ParticipantThat’s so true, and I never even thought about it! I love you for pointing that out. š

ParticipantEpisode Note: Anyone else believe that Rumpel is probably going to die? It seems like he’s gotten worse and worse.
Favorite:
I never knew how much I missed the old imp. Good to see him, I say. Not so good to see him bleed over into present-day, but it’s good to seeĀ theĀ pastĀ imp.
I find it hilarious that Hook seems to have dismembered his trench coat, and made a vest and jacket. I’m imagining him sitting in a little room, trying to figure out how to use a sewing machine.
Lady and the Tramp reference!
Rip Van Winkle reference!
Rumpelās clever scheme with Ana. It was fun to watch he play into his hands.
Still liking Will.
Regina seems to be actually trying to help Marian.
Middle Feels:
As much as I hate how he used it, Rumpel’s hand trick is clever. Watching Hook play into Rumpelās hands was even more fun because I honestly didnāt immediately know how he was going to get him. On the same note, I do not agree with him using this as an opportunity to get out of his promise to Belle and Bae. Also, Hook had a good point. He has changed, but Rumpel seems to be reverting. So, watching Rumpel use Hook to drag him back down too, is kinda messed up.
Least Favorite:
Where’s that whole redemption thing that Rumpel’s supposed to be having? I am ever patiently waiting for Belle to rip him a new one.
Henry makingĀ someone rewrite time? He doesn’t even know what Regina is talking about. Regina didn’t read that she dies alone with 500 cats or something. She read that she didn’t get the guy. Henry is just going along with it, no questions asked. I dislike this because heās shown that heās too smart for this. I feel like if he knew the full story, heād at least try to think a bit more.
Also, pretending to get close to your grandpa because of your dead dad? Really? Are all of the remaining Stiltskins going to be surprise!evil (or in Rumpelās case, re!evil) this season?Ā Heck, Belle’s never around. Who’s knows, maybe she’s going around being a jerk for no good reason, too?
It gets difficult to feel sorry for people who don’t read a contract. I didn’t feel sorry for Ana or anyone else who met a terrible fate due to not reading the contract of a scaly, lizard-eyed man with a giggle. Ana is wrong. He doesn’t take love and make it a weapon. He takes human greed/stupidity/laziness and makes itĀ useful.
I still find the idea that loving someone else cancels out your true love for another to be b.s.

ParticipantThats actually something Rump would do I think, all just to mess with Hook and make him squirm. But with Rump being all shady, and the revelation that heās working with Snow Queen, and with Hook blackmailing him, I dont think its for kicks and giggles.
Yeah, I agree, now that I think about it.

ParticipantMaybe they’ll doĀ it humorously. I would personally find it funny if Rumpel did curse Hook’s hand, and it’s played up as if it’s a huge deal. In the end, it turns out that Rumpel did it just to have a laugh at Hook’s expense, and he’s surprised when Hook overreacts and cuts it off. (And of course it will be reattached)

ParticipantThe solution to the Robin dilemma? #OutlawGranny
I’m shipping it now. Ā This has to be the end result. I won’t even be angry. It’ll be perfect. They belong together. š
If they would stop giving RumBelle that icky good true love touch, it could be more interesting. Wouldnāt mind a more dark Belle then ā but guess that is something most of audience wonāt like, being so romanticized by the Disnyfied fluffy version of Beauty and the Beast. But Rumple is still good for some interesting dynamics.
I would actually love a darker Belle. It just feels a lot better than having her be pulled by a string. Rumpel also seems to be more interesting withĀ a stronger woman, not someone who is (I’m sorry, Belle) so naive. Someone to kick him in the pants every now and then.
I’m calling it. The best season ever with the highest ratings will contain Darker Belle, and OutlawGranny.

ParticipantFavorite:
Hook’s explanation of phones. That was by far my favorite Hook moment. He called speed dial “pressing the Emma button”. It was just too precious. I’m beginning to like Hook more than I thought I would, and seeing him not be all that flirty with Emma or any other lady for a minute was a refresher.
Emma being annoyed. I know it was written in to be a “Woah, Emma. Chill out.” episode, but Emma was really seeming to get agitated and snappy about things that I would get agitated and snappy about. It felt real for her to be this exasperated.
Will Scarlet was very good. I haven’t watched OUATW, but I really like him. He’s a sly son of a gun. I really hope he comes back. I’m genuinely curious as to how their going to incorporate him.
Though, I’m wary of the Ice Queen, I’m loving the mystery of her. I really want to know what’s up with her. I think she’s lying about being Elsa’s aunt. Especially considering she didn’t bat an eye when Elsa said her mother was dead. I’m still thinking that somehow time travel is involved in this situation. I have no other clue as to how she would know Emma (and in such an emotional way, too. Did you see her face?) , but be present with Elsa in the past. It all seems very fishy. I saw someone post that Anna is perhaps the Ice Queen and Rumpel had a hand in that. If time travel has anything to do with it, I’m still on that boat. It could also be revealed when we find that urn and reveal what the symbols mean.
In the Middle:
Ice Queen. I like her, and I’m interested to know who she is. However, I’m wary of another misunderstood villain. I want this ladyĀ to be a little bit different, even if she is misunderstood, too. Things seem to be going well. I’m just keeping my eyes open.
Rumpel’s association with the Ice Queen. I’m not going to moan about him knowing everyone. I’ve come to terms with the fact that Rumpel’s lived for centuries and undoubtedly brushed arms with the most famous and infamous of their realm. I just…hope this doesn’t go in the same direction as all of his deals do. I want there to be a spin on this, not just him being a douche. He’s supposed to start reforming himself soon. I’d at least like to see it.
Disliked:
I can’t tolerate OutlawQueen. The whole thing turns my stomach a little. Especially after seeing Marian having fun with her family, and be internally upset at her son comparing her to her executioner. It all just cements that this woman deserves a happy ending more than Regina does, and I’m wishing that the writers hadn’t completely cancelled out her True Love with Robin. It’s just unfair. Also the way that they did it: Regina and Robin making googly eyes at each other over her frozen, heartless carcass.Ā And this is immediately after seeing scenes of this woman being kind and polite and awed by her knew surroundings and the love of her family. Is this really happening? Are they really making this a good thing? The only thing that can make this better is having the story end exactly the same: Robin and Marian being together, or having Robin want neither of them, or anything but OutlawQueen. I’m sorry, but you can’t steal the happiness from someone else, especially in such a brutal way. And you can’t play it up like it’s okay. I just can’t take that.
Rumpel needs to stop lying. I thought when Hook blackmailed Rumpel his response would be “Sorry, dearie. Already rectified that situation.” But no. This scene was to show that Rumpel never re-switched the dagger. He decided to give it back, promised on his son’s grave he would, saw something shiny, and lied again. As much as I hate OutlawQueen, you can at least see Regina change. Rumpel is just not budging. The death of his son should have made him, but it didn’t.
Regina could have taken Marian’s heart without waiting for her to become a Popsicle. We all knew what she was going to do. No need to build it up. C’mon guys, why rub salt in the wound by letting her nearly die? Robin should have inquired as to why a small box was needed when she could have just held her heart, so as toĀ not nearly kill this woman.

