KeymasterFound this on Tumblr. Thought I’d post it.
So, I was wondering why OUAT is doing a carnival? Especially since they’re suppose to be helping find Merlin to save Emma and a carnival right now is not that appropriate? So I was talking to a SQ friend and she said, “Something Wicked This Way Comes”. This was a book written by Ray Bradbury and Disney made it into a movie in the early 80′s. Honestly, it would make so much sense for Adam and Eddy using this as inspiration.
The novel opens on October 23. That’s Emma’s birthday. The book/movie is about good vs evil or light vs dark. Good prevails in the end because of the purity of the heart. But the Carnival is temptation, “For every desire there will be a cost”. Some characters fails to see the deception of people. Be careful what you wish for, “and for every wish, there will be a price”. “Never whisper in your dreams, for someone might be listening.” Quotes from the movie. It would make sense! With the carnival and also the recent title spoiler, “Dreamcatcher”.
I’m sure A&E have seen this movie and/or read the book. It’s a fantasy and a horror tale. It fits.

KeymasterWe all know that dreamcatchers have been used before—once–for magical reasons, Eddy. We watch the show. We aren’t actually stupid. But thematically they have always–ALWAYS–been linked to Neal and Emma. ALWAYS. That’s why Emma has the reaction she does to seeing the dreamcatcher the one time we see it do some sort of magical thing in the Cricket Game. That’s why it’s the dreamcatcher she sees in the window in Manhattan that clues her in to there being more to Neal’s story in “Manhattan.” That’s why it’s the dreamcatcher she finds in NYC Serenade that lets her know she needs to listen to Hook’s crazy story. That’s why it’s the dreamcatcher she holds when she she says “he was a lot of things to me” in 419. It has always been a symbol for Neal and Emma. So stop getting defensive and thinking you need to suddenly alert the press that “oops! nope! nothing to do with Neal guys!” just because we’ve called you on using something that has always been thematically associated with the guy you’re hoping we’ve forgotten about.

KeymasterAlso King Arthur had a son Mordred with Morgan le fay/ Morgana in some legends in others he was Arthur rival. He was always bad news for Arthur. I’m think Sir Morgan is probably Mordred. I personally think Violet’s dress reminds me of the blue fairy.
Mordred is always a rival/Arthur’s nemesis, starting with Monmouth’s account. Where the accounts differ is who his mother is. Often it’s Morgause, not Morgana–it’s modern tradition that wraps the two ladies together to just be Morgan le Fay. What’s interesting is that in his original casting call, they named him Sir Lionel, a knight of the Round Table who was slain by one of Mordred’s sons after Calmann. He might be Mordred, though not sure why they’d give him a daughter other than plot.
