Sci-Fi GirlParticipant
They did thank you Might have to have a chat with RG & See whats up- might be Daniel’s still debugging or doing maintenance or something :/ So can you see the video now (I still cant) or can you see the link now? (I cant see the link atm) … its really weird!
No worries I’ve swapped to my phone and it looks like they are kind of working. The link just turned into another embedded video. It might be different browsers. I’m using Firefox on my computer and Dolphin on phone.
Ok, thats weird- I’m using chrome on my laptop & still cant see a thing…might try explorer & see if that works (although I hate using explorer lol)
The fix for that problem is here. (Make sure you read the third post in that thread.) 😀

edit: it’s a chrome specific problem. 😉

Sci-Fi GirlParticipantOk, total crack theory time. 😉
The hat was made by Sylar, from Heroes.
He hitched a ride when Hiro was time traveling, and they landed somewhere they shouldn’t have.
(The distant past in a parallel universe.)
LOL! 😛
Because the hat does what Sylar does. (Only with less blood.)

Sci-Fi GirlParticipantAs a German thinking about the “Sorcerer’s Apprentice”/”Zauberlehrling”(original) there are two things which came in mind. First the sorcerer is actually called “an old master of witchcraft/warlock” in the original poem, which I guess will not be important because they will focus on the Fantasia version and it seems the hat isn’t connected to witchcraft in any way. But there is something else which the poem is known for in the German-speaking area, which even the English Wikipedia article mentions:
Der Zauberlehrling is well known in the German-speaking world. The lines in which the apprentice implores the returning sorcerer to help him with the mess he has created have turned into a cliché, especially the line Die Geister, die ich rief (“The spirits that I called”), a garbled version of one of Goethe’s lines, which is often used to describe a situation where somebody summons help or uses allies that he cannot control, especially in politics.
So the line “The spirits that I called” stands for the entire situation when someone lose controle over the powers he played with or the powers he summoned. Now I’m wondering if the entire Sorcerer’s hat thing might lead Rumple into such a “The Spirits I called” situation or if the sorcerer is also the writer of the storybook Regina might get into something like that. Just a though that just came into my mind.
This is fascinating Clessidor, thanks for explaining that! 😀

Sci-Fi GirlParticipantHi!
Yeah, at least it was supposed to be disturbing. 🙄
But even though it was written to be disturbing, they still made her fall for his trickery. 😡

Sci-Fi GirlParticipant*Sorry in advance for the tangent.* 😳
You want to complain about rape storylines in a show? Try Defiance! 😯
I mean I like that show, but yikes, there are some seriously disturbing trends there about women, whether as people, in relationships, or as objects for men. And lots of actual rape backstory.
The second season even has a continuing plotline with a guy psycho-stalking a woman, and secretly tormenting her, just so he can be the one to comfort her, to make her fall for him. And it is hinted (not sure though) that he may even be her rapist from many years before, who’s face she never saw, which ruined her marriage at the time.
And guess what? By the end of the season, the woman actually starts to fall for him, and actually sleeps with him. Ick, ick, ick.
Absolutely nothing ambiguous on Defiance. 😡
(And all made even weirder by the fact that I really like the actor who plays the psycho. (He was totally sweet on another show.) I can’t quite figure out whether that makes it easier or hard to watch.) 😕

Sci-Fi GirlParticipantI think there’s lots of magic he performs by himself without actually using the dagger.
The dagger is tied to his powers, but the powers are in him.

Sci-Fi GirlParticipantWhole entire conversation disappeared I was on chat and had two tabs open one was recent spoilers and the other was the different threads, it was working fine and I could see the conversation on both pages. When I clicked on a thread and looked the entire conversation had disappeared and the last comments were from 2 hours ago. I closed the tab and left the other open, refreshed the page and tried logging in and out, nothing reappeared. I continued typing in chat and then again whatever I or the other person had posted disappeared showing the same last comments again but from 2 hours ago as previously.
I am having the same exact problem Amy.
Felie mentioned in the chat that so far, all of the people having this problem are using Internet Explorer. That might help Daniel solve it on a technical side. Or at least, some determined people could try a different browser. 🙂
