It also says a lot for Sebastian Stan that his episode origin episode is so popular when he was only in 6 episodes total with only 2 of those being him in flashbacks.
For me, Sebastian Stan was a big loss for the show.
Agreed. I think he could have been a great main, and made a better love interest for Regina than Robin Hood did.

I’m very surprised to see “The Stranger” go. It was in my Top 20 and I thought it was more popular than it was apparently. August was one of my favorite character’s of S1, and I thought the payoff to the mystery of his identity was worth it, and not completely predictable. The scene where he shows Emma his wooden leg and she can’t see it because she doesn’t want to see it is one of my favorites too.
I’m also surprised “The Song in Your Heart” still isn’t making it to the Top 10.
– What episode are you most disappointed to see go?
“The Stranger” and “Heart of Gold.” “The Stranger” for the aforementioned reasons, and “Heart of Gold,” because I love a good twist, and Zelena posing as Marian was one of the longest and most surprising twists for me. I do understand why it went though, due it cheapening Neal’s death for some, and I do love Neal and Swanfire.– Why do you think the episodes in the Top 10 and Bottom 20 were the episodes they were?
I do find it interesting that all of our mains’ backstories – except for Zelena, and Henry – are represented in the Top 10 – Rumple, Regina, Hook, Belle, Snow, Charming, Emma, and Neal. Yes, since 2 of mine are gone, I’ll have to change things a bit.So we’re still voting for twenty? Since several of the episodes I’ve been voting for were just eliminated that will require me to vote for episodes I’d previously passed over.
Yes, I lost a few episodes too. Next round, we’ll only vote for our Top 15, and lose a minimum bottom 15.

I agree. I know a lot of feel that Once has the potential to be at its best when its fleshing out its characters. Even when the writing quality has gone done, we’ve stayed for the characters they made us grow to love.

Yes, it’s definitely one of my top favorites and so foundational to the series. I also agree with TheWatcher, I was surprised the musical episode didn’t make the Top 10 either.

– What were the biggest surprises for you? What wasn’t surprising?
I’m surprised “Dreamy” made it through, but “What Happened to Frederick didn’t. “Dreamy” was by far the weakest episode of S1 in my opinion. I’m also surprised neither of the Lily-centric episodes made it through, yet many of us on here want to see her story resolved. I’m also a little surprised “The Savior” didn’t even get 1 vote. It wasn’t my favorite, but I figured it would at least be someone’s. On the flip side, I was not surprised to see Season 1 fare the best as far as eliminated episodes went and Season 5 do the worst.
– What episode are you most disappointed to see go?
I suppose it would be “Enter the Dragon” It certainly wasn’t in my top 20 or even 40 probably, but it was a good backstory for 4B’s only surviving new villain.
– Why do you think the episodes in the Top 10 and Bottom 20 were the episodes they were?
I think half of the Top 10 were S1 because that was the best written season when we all fell in the love with the show. It felt innovative and surprising still. I think all of the Top 10 were pre-3B since it seemed the writers ran out of their planned story from the beginning at that point, as many of us have said. To me, that explains many of the Bottom 20 episodes as well.
– Will knowing these results change how you vote in the next round?
No, since only episodes with zero votes were eliminated. I’m very interested to see if anything changes because of others’ vote changes though.
