Let her in on what Rumple is doing. Cement their relationship with the baby. Have Belle admit she likes the dark part of Rumple, and let them be a team (I’m thinking Harley Quinn type character here). No more Belle not realizing what is going on. Let her be villainous with Rumple.
Oooh, I don’t know. I agree that Belle is more often than not presented as a naive fool (while fulfilling the sexy librarian/Google trope), but while she love all parts of Rumple (even the darkness) that doesn’t mean she wants him to embrace those parts, and certainly has no desire to embrace those parts herself. Even as Lacey she was just a bit more forward than Belle, but certainly not evil. I think having Belle become a Harley Quinn type character would be pretty egregious character assassination. So, naturally, it’s totally plausible thing to happen on this show.

I suggested it last week but now I really want at least SOME romantic tension between Hook and Emma. After all Snow and Charming fell in love during a quest to retrieve David’s mother’s ring back from trolls why can Emma and Hook fall for each other over a quest to find a magic compass?
I don’t know. Maybe it’s because I already ship SwanFire right now, but I just don’t see it yet.
Hook is very attractive, and I like the actor so far, but I don’t really sense any chemistry yet between him and any ladies. He had okay chemistry with Milah, but I bought it more from her end then from him. Overall, I have to say that I’m sort of disappointed in Captain Hook, at least villain wise. He’s not even as “bad” to me as Jefferson is right now. Sure he let Cora kill all those villagers, but it was off screen. Other than that, I’m finding him boring as a villain or even anti-hero although very hot to look at. I just hope that they make him a little bit more bite.
I’m a Swanfire, fan, too, even though I don’t expect anything at all to happen between them anytime soon. They have too many problems and secrets between them, assuming he’s Henry’s father. So I do think Emma will be paired with someone else this season. My problem is, like Bee, I won’t root for anyone she’s with until it’s Baelfire. I really wasn’t even a fan of Graham/Emma and that lasted a whole three seconds.
Emma is such a strong person that she can handle Hook on any level. As far as Emma pulling the knife on him well hey he’s a pirate! He could take that foreplay
Anyway the mirroring between meeting Henry’s father and going on this journey with Hook is the one we’ll all look to first but I’m hoping it’ll also mirror the journey her parents took when they first met. So I hope it’s at least explored a little.That’s just a sampling and a mild one at that. Want more from S2 but that were slightly more explosive?

-Jennifer has sparking chemistry with the mad hatter. For the few scenes she had with him. It makes no sense for them to be together but they had really great chemistry
-Emma was best with Graham. You could just feel it. Graham’s personal curse broke after Emma kissed him. She gave him back his memories. She made heartless Graham into a believer. If Emma was a believer I think they could’ve had true love’s kiss. I don’t think Henry would be alive if Emma wasn’t a believer when she kissed him.Anyway, those love scenes with Neal made me gag. I want him dead.
So, in essence, the water was beginning to boil. Those are just a few samplings. If you really want to see, go read the first 150pages of CS.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"I wonder when things got so crazy in this fandom. I don’t recall season 1 or 2 being so…volatile. Perhaps it was in early season 3 when the bridge started getting a little rocky what with Hook’s heel face turn and Neal’s return, and some bonding time with Regina all splitting up the fandom with who we all believed was the right fit for Emma. Yeah, I think it was then.
If you read my post last page, I kinda really laid it all out and it was really Tallahassee as the watershed moment. I mean, go back and read the threads from S2. People were divided themselves right quick into Hook or Neal camps. Season 2 was plenty volatile but not in the boiling water way that it is now. It could scald you but the levels hadn’t reached the levels they later would.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"I don’t know if I can pinpoint one subsection of the fandom that is worst, but I also think it depends on where you’re standing originally. @WickedRegal as a devout Evil Regal is probably more focused on the SQ subsection because it affects her favorite character and her main ship on the show (OQ). I, as a die hard SFer and Neal stan, think the CSers take the proverbial cake.
The only peaceful group that is in this OUAT Fandom is probably the Rumbelle Fans. And that’s probably it.
Because Snowing shippers don’t *really* exists much. I mean, yeah. We all sorta ship Snowing in the obvious way, but there are few and far between die hard “this is my OTP” Snowing shippers.
But as for the Rumbellers….maybe it’s because I was a Rumbeller and a major Rumple stan but I don’t know if I quite agree. There are some Rumbelle shippers who’s Twitter accounts should probably be taken away at this point for harassment of Adam, the paps, and Robert/Emilie (not naming names)
Most of them strongly dislike Hook but not necessarily for SF reasons. But rather for Hook vs Rumple reasons. They mourn Neal but more because of what he met to Rumple. Because they may not be as invested in the CSF triangle (as, say Slupreez or myself were) that might be why they are perceived as the more peaceful of the lot of us.
Ultimately the most normal are the non-shippers. People who just want a good story and don’t particularly care who ends up with whom so long as it makes narrative and logical sense. Those people are few and far between and I even suspect that even they have–if not shipping tendencies–at least some leanings in some areas. Of course, most of these people are frustrated with 1) the illogical nature of the narrative and 2) the constant ship wars and 3) the angry fans. So, we’re back to what I said a page ago about how everyone kinda hates everyone.
It just occurred to me that I have spent way too much time actively analyzing this fandom. I need a vacation.

I mean, you had a few GoldenSwan people who were pretty intense, especially post Skin Deep. But for the most part, being part of this fandom wasn’t an all out battle for “who is right?!” We had thoughtful, intense, meaningful conversations about, not only the plot, but evil/good, morality, family, ect.
Tallahassee really was the watershed moment. The second Emma and Hook got on screen together and started to climb that beanstalk (while in the past, we learned how Neal hurt Emma–with August’s interference) the fandom broke. The SFers couldn’t believe anyone would honestly think Hook was a serious suitor. And the CSers pointed out that Emma could never forgive Neal but clearly the writers were setting Hook up as her second chance at love. From there, the mid season finale “Queen of Hearts” split us even more. SFers were horrified by the sword-joke and the leaving in jail to die, CSers defended it as “they were enemies!” and pointed to the bean (which they still use as a totum of CS–yes, the dried up and useless one).
From there….well, from there, it never ended. From there it was one fight after the next. Hook was a villain; Neal was a druggie. Hook was secondary in the story; Neal loved Tamara too much. Hook betrayed Emma in 222; Neal let go of Emma’s hand in the portal. Hook flirted with Tinkerbell; Neal used Roland as bait. Hook bribed a kiss from Emma; Emma “wished Neal would stay dead.”
And on. And on. And on. The official FB and Twitter did NOT help. At all. From not knowing how to spell Neal’s name (they thought it was Neil) to tweeting non-stop CS gifs and images and talking about how Captain Hook made everyone swoon. And then the spoiler of doom happened and I didn’t sleep for the entire month of January, shut down both shipping threads for various moments so I could yell at people; and was constantly playing referee.
And then Neal died and…well. Welcome to post-Neal fandom. No one likes anyone and everyone is angry at the show or angry at people who are angry at the show.
EDITED TO ADD: and this was only focused on CS and SF. This is to say nothing of SQ and their insertion into this drama makes it even more chaotic. While I tend to believe that they get the main theme of the show (family) but take it too far (Emma and Regina as a couple), you add them into the mix and things get out of hand. They weren’t huge fans of Neal (because he could wind up with Emma) but they loathed Hook (because he stands for a lot of things Swen hates, honestly reading some Swen commentary on CS and Hook is fairly enlightening). But once Neal died, SQ got really sympathetic toward Neal and most now are of the “if not Regina, then Neal” persuasion. To say they despise CS is an understatement.
