ParticipantDid anyone else wonder if Drizella had somehow made Ella’s hat fly off and the ice break with her magic? Maybe not necessarily on purpose, but by accident since she supposedly didn’t have any control of it.
I had thought maybe Drizella did it on purpose, but an accident might make more sense. Maybe Tremaine later discovers this, which increases/leads to her hatred of Drizella.

ParticipantWhat I don’t get is the sequence of events;
Marcus dives into the water and pulls out Cindy. He tells Tremaine that he “could only save one” but them moments later we see Tremaine hauling Ana to Gothel in an attempt to revive her. So…Marcus dove back in and pulled out Ana but yet claims he “could only save one” which implies that one was further away and Ella just happened to be within in his grasp?
That’s how I interpreted it, unless Rapunzel dove in for Anastasia after Marcus came up. They should have explained that better. Also, why didn’t Rapunzel jump in too – why was it just Marcus’ job to save their daughters? Was it just a moment of shock and she didn’t think to jump in as well?

ParticipantReally enjoyed this episode. One of the best of the season so far along with “Beauty,” and “Wake Up Call,” in my opinion.
Liked:
– Lady Tremaine being Rapunzel. As soon we found out Rapunzel was coming and Tremaine’s last name was “Belfry,” I thought they’d go this route, and I’m glad they did. They’ve never made a “Disney princess” villainous before, so bravo for doing something new Once. I really liked how they revealed it right away in the episode and how it all played out.
– Things are beginning to really connect! Cecelia and Marcus in Wonderland, Anastasia, Gothel, the Guardian, etc. Blanks are starting to get filled in, and I like it.
– “Did someone not get enough hugs?” – epic awful villain line in the best way
– Drizella – Adelaide Kane continues to impress. The tension simmering beneath between her and Tremaine – you could almost cut it with a knife.
– Tiana/Sabine’s role in the episode. She felt more relevant to the overall season arc this time and I’m intrigued why Rumple had her hold the dagger.
– Rumple’s “confession” to Rogers that he’s been separated from his wife! Open, vulnerable Rumple is the best Rumple!
– It was obvious Tremaine was going to wake Anastasia, but I didn’t see Lucy falling to the ground coming – great, unexpected twist!
Mixed:
– There’s definitely holes in Tremaine/Rapunzel’s backstory, but I’m hopeful we’ll get them. We need to see Tremaine working for years and years trying to wake Anastasia and the toll that takes on Cinderella and Drizella as they grow up. I also hope we see Marcus searching for Cecelia in Wonderland. I agree with many of you that Alice may have been lying about what went down with Cecelia so I do think they’ll show us that.
– Jacinda/Ella kissing Nick/Jack. I get it, she got caught up in the moment, and it needed to happen for Lucy to cry, but I don’t know if I’m going to like this because love triangles were old before they started. Also did they kiss again? Because the video Tremaine showed Lucy was definitely longer and more passionate than what we saw firsthand. Or was that just for plot/drama sake?
Disliked:
– I know she’s not technically a main character, but even a brief shot of Alice acknowledging she’s there would be nice.
– So the mushroom gave Cecelia the poisoned heart curse, yes? And she ran away to Wonderland to avoid hurting her family. That made after the episode ended and I thought about it, but they actually could have made that more clear to the audience.
– How many different ways can we say, “Anastasia?” LOL.

ParticipantAlso, Alice is coming off as an insane character and i am leaning more towaard her being like a villain then not. At least she is a villain adjacent with Hook being her father and the possible connection to Drizella. Also, the way that Tremaine has reacted both times she saw her has been a lot and that should mean something.
Interesting insight. I hadn’t thought of the possibility of Alice being a villain. If her craziness extends to the NEF, I can definitely see her having made some questionable choices.

ParticipantGee. I’m so shocked! She’s Rapunzel!
Yeah I find it odd they didn’t even try to keep this a surprise a little bit.

ParticipantI know others have suggested Henry is the Guardian Rumple is looking for, but I wanted to state why I think this is the case, partly in relation to this article.
– In 7×04, Rumple says he will go to the moment where he will meet the Guardian. He does bump into Alice, but Henry also zooms by on his motorcycle. There has to be a reason they showed Henry.
– I was thinking back to the Seer’s prophecy that Rumple would one day be reunited with Bae by a young boy who would be his undoing. This may have been in reference to Henry leading Rumple to Bae in 2×14 and Rumple’s death in 3×11. Since that was never explicitly stated (making it always seems like a dropped plot thread to me), perhaps Henry is the Guardian leading Rumple to Bae (and Belle) in the afterlife when he dies, with that being his final “undoing.” I think it’s also possible 7×22 will be titled “The Guardian.”
– In the article linked above, A&E state, “The Guardian is the person who can hold the knife and keep the power without letting it consume them and will allow [Rumple] to be free of being the Dark One.” I think this could very well be describing Henry because A) Henry has been described as having the “Heart of the Truest Believer,” B) It would tie Rumple’s arc this season into the rest of the characters, especially if Henry’s life is in danger as 7×06 leads us to believe and Rumple has this stake in Henry not only as his grandson but as the one who can free him, and C) We have already seen Henry make a wise choice in the show regarding having much power when he broke the author’s quill in 4×22 saying, “No one should have that much power.” Henry’s role as an author has already been highlighted in this season – I would not be surprised if that becomes important again.
Thoughts?

ParticipantSo it sounds like maybe we’re seeing at least 3 different stages of flashbacks? One with Rapunzel/Tremaine getting put in the tower, another when she’s old enough to have young Anastasia and young Drizella, and a third where she’s old enough to have tween Anastasia and tween Drizella.

Participant. In a flashback, we learn Lady Tremaine’s surprising connection to another classic fairytale when Mother Gothel offers to help her family.
Gee. I wonder what other classic fairytale that could be.
Yeah…this has to be one of the most spoilery synopses they’ve had – especially combined with the promo.

ParticipantBased on what they said last year about the reboot and Season 7, I imagine if A&E don’t already know whether or not they’re getting a Season 8, they will know soon.
