy/Jacinda moment at the house would be sweet if they hadn’t seen each other like every single episode?
DISLIKED
–Holy plot spaghetti, Batman! In the first ten seconds we learn that Alice is infected with some sort of dark magic inside her heart that prevents her and Hook from touching and apparently can transfer to other people?! I know exposition is coming but good lord that was a lot all of a sudden.
–Really? Henry is listening to a song called “Bizarre Love Triangle” when he meets Nick? *rolls eyes* That’s a little on the nose, even for OUAT.
–More unneeded plot spaghetti through exposition with Ella’s sad family tale. Show me Ella’s life, stop telling it to me! It’s not helping bolster her character.
–Honestly, the Ella/her mother/the curse stuff would be more powerful if Ella wasn’t such a drag of a character (also if they would SHOW us this stuff!)
–Curse of the Poisoned Heart. Okay then, sure.
–How is Drizella already a powerful sorceress, capable of casting curses, and leading people down rabbit holes when it was literally YESTERDAY (for the characters) that Drizella killed the Prince???!
–Instead of falling in love slowly over time, Henry and Ella have a necklace do the work for them! Geeeeeez, come on.
–“As much as I want to go to SB to get help, we can’t do that and they can’t know we’re here!” Because…..??????? Oh right. The whole cast quit a year ago.
–Nick is Jack? Jack a giant killer? I mean, sure why not! EF 1.0 had Jacquelyn (my poor namesake) and now it’s Jack!

KeymasterGENERAL: I like that this episode focuses on Hook’s obsessive tendencies like revenge, alcohol, and Rumple. It’s a big part of his character, WishRealm!Hook or not. Some of the story beats here are fine but because the episode focuses on a less developed story and the character in question is less exciting, it doesn’t maintain the same great quality as last week. And, frankly, the big reveal is DUMB, but very OUAT.
6.5/10
LIKED
–“An obsession can be a dangerous thing…”
–Alice selling stolen watches under a bridge seems exactly like something Alice would do.
–Giant Garden Gnome is super stupid but also super hilarious.
–“Why is women’s footwear the bane of my existence!” Okay, that’s the first time I’ve actually enjoyed Victoria.
–Rumple protecting Hook–even if it’s Cursed Wish Realm Hook–from himself is maybe the biggest sign of character development EVER.
MIXED
–Evil Queen’s appearance is welcome after many episodes without her but all Snowing had to do was steal the EQ’s magic? Lame sauce!
DISLIKED
–How does “many years ago” even make sense for the Wish Realm??? It didn’t exist until last year! (yes, I will continue to find this befuddling!)
–I normally really like Roni’s outfits but that polka dot necktie thingy is tragic.
–They’ve mentioned it so little this year that I legitimately forgot that Jacinda trying to get Lucy back from Victoria was a plot point.
–Hook climbing the tower without aid of the hair is a strange way to go. I know Rapunzel’s magically trapped but it’s an odd choice to not allow her hair outside to keep with the fairy tale story.
–Ivy leaving her dirt covered shoes under her desk seems very un-Ivy given how deep her deception runs.
–Magic flower yields a magic baby overnight! That is a dumb dumb dumb OUAT MacGuffin!
–Does Rogers not have a picture of Eloise?? Cause if he did, surely he would realize that young Eloise Gardener couldn’t a be an older woman with graying, multi-colored matted hair???
–NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Alice is really Rogers’s daughter! Uggggggh! I had so much #hope they wouldn’t go that route! BLAH!
–So how does Tremaine fit into ANY of this??? Is she Rapunzel? Is she Gothel’s sister/daughter/mother/not related at all? HOW?!

KeymasterAdam and Eddy have said it’s 2017 in a few places–interviews mostly. I’ll try to refind them.
Found it
HOROWITZ: But we get into how all that works very quickly, but the present-day Hyperion Heights, Seattle stuff takes place in 2017.

KeymasterAnyone wanna guess the ratings for the two hour episodes 707 and 708?
I think we’ll maintain the .5 for 707 but drop to .4 for 708

KeymasterIn Hyperion Heights, Jacinda reconnects with an old friend in a last ditch effort to regain custody of Lucy, but her decision to enlist outside help could put a strain on her burgeoning relationship with Henry,
Does anyone think that the person Jacinda will enlist to help her get custody of Lucy will be the man she believes is Lucy’s father? That would certainly create a rift between Jacinda and Henry.
Yes that’s a good point. I asked that back during the premiere–if she doesn’t think Henry in HH fathered Lucy then who does she think *did*

KeymasterLady Tremaine did say “after what you did to me,” but based on the delivery of that line, I thought that was more like being double crossed because Wish Hook is a pirate
So did I at the time. But they don’t tell actors anything anymore? Sean said stuff along those lines in several exit interviews, IIRC.

KeymasterThis does seem to confirm that, like many have been speculating for awhile, Rapunzel is Wish!Hook’s daughter. The real question is who is Rapunzel *now* (Eloise Gardener, Tremaine, The Witch), who’s the mother, and what happened?
Seeing how young Wish Hook is, it could be a flashback. He and Rapunzel are about the same age, so it looks like Rapunzel could be his baby mama and not his baby.
Yup, I totally think it’s Baby Mama post synopsis/more pictures. And I think she’s Tremaine.

KeymasterIt’s gotta have something to do with the “knight” chess piece since nightfall is spelled with “night” normally.
