KeymasterIf Milah is back for 514, then does that make it a Hook centric?

KeymasterBack in my day, casting the curse would “leave an unfillable hole” in one’s heart. I wonder if that will come into play for Hook.
You’re cute.

KeymasterHinting at it in any meaningful way would have been nice.
The only possible hint that comes to mind was when Hook almost touched Excalibur in “Dreamcatcher”, as if he was being drawn to it, but was stopped.
Shockingly, they didn’t introduce a magical Mcguffin that would lessen the Dark One symptoms (sudden magic, rage, voices, no sleeping) to explain why Hook didn’t experience any of these things

KeymasterSOME time when they could have, yanno, actually TALKED.
Still waiting for my Kitchen Table episode.
No but your point is valid. It was forced and clunky and weird. But I also think that the writers aren’t so concerned with their characters talking, not only like normal human beings, but like the characters we’ve known for 5 years. They are just concerned with getting their characters from point A to point B, nevermind how forced it feels.

KeymasterThe pond has actually appeared since Season 3. It was even the location where Emma told Henry about Neal’s death: http://onceuponatime.wikia.com/wiki/Storybrooke_Heritage_Park
Neal is a duck now.

Keymaster1) Viewers were turned off by 508 and/or 509. 2) It was the end of the Thanksgiving weekend, so some viewers may not have been home quite yet.
Combo of both if you ask me.

*fascinating*

KeymasterHonestly, a big issue with Dark Hook is that this should have been developed over the course of a lot more episodes

KeymasterHer baby girl starts it by giving her the unconditional love, it’s up to Regina to guide her sister as she was guided by their family.
See this is problematic for me because children are not obligated to unconditionally love their parents. The reverse is unconditional. Parents are supposed to unconditionally love their children, regardless of their lifestyle choices or their careers or their sexuality or what have you. This doesn’t mean that there aren’t restrictions and limits to what you’ll do for them, but love shouldn’t be a bartering tool. But to say that kids have to love their parents unconditionally rubs me the wrong way because parents can be abusive, manipulative, physically and emotionally. To tell this new born baby girl that she has to love Zelena unconditionally when Zelena has raped, murdered, lied, cheated, and tried to destroy the lives of everyone around her is a bit squicky. This baby isn’t even a day old but apparently is supposed to love her mommy unconditionally from the get-go.
Like I said, problematic.
But of course this is how A and E will approach it, that by virtue of motherhood, Zelena redeems herself. Like I said in another thread, that’s equally problematic because it’s tantamount to emotional manipulation. Zelena is placing all her eggs in this basket. But what happens if little Green Bean (can we name this kid already?) decides that she can’t cope with Zelena’s past misdeeds (it’s the kid’s choice after all), then Zelena reverts back to wicked because “my baby doesn’t love me!”

KeymasterHook could totally have been controlling her heart. It’s been done before (keeps happening to Belle?), in a similar way. And Hook was just humiliated, he could easily have chosen to do this next to hurt Rumple as much as possible.
The problem I have with this is that no one knew about the meeting. If they wanted to show that Hook was controlling Belle’s heart just then, they’d have some sort of flash to Hook taking Belle’s heart and then holding it and speaking into it so that the audience gets the full shock value. Just like they did with Regina last year.
It might have been inconsistent with Belle as a character, but none of the characters are really written consistently arc to arc and sometimes episode to episode. We also have to take into consideration that EdR is pregnant and that unlike Snow/Ginny back in S3, the writers will have no problem writing Belle/EdR out of the narrative for a bit while she’s carrying a baby. This was their way of not having to answer “where’s Belle?” questions every week in S5B.
