Neal said he wanted her all that time but didn’t show her that
When did Neal say he wanted her? To her? After Manhattan I mean. And when he told her he regretted it every day, the next couple of scenes were them in the warehouse, Tamara knocking out Emma, him getting shot, the portal opening, him saving her from falling, and him falling through himself. So after he actually said he regretted leaving her every day, there was no time for action.
Neal’s decisions about Tamara and Emma aren’t so black and white like it was with David and Kathryn and Mary Margaret. David knew Mary Margaret wanted to be with him but he chose to stay with Kathryn instead. Neal had no idea if Emma wants to be with him. At that point, he didn’t know if she’d forgiven him. They were so far away from the “I want to be with you so I’m going to prove it to you” stage.
Neal was in the “oh my god I’m still in love with my ex from 10 years ago who I think still hates me but I have a fiance and I don’t know what I’m doing” stage.
[adrotate group="5"]It’s very interesting that Snow and Bae/Neal have very many similarities. For one, they were both wanted. Obviously, they’re going to be wanted for different things. But I think the point was that the government was after them.
Both had to break the heart of their lover for their own good. Snow had to leave Charming so George wouldn’t kill him. Neal left Emma because August said she needed to fulfill her destiny.
They both got word of their love from a dove, of all things.
Both had tried to get over and forget their lover. Snow took the potion to forget Charming while Neal tried to move on with Tamara (another woman=this world’s forget-them potion).
They both sacrificed themselves for the life and safety of their love. Snow ate the apple so the Queen wouldn’t kill Charming. Neal let go and fell through the portal for Emma and Henry.
And both of their loves thought them to be dead because of this. Charming thought Snow was dead and now Emma thinks Neal is.
Jennifer is going to do one when she reaches 200k followers. She has three thousand followers to go.
Just want to share a vid I just made about these two.
I want them to work for it, to earn their happiness, not having it come wrapped in a box like Snow/Charming did, even if it’s understandable in their case.
I gotta defend Snow and Charming here. While pretty much right away they fell in love with one another, they by no means had their love “wrapped in a box.” They definitely had to work for it. Just the amount of times they’ve been separated and had to fight to stay together is staggering. Their love has been tested and tried and came out on top but they earned their happiness.
Snow and Charming had a lot of outside obstacles in the way of their love while Neal and Emma will have a lot of internal obstacles to deal with. Though different, I find both very interesting and entertaining.
I’m so confused. I thought the whole point of Once: WL was to be a winter hiatus show. Has that completely changed? Is it a full 22 ep order?

I’d also like to note that Josh Dallas and Jennifer Morrison do an incredible job being insanely convincing that they’re father and daughter when Jennifer is actually older than Josh.

If there’s going to be a love triangle next season with these three, the writers are gonna have to up their game and make it seriously convincing that Emma, whom just admitted her love for a man, is going to turn around and fall in love with another man and then when they all reunite be all conflicted again.
First of all, I want to say that The Portal Scene shifted my opinion on Neal and Emma. I’m a “follow the canon” kind of girl so I’ve been waiting very patiently (hah) for two things: Neal’s apology and Emma’s true admission of feelings. I couldn’t get on the bandwagon of Neal and Emma until Neal apologized and they cleared the air. It was frustrating the shit out of me that he hadn’t even said the words I’m sorry. And while I think the beach scene could have been a bit different (his apology more geared towards her pain than his), he did apologize and I do believe Emma accepted it.
I also think it was quite obvious the last few eps when she said she was over Neal that that wasn’t complete truth. At best, I think she was completely confused. So during the portal scene it wasn’t her admission of loving him that sold me that Emma really loved Neal, it was her reaction when he said he loved her. That smile. Laugh. The crying laugh/smile or whatever you want to call it. That was heartbreaking. Because that was the moment the walls came completely crashing down. I can’t really express the awesomeness of that little moment, but you get the idea…
So anyway, back to the triangle. If it goes that Emma believes he’s dead and then she starts this thing with Hook it’s… I can’t see it happening. I really can’t. Even if she thinks he’s dead. I guess it all depends on how much time passes. When we come back in S3 and it’s only been a day or something and they start this thing, it’s going to be weird. And unrealistic. Because it took Emma 10 years after Neal left her to open her heart again, to Graham. And that was when she thought Neal didn’t even love her. That was her just protecting herself. But this time, she knows she loves Neal and that Neal loves her and she’s just going to go to the next guy? There would need to be a mourning period. At least six months, maybe more, I don’t know.
So if Emma and Hook have this thing going on and then Neal shows back up… I don’t understand why there would be any tension or even a triangle. I don’t understand why Emma wouldn’t be like “So sorry Hook but OMG NEAL IS ALIVE!” Ya know? If what this show is trying to tell us is that Emma has always been in love with Neal then why would she be conflicted between a man she just started a thing with and the man she’s been in love with for over 12 years? She wouldn’t.
So I really don’t think Hook and Emma are going to have a grand love affair. I can see it being physical though. Even with Neal gone. The girl finds comfort in another man’s arms? I get it.
But, with The Portal Scene now I just don’t see how Emma would reach that level of love with Hook by the time they either reunite back with Neal or at least know he’s alive. But, if the writers do want to make it go that way, they’re going to have to step up the game and make it realistic because it will be a hard story to sell. IMO.
