I didn’t quite understand the “Savior’s Tears” part. Emma’s listening to Hook on the “shell phone” and Gideon, (as Aesop) says: “He can’t hear you. Not while I hold onto the tears of the Savior.” So Savior tears block “shell phone” reception. Random, but okay. Then Gideon says, “So long as I have this (holds up tears in bag) I can ensure there will be no portals between you and the man you love.” Portals as in communication via “shell phone,” or portals in general. If the latter, how does THAT work?
I took it to mean that once you have the Savior’s tears, no one can cross realms to get to them. But it’s super ambiguous.
That could be it. It was weird how Emma didn’t even question him to see how and why he had leverage over her with tears. He could’ve completely made that up.
[adrotate group="5"]ry4christParticipantHe needed her tears to keep Hook away from her as leverage to get her to do what he wants. To me, it makes sense. However, I don’t like that we got another maguffin in Savior tears and I don’t like that Gideon has now somehow switched opinions on this and now wants Emma to help him kill Black Fairy. When did he realize this? We needed to see this. Did Rumple help him realize this? What about all that magic stealing from the sword via Blue Fairy? All the stuff with Rumple not wanting Gideon to do anything bad and dark so he would do it for him? So now, Gideon is being good trying to take out a bad person?

ry4christParticipantI still think that before Storybrooke was created it was much more difficult to travel to the land without magic. We actually only know of four ways. The wardrobe, a bean, the silver slippers, and the curse. All the other ways, the hat, the water, the rabbit, the mirrors, the black fairy’s wand, the coconut all would have not worked until after Storybrooke existed and was magical. It is a magical land within the land without magic therefore the regular portals all work now.
This makes some sense of it. I recall an episode in Season 2 where someone says The Dark Curse “broke down the walls or barriers between worlds” or something to that effect. But there was also the Apprentice’s portal and door making ability which we never saw Rumple try to take advantage of, right? And was it ever explained why he didn’t try using the magic tree introduced in Pilot?
ry4christParticipantYou know, as the writers have continually added to the plethora of ways to reach our world, I wish they would have shown Rumple trying and failing to use these ways like they did with the silver slippers or the magic beans.
ry4christParticipantIf Lana, Ginny, and Josh all leave I can’t see Andrew J. West’s character in the finale being grown up Henry or grown up bay Neal, especially with Gosh supposedly saying they’d love to come back if invited. Regina apart from Henry, or the Charmings apart from their son Neal would’t be a happy ending for any of those characters and I can’t see them sending off the aforementioned three without a HEA.
ry4christParticipantSo do we think Tinkerbell will show up in Storybrooke or the flashback or both?
ry4christParticipantI am curious to find out what the loophole is for them to be able to destroy each other and live to tell the tale.
Um yeah, they established you can’t kill one without the other with Jekyll and Hyde, right?

Liked:
– Flashback Rumple is always fun, and seeing him with Bae again was great since their relationship was at the heart of the show originally.
– The Beowulf isn’t really a hero twist. I like surprising twists and this was for me.
– Not ruining Wonderland continuity. When they first mentioned Grendel, I was upset, so I was glad he was made up.
– Rumple’s “selfless” actions in the past and present to keep his sons from the darkness.
Mixed:
– Really cool battle scene at the beginning, but why is no one using Snow’s trick of shooting them with an arrow in the eye? Had no one figured that out yet? Also, where were all the young teenagers like Morraine that were supposed to be fighting?
– The CS proposal. It was nice to have a long awaited moment come, but why did they have to partly ruin it by making it bittersweet? It reminded me of RumBelle’s marriage in 3×22 aka when they started ruining Rumple’s character development.
– Bae’s decision to force Rumple to kill Beowulf. As many have said, it was OOC. Real people have OOC moments of weakness, but it would have been a lot more believable if they’d shown Bae having instant remorse. In the hovel, they could have had him saying how much he regretted his decision, but was still tempted to use the dagger again. Then Rumple could have given him the tea to both remove his guilt and ensure Bae didn’t go down a dark path. Bae’S reaction needed to be more complex to be believable.
– The Blue Fairy. I’m so frustrated by the writers with her! She’s partially responsible for Rumple losing BOTH of his sons, and now we find out she created an enchanted sword, which Gideon, raised by the Black Fairy wants to use? If the writers aren’t going to reveal Evil Blue or Blue is Black, then they’re just screwing with us on purpose.
Disliked:
If Queen Cobra could escape her cage so easily, why did it not happen until now? I know, PLOT.
– Hook not caring about Charming knowing what he did, just Emma.
– I feel like they’re waiting too long to bring in the Black Fairy. How are we going to have enough time with her before season’s end?
March 17, 2017 at 11:28 pm in reply to: YahooTV 3/17 – Creators Tease Hook’s Hero Journey, Rumple’s Flashback #334522ry4christParticipantSo they pretty much admitted Regina will rejoin herself with the EQ. I’m not sure how that relates to Robin and moving forward though. I think it’s really poor form of ABC not to have told A&E whether they’re getting renewed or not. I foresee them giving “resolution” to our characters and the season’s/shows arc and then having something happen in the last ten minutes of the episode that raises more questions that may never get answered.
ry4christParticipantThis is either going to be very good or very very bad.
I know it should go without saying, but I hope it’s really good. I could see it being a lame attempt to make us sympathize with Rumple so that we see him as more honorable when he dies at the season’s end, conveniently forgetting his actions for the past few seasons.
