Participanteeeeeek, for a moment there, Obisgirl’s reblog on Tumblr and Stelio’s quotes from the chat startled me š®
But everyone’s just pretty much grasping at straws now, that’s what I see. For me, the most telling is the fact that A&E mentioned seeing the deal that Hook made with Pan something that we won’t see “this year”. I REALLY doubt they mean with this the creation of a spin-off. Maybe they considered it before, but with the ratings of Wonderland, and even with the popularity of Robbie Kay and Colin, I doubt it would work (or ABC doesn’t want to risk a huge amount of money again) so whatever info is missing from 3A they’ll just use it as flashbacks in the 4th season. I’ll say it again, Matt is 100% correct on his spoilers, and he DID MENTION that the only death candidates are those 8. Adam is doing some damage control by saying that the death has nothing to do with a character leaving, and everything’s pretty quiet on the MRJ front. That Ginny pic (MRJ) is from some time ago, as the pics that she has been posting are always from some days before what they’re shooting in the present. Keeping Neal locked up the WHOLE season just for a TLK in the finale sounds a waste of a regular to me. That theory is from a shipper’s perspective – shipping aside, with a character death announced and the lack of info about his character (BTS, tweets, articles, etc), I think by now we all know who dies. Soon they’ll start shooting the finale, and we’ll be even more certain.

ParticipantYou know I’m usually very negative towards our ships, but these spoilers lately have gave me SO MUCH CONFIDENCE, you can’t even imagine. Ain’t even bothered by that review that said “Neal’s not out of the triangle yet” because they’ve only watched 3.12 while we have spoilers from paps way after that. I’ll repeat – why bother having a bonding moment between Hook and Henry if it wasn’t to build up on Captain Cobra Swan? Henry should be bonding with his father, getting to know him better (unless they want to gloss over the fact that they’ve barely had any huge interaction) Also, it seems Henry will push Emma to believe Hook in the premiere… š

ParticipantOh I read a LOT of metas, don’t worry. But what we see or want doesn’t mean it is what the writers see/want.
Anyway I think besides Emma, his journey this season is more about changing EVERYONE’S perception of him. His poster in a way, kind of indicates that right now, he loathes the fact that he’s a pirate, as that automatically makes people think bad of him (see Good Form). Don’t judge a book by its cover, believe I can be a good person, that there’s more than meets the eye, that I can change, I can be trusted. In a way it’s like he’s kind of looking down/at his hook. He’s been wondering about all he has lived until now, and the burden that he carries for being judged for being a pirate. Maybe that’s why he’s wearing the fake hand now. I wonder if there’s any symbolism in there. But even MORE symbolic would be to get him in modern clothes in Storybrooke! That’s why I kind of believe this is deliberate – as he isn’t staying much longer, so no need to spend more money on the costume department. Then again Tink is a guest star, and she got new clothes… couldn’t they give new ones to a regular one?
I see the sacrifice for love, really. I can see it being deliberate, as all his journey in a way has been kind of suicidal, he lives by the extreme – either die by his revenge, or die for love. The revenge thing is done… now it’s love. And after Tink’s flashback and the church scene… doesn’t that make you wonder? I don’t think it’s just a throwaway line.
But I don’t agree that he owes anything to Neal. NOTHING. It wasn’t his fault that Milah ran way – it was her mistake to leave her son behind. However she did want to bring him along later on, but I think that it would’ve been too late. Neal didn’t want to see what Killian told him, he was just too angry and automatically thought that he was the reason his family was torn apart. If Neal had accepted to live with him, things would’ve been different. Then again I blame Hook a bit for handing him over to the Lost Boys, I must admit. It’s not a reason to abandon a tween like that. But I guess he didn’t have much of a choice he Neal didn’t want to stay with him – after all they were all stuck in Neverland anyway.
In fact, unless the writers play the “Neal is the good guy that suffered” trope, I see it more of Neal owing Hook the chance to be in a family. Yes, Neal suffered a lot, but he had a second chance to be raised by someone that loved him (through Milah) and he denied it, once again, due to Rumple’s cowardness (he refused to tell the truth). Am I seeing too much into this? I’m not saying Neal should hand over in a silver plate his family to him, of course not. But if anything happens, he should let him be the father figure to Henry, since he was never there, although it wasn’t his fault in this case.

