Now that Emma has believed and embraced her identity as Princess Emma
I don’t think she has embraced her identity as Princess Emma yet. I think she’s embraced that she’s Snow White and Charming’s daughter but I don’t think it’s really hit her yet that she’s a princess.
[adrotate group="5"]schmackyParticipantShe was adopted as a baby. Then when she was three years old, her adoptive parents had a child of their own and returned her to child protection services (that’s so jacked up beyond words). I believe the family that adopted her was Swan (it’s not stated, that’s just my belief). And I agree with Gaultheria that she’s the ugly duckling and therefore her name has a meaning. I don’t think they’d have their main character (POV character)’s last name solely be a nod to a previous show they worked on.
schmackyParticipantThis is a quick video about how Emma’s in way over her head
schmackyParticipantIsn’t Belle supposed to be from France?
Yet here she’s apparently from Australia…
schmackyParticipantI think since she enacted the curse already then the counter to it was already in play. Kill the child, kill the curse.
Anyway someone on another board mentioned this as something Emma could have been thinking while talking to her parents and I had completely forgot about it.
August told her he came through the wardrobe with her. She didn’t believe at the time but once she believed in the curse I’m sure she would believe that as well.
Emma doesn’t know about the “one person” rule of the wardrobe (at least I don’t think so. She’s skimmed the book but I don’t think she full on read it). So perhaps in Emma’s brain she’s thinking her parents entrusted her fate to a 7 year old boy and then he abandoned her too…

I also think there is resentment. When Snow White says that they gave her up for her best chance, she counters that they did so for everybody.
Right. I think part of her feels like she isn’t as important as everyone else. Like she was a worthy sacrifice. And in a way, she was. She’s right to feel that way (if she does). But Snow and Charming are still right in sending her away as she literally was the only person to break the curse.

I don’t think it has anything to do with Snow being preggo. I think it has to do with the fact he just proposed. Even now newly engaged/married couples sometimes call each other mr. and mrs. just because they like the way it sounds. I think “family” had the same connotations in that instance.
Or it could be intent. They’re engaged, they’re going to get married, they want to have children, etc..
Or, they could be two totally different clips. He could have said “we are going to take back the kingdom” And in some other distance conversation he says something “…. as a family.” And the promotions just put it together because it sounds cool.

You are completely right. I mean, I can’t have been the only one to catch Emma’s shocked face when MM went all badass on the wrathe with the lighter and spray can.
Oh, yeah, totally. She was like “Wha? Who is this person?!” She had a similar look on her face when her dad was talking with Whale.
She doesn’t know these people. And I think that makes it all more difficult and weird. They know her. Everybody in town knows her. But, she needs to get to know all these people all over again… because they’re not the same anymore. She’s at a disadvantage when it comes to her parents.
schmackyParticipantI’m seriously surprised Emma handled it as well as she did. I mean within less than 24 hours she went from being ready to leave Storybrooke for her son’s well-being to him being poisoned, realizing the fairytale stuff and magic is real, talking to two classic characters (from her POV) about a quest for magic, watching a friend turn into wood, fight a dragon, get screwed over, her son died, came back to life, broke a curse, reunited with parents that are the same age and whom one was previously a roommate….. and she did all that without any sleep.
Gotta give the girl props and give her a pass if any of her “thinking” was “flawed.” lol
schmackyParticipantYou mean Aurora being Snow’s daughter? I don’t think so. The whole thing happening with Aurora and Mulan are happening in real time.
Anyway, the comment about Malificient going after Aurora’s mom and then her… I think in ep 2 when Regina says she was bested by that Sleeping Beauty they were referring to Aurora’s mother. I think Mal has got a multi-generational hate thing going on with that family..
