I still wanna know what the final preparations were!
[adrotate group="5"]schmackyParticipantBeware… spoiler.
What I think is going through everyone’s brain in this moment.schmackyParticipantHenry could be a prince of another kingdom. Maybe fell out of grace or was disgraced somehow and that’s why he no longer had power. Or maybe Henry and Eva are brother and sister and Eva ended up inheriting the throne instead of Henry (either because she’s older or because he fell out of grace with the family or something).
But Cora has a serious hate on for Eva and I think it’s quite plausible they are siblings.
schmackyParticipantjust listen to Cora’s speech over Eva’s dead body and it screams that they’re sisters.
“Snow would have been a great ruler someday but that’ll never happen because my daughter will be Queen. And all yours will be left with is knowing with how I felt. How it feels to be the Miller’s daughter.”
I’m like 90% sure that Eva and Cora have the same father. The King. The King had an affair with the Miller’s wife. Hell, maybe that’s who he had really loved but he had to marry the Queen instead (as the royalty was from Eva’s mother, not her father). And Cora was born first. She, in her mind, should have been the princess and should have been raised become Queen. But instead, she was raised as the Miller’s daughter. And then her younger sister, Eva, is everything that Cora should have had.
That life was supposed to be Cora’s. She should have been Queen and her daughter should have been a princess. But, it’s too late for Cora to be Queen. But, it’s not too late for her daughter..
Cora wanted to destroy Eva and her entire line not because of some whatever vendetta when they were young. But, because Eva and her line are the rightful heirs to the throne. And Cora hated Eva more than anything.
Sibling rivalry.
Hell, it could even be that Cora knows of their relationship but Eva never did. It could be that Eva never knew she had a sister. But Cora’s mother would tell her about who her real father was, The King.
schmackyParticipantShe’s freaking out right now that she slept with a 200-300 year old guy.
schmackyParticipantShe seems to always be the victim of that particular circumstance, which is someone making a decision for the greater good and her having to serve the greater good, instead of anyone taking care of her or letting her take care of herself.
This is like the third or fourth time Jennifer has made a comment similar to this (within this year alone I think) and I’m so glad Jennifer keeps this in mind when playing Emma. Because, it’s not something that has really been explored on the show. And it should. Because, Jen is right – Emma is the continual victim of circumstance and that has gotta suck. And for a woman who already has low self-worth, this has probably got to add onto it. Because she’s got to be thinking to herself, it’s not about her. It’s never been about her.
I’m sure she has doubts where she thinks no one cares about Emma Swan, the person. It’s all about The Savior. Even her parents. Or her son. I know she knows that her parents sent her away for her. She realized this in the nursery. But, that doesn’t erase all of her doubts. Her parents sent her away because she was The Savior. Her son went looking for her because she was The Savior. Her boyfriend made decisions for her (and without her) because she was The Savior. August befriended her because she was The Savior. For all she knows, people are only nice to her because she is The Savior. But, what about Emma Swan, the woman?
And it seems like everyone important in her life makes decisions for her with that thought in mind – she’s The Savior. So, again, I’m really glad Jen sees this and thinks about it because she probably has that in mind when playing Emma certain ways. I just wish the show would explore more of those doubts Emma has.
schmackyParticipantDude, this makes me feel bad for David. He’s totally being replaced… poor grandpa. I mean. of course I want Henry to bond with his actual father and everything but David bought those swords for Henry to lift up his spirits when his mother and grandmother were missing and possibly presumed dead. That was their thing. And now, well, it’s not. It makes me a little sad for David.
Maybe in another park, David is giving Emma sword fighting pointers with real swords..
schmackyParticipantRemember, that curse has been broken but with a price. The price was that they have their Enchanted Forest personalities back, but only within the bounds of Storybrooke.
That’s not necessarily true. Magic was brought back immediately after the curse was broken so we don’t know if they would have been able to leave Storybrooke with their memories or not if magic never returned.
That’s a crappy curse breaking if you get your memories back but are stuck in a small town. I think it makes more sense if the price of bringing back magic is losing one’s memories.
schmackyParticipantTo answer the actual question of the thread, the reason Regina cast the curse was so that she could get Snow White in another land as there was a protection spell on her and David where she couldn’t do anything to them in their land.

i don’t know if the the “tree is Pinocchio” thing is real and serious or not. I can’t decide. But mostly I’m laughing hysterically.
Hehe I was totally not serious in that post…. but a part of me is. Is that bad? lol Seriously, like a tiny part of me thinks maybe it could be real. Or at the very least, a part of me thinks these writers might actually go someplace weird like that.