ParticipantI usually don’t like to come here as this forum is way too biased for my taste. It makes me feel as SF is the big ship of the series and just makes me think negatively of my ship. I mean, I was so happy to get a Hook-centric and now everyone’s saying that Hook will bite the dust at the end of this episode… even neutral fans who thought mainly Neal would die, are now thinking “wait, if we have a Hook-centric now with a pirate flashback in the middle of the WW arc, and he’s 1 of the big possibilites to die… we have our answer!”. I know we’ll have other centrics in 3B, but the timing of the release of the spoiler just gives me a bad vibe.
I guess we’ll never know until we get filming pics of 3.18. Unless, as some people are speculating, the death happens in the season finale and then anything could happen.
For me, marketing wise, his death doesn’t make any sense. RC and Lana are the big actors that atract most of the viewers, but let’s be sincere, eye candy does too. Look at the backlash of the Graham death… would they be willing to repeat this situation?! On the other hand, Neal dying would be a rehash of 2.22 because “we’ve been through this already and we’ve seen the reactions of all the characters to his death”.
I also see arguments that they’re only promoting Hook a lot to create hype for the death. Well, for me that would be backlash instead of good buzz for the series. And I’m not even being biased with this opinion. While Neal dying would create less backlash from the fandom but more consequences for the storyline. Hook is the other way around and it would be devastating for the fandom + ratings.
“Believe that a pirate can be a hero”… I’m holding on to the hope that to be a hero does not mean a hero’s death. The fact that they never gave him new clothes does sound alarming to me, after all. Storywise his death makes sense, but I wonder if ABC would stop them from doing it, no matter how much Adam claims that “we’re doing what we always wanted, no influences etc”. After all, we know ABC influenced them on keeping Charming alive and bringing in more Belle.
What do you think about the fact that MRJ was directly pitched by A&E while Hook they had to held a casting session?

ParticipantHi again,
it seems that the death scene hasn’t been filmed yet, so we’re back to square 1. The user that got inside info before and said the death is of a male character, tweeted this https://twitter.com/_KayaLina/status/426730742924976128Ā
So I still believe we could get the death in Hook’s centric… I dont’ see any other reason to give him a centric at this stage of the game, as the focus of 3B should be around the WW/Regina/Rumple thing. *shakes fist*
sakuragi_miu
ParticipantRight, but we have no info on Eion Bailey filming yet and I think he’s going to be part of the Neal arc in 3B (I really see no other reason). SO if he hasn’t been around that means Neal’s not dead yet as well.
I say this about the Hook centric due to what happened to Graham and Cora, and the fact that his hero arc still needs a big moment, an accomplishment (NOT saying he hasn’t showed this yet).
Otherwise I see no reason for the lack of Neal in this big showdown, as EVERYONE is there except for Henry and the person that protects him (Hook).
I ask again – do you think that the PA meant that the death happened already? She said she had no idea when the death occurs, but I am pretty sure that they get the scripts episode by episode…
Also, does anyone know the name of the twitter that has inside info that the person who dies is definitely a male? Thanks.

Participantemmajones that’s just a speculation article, not a reliable source. Only sources like TVguide, TVline, EntertainmentWeekly can be considered valid.
obisgirl, I agree but also that is assuming that “the thing” happened already as I stated. Do you know how the thing with PA and crew works with knowing info? š® I wait nervously for more BTS pics, and a weekend is upon us (no shooting… SIGH)

ParticipantGuys I have a question. I’m gonna post what I wrote on tumblr because it’s easier.
If Hook dies he wonāt be killed off by Blackbeard if heās a 1 ep character. This can only mean that Blackbeard will be in flashback (really, he wouldnāt fit in the arc of present day now, we have the WW!). And we assume that he could be Killyās dad.
Thatās great and all. But.
This means weāll have another Hook centric soon. Could the flashback parallel something in the present day? What if they use that parallel⦠to kill Hook in the present by ābeing a heroā?
UNLESS as Iāve said before, the death happens in 3.16, that I believe has mostly been finished this week. Letās recapitulate: according to Adam, PA and crew only know the plot when they start filming (they need it to film, of course). Last Friday, the PA knew about the death through the rest of the crew that was filming that day (because they got the script, maybe?) commented on it. Since theyāre the last ones to get the scripts, this could mean that the death happens in 3.16. The only one we havenāt seen around for a while is MRJ, although he was filming last Monday (he was in the background in the picture JMO tweeted with Josh and Rose). But since then no peep about him. There was a big showdown filmed yesterday with pretty much all the characters, except for Hook and Henry (the fireplace scene maybe happens at the same time, so we assume Hook was taking care of him). Some people say that Lana wasnāt there but others said she appeared later on, and Lana tweeted a pic yesterday as well. So everyone except MRJā¦
I wonder when weāll get more info about the Hook centric?

ParticipantSo is that Neverland spin-off happening or not? Usually if the articles give scoop like this, it probably means yes… that would mean more Hook backstory!
BUT.
How would Colin manage to film both shows? Hook is pretty much the second most important character in the story, and we haven’t got almost ANY backstory of Neverland. He’s a regular on OUAT so he can’t be away for a long time, but he could be in only some Neverland episodes, like Robin – except that Robin isn’t a regular in any of the shows (OUAT or WOnderland).
So… will something bad happen to Killy by the end of season 3? š® They could plan to off his character in the present, only to have him in a flashback spin-off. Do you think so? š
