ONCE - Once Upon a Time podcast
Reviews, theories, and talk about ABC's Once Upon a Time TV show
I agree with ItachiIshtar. On the spoiler pic, I counted 12 candles on the cake. Three in the middle.
They more than likely passed over Emma’s 29th birthday while they were in the Enchanted Forest. The show had started in October, it had been roughly one year… and we just watched Snow’s birthday pass which we know is in the mid of winter. Because of that, Emma’s 29th birthday must have already come and gone. Hopefully we see her 30th birthday. I wrote a small fic (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/9114168/1/Celebrate) about it when this Emma’s bday discussion was hitting tumblr a few weeks ago.
Her birthday is the 22nd.
Emma had her birthday on the 22nd, brought Henry back that night, spent the night in jail.
On the 23rd she helped look for Henry, brought him back, and stayed at Granny’s. 8:15pm on the 23rd she decided to stay and the clock moved.
12 hours ahead, it’s 8:15am October 24th in Thailand.
Emma’s bday is Oct 22, 1983
Which makes sense because in Welcome to Storybrooke the newspaper article in the morning said Oct 23 but we know the curse arrived in our world during nightfall the night prior. Emma and Pinocchio arrived in our world during daylight hours prior to the curse hitting. They arrived on Oct 22 and she was just an hour old at that point.
I don’t think she “learned’ that from Anton at all. I think that is honestly part of the reason she has kept that necklace for so long. It’s complicated why she kept it… just like the woman herself.
Yeah, August is a dumb ass no matter how you look at it.
I don’t think Emma knows anything for sure but she did give Tamara an interesting look right before she asked Pinocchio if he remembered anything.
I’m even surprised they had that conversation in the diner knowing BOTH outsiders were there. Stupid details like this annoy me.
Yes
I think Henry’s perspective on magic and thinking if he gets rid of it all the problems will go away is very simplistic and naive. But, it makes sense for an 11 year old child to have that type of perspective.
It was 1983, they didn’t have cell phones.
And it wasn’t about giving him orders. It was bout making him do it. If she told him through a walkie talkie or a radio he’d be like “err, why?” But if she forced him to do it he would just do it without really understanding why he was. Like his relationship with her that he tried to explain to Emma 28 years later… he didn’t know why he was with her.
