Sci-Fi GirlParticipant
^ Well that’s kindof what I thought, but then how did Merlin talk to Emma during the curse. Cause he was definitely in the tree then?!?

Sci-Fi GirlParticipantBut did they count the years they were frozen in time?
I don’t know. It’s just all too confuzzeling.

Sci-Fi GirlParticipantArthur said they had been waiting for ten years.
What if Merlin prophesied long long ago that the Savior and her friends would arrive “after Arthur pulled Excalibur from the stone”. So Arthur pulled the sword ten years ago, and they have been expecting our gang since then.
So Merlin could have been trapped in the tree for much longer. Didn’t someone (the apprentice?) say Merlin had been absent for “a long time”?
But of course that theory makes the movie theater encounter completely impossible! >_<
So IDK.

Sci-Fi GirlParticipantAlso, all these theories of Hades and fetching someone from the underworld makes me think of the show Lost Girl, which had a recent season entirely based on that.
It’s another show that pulls together tons of mythology. 🙂

Sci-Fi GirlParticipantAm I the only one who though this was stupid? I…didn’t get it? So RH died? And Emma brought him back? And so now the balance has been upset and the fury needs to take a life for his life? Is that what was going on? Then why did holding hands somehow make the fury leave? Shouldn’t they all be dead or something?
Honestly I have no idea, because I was too busy laughing at the Guardians of the Galaxy effect! 😆
My family has probably watched that movie 20 times by now (lost count a while ago), so we were just busting a gut laughing at this whole scene!!! 😆 😆 😆

Sci-Fi GirlParticipantI finally thought of an explanation for something that has been bugging me since last spring. We were told that Merlin bound the darkness to a person all those centuries ago. And then we were told that Merlin is the only one who can destroy the darkness.
But, if he can destroy it, why didn’t he just do that in the first place, long ago?!? That bugged me.
But now, Arthur mentions that Merlin has prophesied Emma’s arrival:
Emma: Merlin. Where is he? We were told that he’s been missing.
King Arthur: For years, yes. But not for much longer because according to his prophecy, you’re destined to reunite him with us. Now, then, if you’ll all follow me…
(from transcript)
So, theory: Maybe Merlin was not powerful enough to defeat the darkness alone. But he knew that in the future, someone more powerful would be born (Emma), and that only together could they defeat the darkness! 😯 So he bound it to a person to limit it until then, and then waited for Emma to come along and help defeat it! 😀

Sci-Fi GirlParticipantWhat a fascinating development, that the Dark One Dagger is the tip of Excalibur! 😯
But it is very interesting that the most powerful tool of good (Excalibur), and the most powerful object of darkness (the Dagger), are in fact two halves of one whole! I’m detecting a theme for this season, because the apprentice said his wand could only be used the way it was forged, “by light and dark together”. (Clearly, Merlin knew the power of combining the two. )
Maybe once Excalibur is made whole, it will bring darkness and light into balance, healing the world! Because maybe evil cannot be destroyed completely, and it will always exist in some form. But as long as it is combined with good, and the balance is restored, then the world can be whole! 🙂

I was actually starting to wonder that!

Sci-Fi GirlParticipantI’m watching! 😀
I saw the first episode, but I haven’t seen the second one yet.
I have been discussing it at my sci-fi forum, and among other things I came up with an interesting theory on game girl. Here is what I posted there:
I didn’t have a problem with the video game thing. In fact I thought it was interesting, and kinda cool!
She can’t enter any game, just this particular one. And it seems to overlap with the real world, almost like another dimension. Places and even people in the game world have real world counterparts, and vice versa! Maybe it really is another dimension, and the game on the computer is just a representation of it, a way for people to see it and partially interact with it.
But she really travels there, and if she is injured in that world she is injured in this one as well.
And her father is known to be the one who published the “game” in this world. What if that dimension has always existed, and her father adapted technology for people to interact with it through a game? Some families pass down the same power to each new generation. What if her family has been going to this dimension for many generations? And the sword may be traditional to her family. And her father left her instructions in the book, before he got captured(?) and trapped in the game.
And the gamer guy found her address encoded in the game world. If her father is in there, maybe he recently put that information there, so that someone worthy would find the clue and lead her to discover the truth, so she could go find him! It’s his way of calling for help, since he is trapped there.
SFG
^ Although, the details of her life in the real world seem a bit fuzzy. What school does she go to? She … doesn’t know?!? And she can clearly fight in the real world too, did she take martial arts training? It looked like she just doesn’t leave her apartment.
So she is not quite fully in this world either, like she is stuck in between! I wonder, could she have been born in the other dimension?
I’m probably just talking crazy now, LOL! 😆
SFG
And then my friend suggested that previous generations of her family might have accessed the world through other types of games, like card games or board games!
Anyway, I’m having fun with this theory. 🙂
If you want to read the rest of my thoughts on the pilot, here is the thread at my other forum. 🙂
