I hate it when a TV show changes a character halfway through. You get used to the previous actors’ way of portraying the character and then the new actors doesn’t seem to fit. I personally wouldn’t be interested. I think its just a way for them to fill in a episode or make more money. I think that Sebastian has portrayed the Mad Hatter in such as way that only he can portray him, no one else can act the way he can.
That’d be like recasting Rumplestiltskin. It just wouldn’t fly. The reason for this could have a bearing on fan acceptance though. I think fans would like to have a Mad Hatter, even if he has to be portrayed by somebody else. I’d feel that way if it were Captain Hook. I can’t imagine anybody but Colin O’Donoghue taking his part, but I’d rather there be a Captain Hook, even if it meant somebody else had to pick up the torch and run with it.
[adrotate group="5"]sarah_tnParticipantProbably not. Would a Hook spinoff if done present day, but Mad Hatter? Nah.

According to Michael Ausiello and Matt Mitcovich, There is a sizeable death in 2×16 The Miller’s Daughter, my bets are it’s Cora or Hook, probably Cora considering what Barbara Barnett said about Regina has a moment of utter happiness and a moment of utter devastation. What if both moments are one in the same? The moment She kills Cora?

If Captain Hook is the one who dies, you guys probably won’t see me on the board anymore. I know he’s just a tv character, but I’ve become very fond of him, and feel rather attached. It’s a situation where I would have been better off if they’d never introduced him at all, because Once losing Hook would destroy the rest of the show for me. I wouldn’t be able to enjoy it anymore.

I know everyone is focusing on Regina holding the heart (which could be Cora’s), but has anyone noticed what David and Snow have? Some people have said it’s a wand, but I think It’s a dagger – looks like it could be Rumple’s dagger! 😯 Snow and David must have found it before Cora and Regina managed to do so.
There’s that bit in the promo where Snow’s hiding behind a tree, and I figured she was watching Regina and Cora digging for the dagger. Dunno that Snow alone would have been able to swoop in and steal it from them though, so I wonder how the Charmings end up with it.
While it does seem unlikely that Snow took on Cora and Regina for that dagger, but that would be awesome to watch!!
Maybe Hook gets it and gives it to them. Afterall, Cora did just turn on him.Wow! I didn’t think of that! If that is how they got it, Hook had better look out because that would definitely make him one of Cora’s targets!

Yep, that’s gotta be Johanna’s heart. Regina will probably give it a lil squeeze until Snow hands over the dagger.
yes ! ok i think we close this theory ❗
how do you think they save rumple after cora and regina hold the dagger ? how they win the evil ? O:That’s not really anything I think is relevant to the question being discussed. As for Rumple, I feel sort of Rumple-logged right now. I’ll be glad when the focus is removed from him a little bit. Not for good no, but for a little while anyway. 😕
sarah_tnParticipantI’m not so sure. Personally, I feel frustrated by those. I’m a little disappointed about a few things with the storyline thus far too, so–let’s just say I’m hangin’ on. For now. 😉

Before seeing this particular picture with Johanna in the background (Lesley Nicol, Mrs. Patmore from Downton Abbey) already guessed, the heart Regina has in her hand is from someone, David or Snow really care about. Snow and Charming should be very much aware by now about what the dagger means, so it will take some threat to get them even thinking about handing it over. Had someone else in mind, but now seein Johanna in Storybrooke it looks like she might be the poor soul. It makes sense, more so because of the flashback we can expect.
HappyEndings – Yep, very sure it’s a heart, although missing the glowing red, but these are set pictures, so no CGI effects.
BeastWhisperer Agree with you. Just press the revenge button is enough to get Hook doing something. Not to mention, in the promo it looks like Hook is attacking Rumple – and should think that if Regina and Cora had his heart, they at the moment would stop him doing so, it’s not good for their plans.
Sarah_TN If it would be Davids heart, they just could make him hand it over, at least I assume that. And the pictures of the scene tell something different. Look at Snow’s body language for example: if it would be David’s heart she would show signs to be protective of him, like standing before him, not behind (instincts). And in the picture we see her shocked, David looks shocked and disgusted, no sign of pain or slightest bit of fear. Little things can tell a lot of the story. So, I’m very convinced it’s not David’s heart.
Do you think it could be Snow'sthen? Regina looks very pleased with herself in that picture.
sarah_tnParticipantI’ve been speculating it’s Hook's(explaining why he attacks David), but someone else had a good theory that suggests it’s David'sheart, so she could take the dagger.

I saw some promotional pictures at Hypable for the next episode. Regina is holding a heart. I agree with one of the commenters. I think the heart is Hook's, and it is why he attacks David. He will be Regina and Cora’s puppet, and maybe in exchange for getting info on how he can get to Gold.
I thought that the reason Hook attacked Chaerming was to get his hook back from him. I don’t really see them taking his heart because they already got all the information they needed from him before they betrayed him. I think Hook is on his own for now. Regina probably threatens crushing the heart in her hand for the dagger, because Regina has said it before that the Charmings can’t help themselves but save people.
Good points, and a good theory. I hope it’s not Hook, and I’m sure they won’t kill off David or Snow. This does present some interesting stuff, though.
sarah_tnParticipantTTPPHHHTTH! I still want for Emma to end up with Hook! 😀
