So, Emma classifies this guy as “no hero” and doesn’t think his real story is good for Henry to hear… and she obviously has issues with him… yet, he was a priest in training or going into the Peace Corps?

If Emma knew either of those things then she wouldn’t have negative feelings about him and she would have told Henry the truth about his father.

Personally, I don’t want Bae to be Henry’s father because I want Henry’s dad to be a dick and I don’t want Bae to be a dick.

I think, he’s good mostly. The only shady two things about him was he kidnapped Mary Margaret and held Emma captive, and his dealings with the Evil Queen in fairytale land.

How is that mostly good? How can one say “Oh he’s mostly good except the kidnapping, drugging, assault, threatening with a firearm, provider of poison….” Wha?

He also had dealings with the Queen in Storybrooke. Like someone already said, he knew about the apple and if Henry had died, he would be at fault for that as well.

Remember, he initially refused her request in Hat Trick but turned around and changed his mind, despite his daughter’s pleas not to leave.

The path to hell is paved with good intentions. It doesn’t matter that he initially refused her request. He still took her up on her offer… which btw, I don’t think anything was wrong with it. But, magic comes with a price, yeah? He’s a gullible doof that fell for her trick. I don’t understand while in Wonderland as Regina and Henry are about to go through… why didn’t he charge at them and go in first? hah

Why do people keep thinking Rumpel is out of the book? What did I miss?

Well, how fairytale true love works or not and Fairytale herself or not, Emma grew up in a reality where there isn’t necessarily true love and if anyone’s noticed… she’s a bit of a skeptic. So I don’t think she would have that love-at-first-sight true love.

I can see Jefferson sort of being her friend while still being on Emma’s side.

I’m not quite convinced that Jefferson would be on Emma’s side. Or, at the very least, Emma allowing him to be on her side. Jefferson and Emma may have the same enemy but that doesn’t make them friendly in any sort of way or “teaming up” or something.

I like the weird tension between them. I hope it stays that way.

So Jefferson is the child she gave up? I like that. It makes sense.

Fantasy and comic book stories are coming back BIG time and I think it’s because this world needs that escapism. The last decade has been war, unemployment, and a recession… life is dark and dreary on its own and happily ever afters rarely happen so people gravitate towards entertainment that gives them that escape. The good guys win. The guy gets the girl. The girl gets the guy. Happily ever after.

That doesn’t mean the stories need to suck and be one dimensional. For so long it’s been “in” to have stories that end too grim. Too realistic. If you don’t kill off a loving character, you’re not edgy enough. If you don’t leave the theater or turn off the TV feeling depressed, then it’s just not good TV/film. I don’t think so.

Stories that do have a nice ending are freaking refreshing. And I hope that OUAT doesn’t fall into that trap of thinking it needs to depress the crap out of their audience in order to be successful.

That doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be death and destruction and all that stuff. But, it should all make sense for the story. And I hope they don’t end anything with Emma dying because what the hell was the point and the message? “You do all this hard work, you make something of your life, you get what you want, but you’re gonna die before you can enjoy it.” ???? Nah, no thank you.

Well, this is nowhere near “amazing” but figured I’d post it here anyway.

It’s been said that the Storybrooke side of the show is Emma’s fairytale, right? You don’t kill off your fairytale princess.