ParticipantFavorite:
-I’m starting to like Elsa. Especially her potential friendship with Emma would be interesting. Emma doesn’t really have any friends. It’s kinda sad.
-I feel like I’m going to like the Ice Queen.
-Henry making a gift basket for Regina.
-Anna Ā is kind of humorous this episode.
In the middle (Wierd Stuff) :
-I don’t know what to think about Bo Peep.Ā I burst out laughing a lot at the concept of her being a warlord before the episode. That laughter did not cease during the episode, either. I just don’t know how to feel. On one hand, I could laugh and love this for it’s absurdity. On the other, I could say “Wow. We don’t have Princess and the Frog, yet. But we have Bo Peep the warlord being a plot point…Why is she necessary again?”
-Charming’s Daddy Story is odd.Ā Firstly, If it was anyone else telling this story, I feel as though it would’ve sent a lot more chills. Secondly, I just couldn’t help but wonder why we were getting the “cowardly fatherĀ indirectly teaches son to be cowardly ” thing again. If Neal was still around, I would see this as another parallel between the dark (Rumpelstiltskin) and light (Snowing) families. However, without anything there to make it feel more…solid, I guess, it just feels like a plotline, too strange and specific to exist here. I may be the only one, but I also liked the idea of Charming having a considerably normal, simple life that slowly had drama introduced to it. He was more relatable that way. It was refreshing.
-Snow White as the mayor is…I don’t know yet.Ā Though, I admit when she snapped on Granny, Happy and Grumpy, it was pretty funny.
Least Favorite:
-The CGI. Oh my goodness, no.
-I feel like Rumpel could have melted that ice. I mean, he knows how to throw fireballs of magic. I hardly believe it would burn Emma and Elsa alive if he did it that way. One or two fireballs could just blast a hole in the thing. This is especially because he’s a character thatĀ doesĀ have extensive control over his magic. I know it was used to further the tension, but come on.

ParticipantI know I donāt post often (sorry, but life has taken over in a good way, and so weāve been pretty busy lately), but Iām just throwing a theory out there. I highly suspect the Snow Queen is Anna, and Rumplestiltskin has everything to do with why.
That is such an interesting theory and I completely believe that.

ParticipantIāve gotten into debates on my American Girl doll groups too with people who are gloomy over how the company has changed over the years. Maybe I just have trouble dealing with negativity.
You were/are an American Girl? Me too! Though, I was only back in elementary school. I have one of the dolls and that is where I learned to sew. Sorry, very off topic, I know. š

ParticipantTo be honest, claiming they have a lack of effort bugs me as I think itās unfair to the writers who devote a good chunk of their lives to creating this show whether we like the end result or not. It sounds cocky- like saying āI could do better than thatā when writing for tv is not an easy task at all. We have no idea what the writers actually went through.
I understand that. I just prefer to claim that they are not thinking as far as they should than say that they’ve thought of everything Ā and are still making questionable decisions (In mine own eyes a,t least). I don’t mean to be cocky. But to me it feels like the difference between telling someone that they could do better, and telling them that they have done the best that they can when they’ve made an obvious mistake (again, in my opinion).
Iāve had it happen several times when Iāve just watched a new OuaT and Iām all hyped up about it, and I go online to share my enthusiasmā¦and everyone hated it! Talk about deflating the balloon! And I guess sometimes that makes me feel badā¦like Iāve been wearing too many rose colored glasses or Iām in denial or my opinion is wrong some how. So, I am sorry if I came on too strong. I donāt mean to step on any toes or imply that you shouldnāt analyze the show at all.
I get you. The same thing happened to me. The friend who got me into this show was actually the first person to turn away from it. *shrug*
No need to feel bad about rose colored glasses. They’re a part of the process. It’s just when the show removes them that problems arrive. It doesn’t happen to everyone, though. I apologize if my venting is in any way removing yours. I don’t mean to come on too strong, either. It’s just my style.
