They do; the problem is that more often than not, the surprises get out. Example: Cora being in SB, Pan being Rumple’s father, Rumple stabbing Pan, Anna and Elsa reuniting, Marian being dead all along, Emma taking on the Darkness, Hook dying. When asked about any of this stuff, Adam normally plays it off as #NoSpoilers or Keep Watching!
There are some thing that they keep very closed off, though: the Cruella twist, Rumple being the DO again, Zelena being pregnant. Even Neal dying while heavily speculated wasn’t known (for sure) beforehand. These things are typically shot indoors, away from paps and therefore no one knows about them beforehand and most of the viewers are surprised.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"I just want to say that I love how in the midst of all the comedy and spoofing and singing, the show manages to have some moments of real heart–Richard and Roberta’s conversation about how she can’t watch him die but he can’t abandon Galavant really pulled at the heartstrings. The shows always does such a great job balancing the humor, the meta commentary, and the seriousness.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"Speaking of which, I couldn’t help but be reminded of Rumple and the Dark One when they had the whole D’DEW thing with Wormwood. You could even compare the Madalena and Wormwood master/teacher relationship to Regina and Rumple.
While we were watching, @Josephine wondered if Rumple could jump show and go be on Galavant instead cause he so clearly fits there with the D’DEW/Wormword/Madalena

That’s actually all I can think of at the moment. My only CW shows are all less than 5 years old (Flash, Arrow, the 100, Reign, LoT…)
