I wonder if Belle will start to get powers while she is pregnant? (Like on Charmed, for example). That would be quite the giveaway for Rumple’s DO status, wouldn’t it? ?

I wondered this too, and also thought of Charmed: when Phoebe becomes pregnant by Cole.

“Are only evil people in the underworld? It’s like hell, right?

Horowitz: It’s not hell. The underworld isn’t hell — it is a place between. It’s the place for people with unfinished business, so it’s not about good or evil.”

    ____________________________________________________

Am I missing something?  They needed “the blood of a man who had been to Hell and back” to open the portal, twice.  It’s not Hell?  It’s Purgatory?

    In 5×11 Swan Song:

Regina: “…but do you really think that dragging her family to the Underworld is the answer?”

Hook: “This from the woman who enacted the Dark Curse to punish Snow White for telling a secret.  You of all people should know how far someone will go for revenge.  And unfortunately for you, so do all the people you’ve killed who are waiting for you in Hell.”

    —

    Snow:  “You’re going to Hell?”

    Emma: “The Underworld.”

    Charming: “That’s quite a distinction.”
Am I just being picky?  From what I remember from Greek Mythology, the Underworld contains multiple realms, one of which being Elysian Fields (pleasant), another was Tartarus (not pleasant).  Yet Rumple refers to the Underworld being torturous, making you wish for fire and brimstone.  So… someone help me out.  They’re calling it Hell, but just kidding, it’s not Hell, but maybe later it might be Hell… when they feel like it?

It’s clear that Rumple and Belle rekindled their relationship. Are you considering writing in Emilie de Ravin’s pregnancy now? Kitsis: I would say it certainly looked like they re-consummated their marriage, so we’ll just have to wait and see, but I would say you’re definitely on the right clue trail.

Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly flip anymore tables. They are really going to do it. They are going to write in EdR’s pregnancy and make *this* baby be reason that Rumple finally decides to redeem himself. Neal himself wasn’t enough. Neal’s death wasn’t enough. Belle wasn’t enough. Losing Belle wasn’t enough.Being banished wasn’t enough. Being Hat-Sucked and transformed wasn’t enough. But a brand new shiny baby…well HOT DOG!

Leave it to Cora to be the Mayor of Hell. She wouldn’t have it any other way more than likely.

It’s interesting you say that because in classic myth everyone knows that Persephone is Hades’s bride. But there’s another name for her that often isn’t used: Kore/Cora. It means maiden and it’s meant to emphasis Persephone’s youth, but count on OUAT to flip it.

Dating a god is something Cora could definetly not pass up….

I’d also thought of the Kore/Cora connection.  Watching Cora and Hades interact and banter would be a hoot.

I’m left feeling cheated and angry.  Rumple’s storyline of having to learn how to live as a man without magic and as the man Belle deserves had a lot of potential.  I was interested in watching him grow and change as a character.

Sure, I can see how they could be writing him as a contrast to Regina’s character.  One is able to continue to recover from their darkness and the other ‘relapses’ (which aligns with the addiction analogy for the power of the Dark One).  Do I like it?  No.  Not one little teeny tiny bit.  Had this season not already been repetitious (memory wiping dark curse), and disjointed (Camelot?  Where is everyone from Camelot?), perhaps this wouldn’t feel AS exhausting (who am I kidding, it still would ugh).  At the very least, the story could have built up to Rumple DO 2.0 over a longer period of time, exploring what was going on under the surface.  After this I am more relieved for a 2.5 month break than I am excited to see what happens in 5B.

Overall I feel as though the show invited me over for dinner, laid out a feast before me, gave me a couple crumbs, then threw all the food into the trash.

And then set the trash can on fire.

I thought the gathering of the DARK ONEs were like VERY TALL JAWAS from STAR WARS… hooded with red shiny eyes… they even walked liked the JAWAS.

    Liked:

    -Most of this episode

-Merlin is just so darn handsome.

    -More Greek mythology

-Excalibur was created from the Holy Grail.

-Man, Arthur is gunna be so jealous when he sees that Emma has reforged Excalibur!

    Mixed/Neutral:

-So Vortigan’s just a guy who enjoys a snazzy gold statement piece and murder.  Alright then.

    -Zelena

-Nimue’s village was named Oxleigh… because Loxley was already taken?

    Dislike:

    -Gullible Snow.

-Arthur. I just want to see someone put him in his place, preferably a liberated Guinevere.

-Merlin unwilling to kill Vortigan… but for some reason also unwilling to practice self defense.
