sacrlcParticipantLil’Red – I’m sorry you wish to delete your account. 🙁 . Since your posts will live on, all you need to do is to not post anything and not log in.

sacrlcParticipantYIPPEE!! The rumor of a 4 to 5 week hiatus is no longer a reality. (jumps up and down, backflips, hugs the hubby, the cat, the TV, the lamp…..whatever is handy).
Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy…. 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

sacrlcParticipantI just had to comment on your little quote. I am a “geek” of the old school starting in 1969 and grew along as IT capabilities progressed to what it is today. I have always loved that joke because it drives people nuts. Especially the young geeks who never saw or heard of a punch card or assembler. 😆
As you and I know, all computers boil down to 0’s and 1’s. :ugeek:

sacrlcParticipantSorry – my warped sense of humor got hold of me.
QueenHopper shipping is MUCH better.

sacrlcParticipantIMHO, ABC made a big mistake putting this show on Sunday nights where it is historically prone to several interruptions due to the Super Bowl, Oscars, Emmys, etc. This is a way that some folks lose interest, including the ones who don’t watch the super bowl and Oscars. The lead in show – American funniest home video’s – is not a big draw to many viewers and to watch Once, they have to deliberately turn the channel to ABC from whatever else they were watching. When Once is not on – they look for another show to watch or stay on the channel they are already on, and many times, will continue to do this, even when Once is back on, because the other shows are reliably shown every week. Unfortunately, the ratings suffer. 😥
So, what does everybody think would be a better night of the week for Once?

sacrlcParticipantI think Hopper/Regina could make sense. She trusted him enough to talk to him about her concerns she would never have trusted to anyone else while she was trying to change for Henry. The fact that he mentioned their session to someone else made her feel he betrayed her and made her react angrily. But was her anger because she wanted to be seen as invincible to the community or because she actually didn’t know that deep down she is a little fond of him and the anger was not really social but actually personal? Or both?
Because she has been so focused on her revenge, anger and the need for power; she has not paid attention to her true deep-down feelings for anyone except Henry, who is a child and not a romantic interest. Regina really believed she loved David, but in reality he was different than anyone she knew, a symbol of hope and happiness and a mode of escape from her Mother. When he was killed by Cora, he unconsciously became a symbol of everything she lost, hence her anger and her obsession for revenge. So in reality, she still hasn’t found her “true love”.
Hopper is a sympathetic soul and always sees the good in everyone. Regina’s love-hate relationship with her mother as well as her love for Henry might occasionally cause Regina to seek a sympathetic ear. As she vacillates between redemption and revenge, she will seek him out more and more to vent her sad, guilty and distressed feelings. As she senses that he is genuinely displaying personal sympathy and truly cares for her as a person, she begins to feel comfortable with him and begins to consciously trust him more and more and even begins to grow fond of him.
Hopper would be her conscience which helps with her work for her redemption and she would become the one person who actually begins to love him for who he is, not what he represents. This could make a facinating troubled relationship, particularly while Cora is around sabotaging the growing bond between Regina and Hopper. I don’t think this will be a quick or easy journey, it probably be slow and take a couple years or so. After all, Regina is known to be mercurial.
Besides, how often do opposites attract?
Regina the hated and Hopper the beloved.
I think I just became a BugQueen shipper.

sacrlcParticipantTheBee, I’m so sorry you wish to leave because the show isn’t turning out the way you want it to. Hook is hot, no doubt, but he is just one character in the ensemble. Several of the characters, other than the initial core group, did not become prominent until the story line took a turn that made them a central character. Look at Ruby, Grumpy, Jefferson, Sidney, Dr. Hopper, Cora, Dr. Whale, etc. Colin O’Donoghue was originally supposed to be in just a few episodes, but Hook was soon made a regular character which means they have much more in store for his character, just not yet.
But that’s the charm of the show, the unpredictability, the surprises, the hints to the upcoming events/storylines, the mix of fairy tales, myths and legends interrelating with each other, all in an unusual but eventually satisfying way. Even the episodes that some call the “filler” episodes are actually full of hints, setups and introductions for major upcoming threads. The cannon themes: “love is the most powerful magic” and “all magic comes with a price”, provide the impetus for many of the twists, surprises and outcomes, good, bad or ugly.
Yes, there are nonsense and repetitive posts and occasionally what appears to be prickly dialogue between a couple posters, but I just overlook them and continue to read the posts for the nuggets that become facinating. I sometimes rewatch the older episodes to find what I missed that contributed to the later stories that a poster may have pointed out. The comments and links that appear within this forum are interesting to follow and will many times give me pause for thought. This forum and show will often pique my curiosity enough to search for information on the legends, fairytales, runes, alchemy, talismans and symbols which are many times actually clues to the story or easter eggs/nods to other shows, legends, and folklore. (Thank goodness for books, Google and Wikipedia).
The “Caption Threads” by PriceOfMagic albeit not really about the show, is absolutely priceless and provides quite a bit of fun during the hiatus.
TheBee, please reconsider. Just think, the show would be quickly boring if it were not written the way it is. Anticipation of the twists and turns to come are what is exciting.
Alas, I will have to admit to having one complaint: the lame way the characters reacted when they found out that Dr. Hopper was not dead after all. 🙄
