I don’t think so. The statement made by Robert Carlyle was:
Rumpel and Bae’s relationship may be in a sad state of affairs right now, but “there’s a little gamechanger” in Episode 22,
The words “may be” and “but” are keys here. I.e for now their relationship are not good but then something in episode 22 will change that i.e it will get better.

And maybe I was too harsh on my response to NONNIE but I really sensed it as an aggression.
I’m sure it’s the other way round ^^’ I think it was Barbara who said that after what will happen in the Miller’s Daughter, Rumpel words to Belle in Skin Deep will makes even more sens… So I think either way Cora played Rumpel to make him think she love him and using him to gain power (and promising him baby Regina) or liked him somehow but rejected him for greed.
It would be much more interesting and sad that the reverse.
I’m sorry to exhume that old thread but I was wondering. Why Rumpel became all gold sparkling/greenish scaled/wide eyed when Zoso looked pretty normal when he was the Dark One? Is the Dark One look something inherent to the curse person? So that maybe the look vary from each Dark One vehicle? But then why gold? What is the relation between Rumpel and gold?
