ParticipantI really think they just need to add in some new regular people characters and have the old characters help the new characters.
This is what I’d like as well. We can have a time jump, have Regina, Rumple, and Hook taken from their HEA’s for a season to transition in the new characters, and then have those 3 returned to their HEA’s by season’s end. If the show gets a S8, the originals can bow out and the show can continue with the new cast.

ParticipantHave Emilie’s and Jared’s departures been confirmed apart from AskAusiello? Or is it sort of assumed since Lana, Robert, and Colin are confirmed, the others aren’t? I assume we’ll hear one way or the other definitively soon like we just did with Bex.

Awesome and long overdue!

ParticipantFor what it’s worth, the possibility for s7 to be set at the wish realm seems more positive than ever so Emma might not die in the finale and KillEmma might still end up together.
It’s a creative and plausible theory, but I’m personally hoping this isn’t the direction they take things. The Wish Realm was my least favorite part of this season. Also, the DNA of OUAT has always been character revelation through flashbacks. The Wish Realm residents just came into existence this season. I guess they could show flashbacks if there’s a time jump… It would certainly be a reboot, but a disappointing concept in my opinion.

ParticipantRebecca Mader won’t return for season 7.
What a class act. The writers didn’t use her to her full potential, but I will miss her.

ParticipantDon’t ruin
I just hope they explain all these characters absences in a way that doesn’t mean they died. Where Emma is still Hook’s wife and Belle is still Rumple’s.
Agreed. Or permanently separated from one another. Otherwise the “New Beginning” for Emma et al. championed in the last episode will have been a cruel joke.
Permanantly separated would be too cruel. They need to do it to where we have hope that they’ll be together one day. Don’t ruin all the happy endings you put in place.
This.

Participantbut many others are saying they’ll give it a go if A and E does right by the ship by having the story be about the ship (ie: Emma’s in trouble, missing, pregnant and under a sleeping curse).
That’s an interesting thought. I wonder if they’d put both Belle and Emma under sleeping curses and have Rumple and Hook’s arc be about working together to save the women they love. I could see A&E not being able to pass up having centuries-long enemies working in tandem and developing a CaptainGold? friendship in parallel to Wicked Sisters.

ParticipantI’m anxious to see what next season will look like. I like the idea of a grown up Henry carrying on the show. I’m very cautiously optimistic – it may not be good, but I’m giving it a chance. What confuses me the most is how there will be a sense of closure for Emma in the finale. With the way the show has been written how can she have her HEA if she’s separated from possibly Henry, her parents and Hook? I’m all for a reboot, but I don’t see how they can give us the closure they’ve promised. I hope I’m pleasantly surprised.
