Belle hands over book: “Try not to damage the cover”
Hook: “Dealing with a hook, here.”

Neal and Belle should’ve known better with magic this serious. However I am OK with good-hearted characters having a moment of weakness. Neal and Belle when presented with the permanent separation from the people they love and the life they were supposed to have, made them go a little nutty.

Honestly though, the price Neal paid in his life is disproportionate to the mistakes he made. Yes he made a major mistake in not going back for Emma/Henry, but compared to the stuff Regina, Rumple, etc. have done, or even Snow White with the Cora heart thing, getting punished to the point of dieing without his son even knowing who he is, is a rough shake. Still, I guess that’s just how it works sometimes. Regina and Rumple’s mistakes end up getting paid for by someone else.
Also the more I thought of it the more Neal putting the key in was a big, selfish mistake. His sacrifice at the end with Emma and Rumple is a real one and a hero’s move. But putting the key in actually wasn’t. Neal wasn’t doing it to save Rumplestiltskin, who he talked about ambivalently throughout the episode (still not totally forgiving him). What Neal wanted was HENRY. And not to save Henry from anything, since at the time Henry was supposed to living a happy as it gets New York life. Neal wanted to interject himself in Emma and Henry’s life again and to get to be a father. And in the process he could very well endanger Henry by possibly giving The Dark One to Zelena, then trying to use the Dark One to transport, then going back to NY… which in other words could bring Zelena to NY… and put Henry in trouble in various ways. Along with put everyone else in danger by giving Zelena possible unlimited power in EF. To me all this is pretty selfish and a Regina and Rumplestiltskin like mistake. Neal rushing to put that key in after knowing it was a trap by Zelena was not an act of heroism, it was an act of stupidity and he paid for it. To me making him flawed at the end, makes Neal’s death more interesting.

– The Regina/Hood scenes
– Everything after Neal’s death with people reacting, sweeping score, etc. Best scene of the episode was Emma/Henry scene at the end
– Lumiere
I didn’t like
– Almost everything else. Just didn’t like how sloppy the plot leading to his death was, Zelena wasn’t as well written as normal, a little too much melodrama. Some Neal/Emma and Neal/Hook scenes that were good, could’ve been gold.
This had the same writer as Selfless, Brave & True and boy did it show. Not saying she’s worthless, she’s done some episodes I like such as Lost Girl and Tiny, but if she botched it the first time why give her another one? Anyways Once is about as consistent I’ve seen a 22 episode show be, but they still have 3 or 4 a year that are just OK and this was one of them.
shack1212ParticipantOh there’s definite reason for hope. The way they did is a perfect set-up to bring him back, sacrifice someone, make him the Dark One, or something.
The other big thing is OUAT having a happy ending for the Henry and Neal relationship, seems like something they could do
Third is that 15 episodes into the season and 4 into the half season, is weird timing to kill off someone. Especially when he’d barely appeared this half season. For a fake-out it’s better timing.
However it feels like the writers have stated pretty strongly that someone will die and it will be permanent. So my guess is this. If Neal comes back someone else will die for good by the end of S3. Which is scary because that would point to either Rumple dieing for real or Hook.
On the other hand, the writers could have a plan to eventually make Rumple sacrifice himself to bring back Neal, but not for a whilllle. Like end of the series not for a while.

I know Regina isn’t teleporting them because it’s too dangerous to land somewhere blind, ie you could end up in a tree or falling to your death off a cliff, but I must have missed the line about not using magic at all
It’s also possible that Pan can only sense that they’re using magic, but not what magic they’re using
Or of course he could be setting them all up again
shack1212ParticipantI would guess either Mulan or Ariel is gay. Tinkerbell having a Regina backstory makes me think not her, any sort of connection between Regina and a lesbian character would throw gas on the SwanQueen fire that they probably want to avoid.
Jamie Chung’s future on the show seems unpredictable, so I’d guess they go Ariel. Grew up along lots of other female mermaids, etc.
shack1212ParticipantThe ratings are scarily bad. I hate that ABC put it in that timeslot. Still ABC had 2 HUGE bombs for new dramas this fall with Lucky 7 and Betrayal that are doing quite a bit worse than Wonderland for the slots they’re in, so that helps Wonderland’s chances. Nashville also has about the same ratings as that Wonderland number but in a more favorable timeslot, plus I think at this point ABC knows Nashville isn’t going to catch on, so they may also choose to axe that instead. I do worry about the budget of Wonderland making it harder to keep if it’s just skating along.
Here’s my theory. ABC moves it to Sunday at 8 when Once has its mid-season hiatus, which was the plan in the first place before changing it to a full order. Even if the ratings absolutely tank on Thursday, my guess is they shelve the show but then put it back on when Once hits hiatus.
shack1212Participantshack1212ParticipantI’m sold on Wendy running the Home Office. Say she came back to Earth 20 years setting up the Home Office and/or looking for Bae after he got out. Great opportunity for them to age her 20 years from teenager to an adult actress, the latter more desirable for a TV show. She’s technically on the “big bad”/Peter’s side, but a more redeemable character who eventually will change sides
