I’m leaning towards the “imposter” theory, but I don’t think it’s Cora and Hook.
Cora can shapeshift, Hook cannot.
Cora knows Henry’s name and his relationship to Emma
Cora saw Emma and Snow’s tearful reunion and daughter and mother, so she understands their relationship enough to be believable as Emma.
Ergo – Cora shapeshifted into Emma, Snow doesn’t know it’s not Emma. Snow and “fake” Emma got back to SB with Charming’s help.
Emma is still in FTL with Hook, both knowing the truth and trying to figure out how to get to SB.

The unselfish gift to Henry by Mr Gold has gotten me to musing about their relationship.
We know that Mr Gold is who found an infant for Reginia to adopt. We never really know how and why Henry was the one, and nor did Mr Gold before Emma showed up and reawakened his FTL memory.
But, there is the posibility that he felt a tenderness towards infant Henry that he hadn’t felt since he lost Bae, which is probably why Henry was brought to SB.
I predict that Mr Gold will always have a particular fondness for Henry and he will always protect him as a son “free of charge” whether he is Bae’s son or not.

sacrlcParticipantFairy Dust made a compelling case for Dr Frankenstein & Jack the Ripper and I was pretty much sold on it. But then TheGoldenKey made an equally compelling case for Dr Frankenstein and Dr. Frank-N-Furter. Both theories are convincing.
I have to say, though, that I am seriously leaning towards Dr Frankenstein and Dr. Frank-N-Furter. I can’t wait to see everyone do the “Time Warp”.

sacrlcParticipantWe have had a lot of discussion about Emma’s arrest in Portland and Henry’s birth in Phoenix. I had agreed that they must be talking about Oregon/Arizona.
However, I have found that there are cities named Phoenix and Portland in New York.
There is a correction facility in Phoenix NY named Oswego County Correctional Facility.
There are two Portland NYs. One in Chautaugua county – 204 miles away from Phoenix NY and the other is in Tompkins County – 62 miles away.
My bet is on New York.

October 21, 2012 at 9:16 pm in reply to: What if Bae jumps from world to world with many identities #157446sacrlcParticipantIf Bae was portal jumping to several destinations, he could have run across Jefferson, a portal jumper himself. Probably became friends and shared his story with Jefferson.
As for Magic, Jefferson said he can’t do magic, he only is a portal jumper, which, if Bae also portal jumps to various destinations (to find his father??), he would not be using magic, he would be only using the tool (magic bean) he was given by the Blue Fairy.
This begs the question: Are magic beans one-time-use or can they be used many times??

There are a lot of details in this thread, “Bae IN New York?!”, percolating in my brain, plus some research I followed up on, that is leading me to a few theories. There are too many references in this thread that influenced my theories to include them here, so I want to give credit to everyone who has posted in this thread for all their work.Albums in the MM’s (aka Neal Cassady) room and a movie seem to somehow encapsulate Emma and Henry’s father’s perceived relationship.
Both albums ” The Day Everything Became Isolated and Destroyed” , and “Good bye my Coney Island baby” carry a theme of loneliness and love.
There is also a movie named “Coney Island Baby” which was filmed in Sligo, Ireland which is known locally as “Coney Island”. Synopsis:
After spending time in New York, Billy Hayes returns to his hometown.
He wants to get back together with his ex-girlfriend and take her back to America in hopes of opening up a gas station.
But everything isn’t going Billy’s way – the townspeople aren’t happy to see him, and his ex-girlfriend is engaged and pregnant.
Then, Billy runs into his old friends who are planning a scam. Here is an explanation from Wikipedia how “Coney Island” got it’s name:
Following European settlement, New York State were originally and New York City a Dutch colony and settlement, named Nieuw Nederland and Nieuw Amsterdam. The Dutch name for the island-originally Conyne Eylandt, or Konijneneiland in modern Dutch spelling perhaps named after the Conyne (Conine) family who lived in the area at the time-probably precedes the similar English name, Coney Island, with both translating as “Rabbit Island”. As on other Long Island barrier islands, Coney Island had many and diverse rabbits, and rabbit hunting prospered until resort development eliminated their habitat. The Dutch name is found on the New Netherland map of 1639 by Johannes Vingboon, which is before any known English records.
Coney Island therefore appears to be the English adaptation of the Dutch name. The word “coney” was popular in English at the time as an alternative for rabbit; while coney survives in archaic and dialectal contexts, a later adaptation, “bunny”, is now in common use. Coney came into the English language through the Old French word conil, which itself derived from the Latin word for rabbit, cuniculus. The sign “Cleaners & Hatters” implies a link to Jefferson (the mad hatter).
The monocles and clocks also are a hint to the white rabbit. The boys who talked August into leaving the foster home with them are probably the “lost boys”. Somewhere along the way, Bae probably also became one. Jefferson may have hooked up with them somehow, establishing a relationship with both August and Bae. This also may explain how August knew about Bae’s father, Rumple/Mr. Gold.
The fact that Bae went thru a portal from FTL, I don’t think he is the white rabbit per se, but instead, an allegory of the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. Further evidence that Jefferson and Neal have a close relationship.
There is much more that I could add to this theory, but I’m a bit tired right now. zzzzz
So, in a recap, I believe Neal Cassady is Bae and is also Henry’s father.
I also believe since Jefferson knew Bae/Neal, he is the one who sent the postcard.

My favorite is Emma and Snow in the nursery. Big emotional and trust breakthough for both Emma and Snow. I don’t blubber – but in this case………Least favorite, David not investigating the crypt. Especially after he saw Henry frightened by the two headed snake in the box. Surprised he wasn’t more curious since it is Regina’s vault of magic.

It is interesting that it is still there after 2 episodes. You would expect road contruction crew working on it. Something about it might show up ….. eventually. . 😮Don't grow up. It's a trap.

I have to agree with slurpeez108 and Mike. This episode was good and showed that:
Cora is a cunning Evil force to be reckoned with. Bets she goes to Storybrook with the other 4 – and if Lancelot is really alive, him too. She may be the one that creates the “portal” that allows all of them to get back.
Fully convinced Emma that FTL actually exists and that her “I can handle anything” doesn’t work for her there.
Her mother is not only a badass survivor but really is a “I can handle anything” person in FTL that Emma found out she isn’t.
Emma finally understands and believes that Mary Margaret/Snow is in fact her mother.
Emma is overcome with feeling to believe that Mary Margaret/Snow has unconditional for Emma, allowing Emma to show an emotional “crack” in her self sufficient – don’t need anybody – exterior. She is now accepting MM as the mother she spent her entire life looking for.Bonding between Charming and Henry – the (grand)son he always wanted.
Jefferson and his daughter’s reconciliation was wonderful. Gave Jefferson a reason to believe there is hope. Maybe Jefferson will now try to create a portal for Emma and Snow, since he now believes there is “can” instead of “can’t”
Regina showed real emotional joy when she thought Henry wanted to meet her for lunch. No doubt in my mind she really loves him, she just doesn’t know how to get him to love her back. (all Magic comes with a price!)
Mulan and Aurora aren’t fleshed out yet – but no doubt they will become intricately used in future episodes.
As was said, you can’t have all the characters in every episode – it would be hard to maintain a coherent storyline – there are a lot of prominent characters. Besides, each episode seems to have a theme/link between FTL and Storybrook to a particular event.
Some episodes seem to some that they are not as interesting as other episodes, but I believe they provide a vehicle for clues, hints and beginnings to major episodes in the future.
