KeymasterMagic has made Rumple’s blood thick and goopy; only with the elixer can he be healed.
Hook would not have this condition if it’s specific to magic users — which he is not.
Okay, I’ll buy that one. That one fits. Now explain Regina and Zelena?
I think with Rumple, it could come down to two things 1) It’s a side effect of being the Dark One for so many years and/or 2) How long Rumple’s been alive and using magic. Now in regards to the 2nd possible key point, Regina has only been around for a small fraction of the time as Rumple, and Hook is not a magic user.
Sure. Dark One Heart’s Condition. I guess I’ll take it.
However it would have been far more profound if Rumple had a literal broken heart and not “magic made my blood thick”

Keymasterthought that maybe they had borrowed Jefferson’s hat.
so did I, and was rather happy about it, but there is no reason for the door to kill a guard. It’s like it landed out of thin air, tornado style. So not the hat.

KeymasterI think we’ve seen with Hook’s heart, it’s pretty healthy — bright red and all. Regina’s we haven’t seen recently, so I don’t know what it’s like.
That’s true, though Hook’s heart has black on it 411. But, keep this in mind, Regina pulled out Zelena’s heart in 403 (thinking it was Marian’s) and that heart was bright red. And we know Zelena has got to have some darkness, right? So…who really knows?

KeymasterTo be 100% honest: I really did not like this episode at all. I thought it was one of the most confusing, disjointed, pointless episodes in the show’s history. It was all about BIG SHOCK and REVEALS but there was very little heart and the heart that was there felt uncomfortable because of elephants in the room (mostly named Neal) and lot of super silly convenient plot devices and unnecessary moment.
I honestly kept asking people every few minutes: “what is going on? I’m so confused…”
LIKED
–Very little, obviously. But I really liked Rumple’s conversation with Robin outside the hospital about Nealfire and why he can’t take Neal’s things. BUT…BUT BUT BUT…send those things to HENRY. Maybe your Grandson would like to have them?!?!?!
–Bex’s acting was pretty great in that “I really wish this character were truly dead” way.
–I did like the connection back to Lacey about how the arrow that never misses its target
DISLIKED
–Pretty much everything. Robin talks a good game but he goes back and forth and back and forth and back and forth. Him and S3B Emma should get together.
–So many questions about how people are getting to Oz!! And leaving Oz!!
–Zelena being alive at all. It’s cheap. It’s a way to have their cake and eat it too. They wanted OQ drama in S4A but none of the nasty moral repercussions.
–Marian and Robin camping out in Neal’s apartment. So disrespectful. This is how Neal gets brought up now? Just so people can chill in his apartment? With the very visiable SF dreamcatcher? OKAY
–This show does not need another bloody villain!
–A lot of the music in this episode was rather obnoxious which was a first for Isham.
–6 leaf magic clover. Are you kidding me? So how did Belle recognize Sean if she only saw Tom?! See. They just created another problem!
–When in the world did this episode take place. I get it was Pre-Lacey but…
–Another POC bites the dust! *fantastic* #Sarcasm
–What is the POINT of Will Scarlett on this show?! Seriously. WHAT IS THE POINT. (yes, I know…likely for S5 and they wanted to keep Socha but come on!!) He has done ZIP all season and did next to zip this episode!

KeymasterYeahhhhh
I think Regina is pregnant. It would be one of OUAT’s 4 or 5 Sweeps on TVLine

Keymasteram glad we are getting an explanation (but there are plenty of plotholes that deserve better attention than this one).
The explanation is that Tom was not available. They don’t need to fill in this hole because there isn’t one; this isn’t a plot problem. As a reasonable audience member, I do understand that actors sometimes get other gigs. This is not a plot hole; this is just business. And they’re going to be tying themselves in knots explaining how Marian and Belle recognized both versions of Robin.
