They could have gone to Emma, could have told her that they are her parents, prepared her for her destiny and brought her back to storybrooke on her 28th birthday.
So they wouldn’t have tried to raise her, just told her about her destiny and come back for her on her 28th Birthday? Would she have believed it though? And if they tried to raise her, how would that have worked logistically with her being in the foster system? They would let Snow and Charming just “kidnap” her.

My standards have definitely lowered as the seasons have gone by, and I’ve started judging the episodes more on their inherent enjoyability and at least trying to not let plot holes ruin it for me when I can. I’d give it a 7/10.
Liked:
– Getting another flashback to cursed Storybrooke – I always enjoy those. It was great to see Lana step into that character again too.
– Snow and Charming’s choice to let Emma fulfill her destiny – it was in character for them and in my mind was selfless even if it was a big retcon.
– The 3 storylines of Flashback, Neverland, and Present Day were interwoven nicely and the right amount of time was given to each.
– I’m continuing to enjoy Jamie Murray’s acting as the Black Fairy and I can’t wait to see her backstory in 6×19.
Mixed:
– Hook cutting off his shadow to get home. I liked the continuity from Season 3 but all he needed to do it was magic tree sap? But Regina and company couldn’t have done that in 3×08 to get past Pan’s barrier against those with shadows, rather than covering up the moon? Maybe they didn’t know about it, but still…
– I liked meeting Tiger Lily and finding out she used to be a fairy. Didn’t expect that! Would have been nice to hear an explanation of why the Nevengers didn’t see her in Season 3 since she had to have been there.
– I appreciated Snow putting Emma before herself regarding the use of the pixie flowers, but as others have stated, she never seems to acknowledge baby Neal. Also, maybe consult Charming, the only person affected by this drastic decision? Also, the show used to put such a high value on the parent-child relationship and Emma agrees to save Hook instead of her parents so quickly.
– How the sleeping curse was broken – it was emotionally impactful and a “cool” way to do it, but it bothers me they never even tried TLK from Emma, Henry, or Regina when that was once such a powerful thing in the show
Disliked:
– The pixie flower – It somehow exists in a Land Without Magic, and it’s never appeared or been looked for before to solve any problems in seasons 1-5. Snow and Charming could have also mentioned it’s power to reunite loved ones as soon as they went under the Sleeping Curse and as soon as Hook went missing a few episodes ago. These flowers should be remembered and protected by some kind of magic.
– NO MORE FORGETTING POTIONS

Could be the reveal that Black is Blue? We already know Keegan is in 6×20 as the Blue Fairy. I’m picturing her singing a big villain song in the past that culminates with that reveal as an interruption to the CS wedding. That would awesome, in my opinion anyway.
ry4christParticipantThe flower was definitely a major retcon, that could have solved many problems in the show’s previous seasons. But Snow and Charming not going through the door kind of made sense to me. Let’s say they go through the door. What happens then? Do they claim to be her parents and kidnap Emma? She could have still come to town at age 28, but would that have meant Snow and Charming would’ve had to wait 18 years with their memories until Emma broke the curse.
ry4christParticipantThe first thing I thought of was that Tiger Lily was somehow Black Fairy’s daughter. The scene where TL revealed she was a former fairy came right after the Black Fairy said to Snow, “No one should have to watch their child die” or something like that. I don’t know how it would work, but that was the first thing I thought when watching it.
ry4christParticipantPlease don’t retcon s1…
I have a bad feeling it very well may be one. I recall A@E saying in an interview from last month maybe we’d be getting at least one more Snowing “flashback.” Granted they say a lot of things in interviews that we never actually end up seeing.
ry4christParticipantMy guess: Tiger Lily is a real Native American. From real world America (Since Wendy was from our world , I would guess Tiger Lily was too.) and she somehow wounded up in NVL centuries ago and stayed there, young, forever, and wants a way out. Hook encountered her at some point.
This could explain why she’s credited as “Native American Woman/Tiger Lily” in the press release. Maybe they will show us a brief flashback of her before she became Tiger Lily in Neverland. It is odd they’re introducing a new recurring character at this point – she’s confirmed to be in 4 out of the 6 remaining episodes of S6. Could they possibly be setting her up to be main cast next season? Maybe Aladdin and Jasmine will join main cast, like you predicted RG, and so will the little girl and Tiger Lily. Could OUAT be looking to put more diversity into their main cast for the “reset?” It’s a lot of speculation, I know, but you just never know with this show.
ry4christParticipantSo no time travel, but a flashback where Snow and Charming realm traveled and saw Emma as a kid, but didn’t rescue her because of her destiny? And maybe then took a memory erasing potion? Or this is another secret they’ve kept? This seems like it could set up unnecessary conflict between them and Emma at this point.
ry4christParticipantNot really-New actor, same character therefore same family member. Then again, have they been filming together a lot? I haven’t kept on top of who is filming and when. If so, then yeah really confusing.
Agreed. I don’t think an aged up version of a preexisting character counts as a new family member.
But no new family member does verify that the little girl is not Henry’s daughter, right?
April 12, 2017 at 5:18 pm in reply to: 6×16 "Mother's Little Helper"–Favorite and Least Favorite Moments #335922ry4christParticipantReally, because I remember an Emma who stood up for the truth and backed others even when it was detrimental to herself. I remember an Emma who would never have blackmailed others and would have tried to help Gideon after his explanation instead of threatening to kill him. This was the Emma of season 1-3.
Yeah I agree, that’s the Emma we all came to know and love in the first 3 seasons. Many of us see her “character growth” since then to be negative as she seems to place Hook above all else. Here’s how I see it: Gideon has tried to kill her, taken Hook away, and is now threatening Emma – it’s in character for her to punch him then. But after Gideon implies he was abused and explains how so many, including children, are depending on him, Old Emma would have had a moment of realization that this guy needs her help. Then we cut to Black Fairy abusing a child. I realize Emma isn’t completely aware of the extent of Black Fairy’s evil, but from a writing standpoint, why would you show your hero punching someone in the face, and then immediately show the Black’s fairy’s abusiveness toward that same someone?! Emma punches Gideon, then abuse scene, then Emma with Snow telling his parents she’s happy to fulfill his “death wish.” And then, by the end of the episode we find out Gideon isn’t at fault for any of his actions! If the writers were trying to make Emma look bad, they succeeded.
