Not sure if anyone suggested this yet – but what if Rumple thought he was trapping the ICE QUEEN (i.e., who I think Elizabeth Mitchell’s character is) in the urn – but really he got Elsa. He just made a mistake. I think the ICE QUEEN is somehow responsible for the blizzard during the birth of Snow (it can’t be Elsa because she is the same age or even younger than Snow White) and she is also somehow responsible for Elsa getting her powers in the first place. Elsa is definitely a misdirect, and the true villain is the Ice Queen.
Not sure if the Ice Queen is also the Black Fairy… that doesn’t make much sense to me. They never explained why when Rumple killed of Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother, he said something to the effect of “No one will miss her.” I always wondered if she was the Black Fairy or if she had some bigger back story.
I also agree with Watcher that because Marian was destined to die… she will probably die this season. I just hope they give the “Robin Hood” story the respect it deserves. Perhaps we will get some flashbacks to Robin Hood’s life with Marian.
[adrotate group="5"]sharonParticipantYou know – I’m just not buying that this was a story-decision. I was re-watching some Neal/Emma scenes…and it was so obvious they were setting it up for a reconciliation between the two.
Wouldn’t it be cool if Emma and Hook altered something in the past that changed Neal’s destiny…they just don’t know it yet? I know it probably won’t happen…but that would be cool.
sharonParticipantI hope they get into the Robin Hood/Main Marion back story…maybe it will explain Tink’s comment, “You didn’t just ruin your life, you ruined his.”
Elsa… no. idea.
Hook and Emma…just weird. Sorry, SwanFire for life. I know it won’t happen, but it would be cool if something happened while Emma and Hook were in the past that altered Neal’s destiny…Emma just isn’t aware of that yet. In any case – I’m sure there will be some additional repercussions of their adventure in the past that hasn’t been made known yet (that’s probably where Elsa fits into the story).
My only other hope for Season 4 is more flashbacks to the EF. Season 1 is still my favorite…I love seeing the actual fairy tale action.
sharonParticipantNot sure where you are going with this, but…the most “infamous” twist from the Twilight Zone is the “To Serve Man” episode where aliens came to “serve” man – everyone thought that meant help mankind – they got rid of hunger, disease, war, etc. At the end, we find out “To Serve Man” is the name of a cookbook and the aliens were really there to get some ingredients (a.k.a. humans) for their food. It’s been parodied a bunch – to include, my favorite, on “The Simpsons.”
Don’t see how that’s an OUAT spoiler though…
sharonParticipantHmm.. I wonder what would happen if Hook kissed Zelena? I know the curse was made when he spoke Emma’s name…but wouldn’t it be totally awesome if he kissed Zelena and drained HER of her powers? Poetic Justice.
sharonParticipantMore Finale Spoilers (and is that a picture of Dorothy?):
PRE-FINALE EPISODES | ABC’s fantastical drama opens its sweeps run April 27, with an episode that “answers an enormous amount of questions,” cocreator Eddy Kitsis promises. Among them: Who cast the new curse and why? And what else is Hook hiding about his remembered year? And though the Storybrooke heroes seem to have the Wicked Witch’s time-traveling agenda figured out, “There’s an additional surprise element to what’s coming,” says cocreator Adam Horowitz. “It becomes more than it appeared at first blush.” On May 4, the episode “Kansas” serves up more Oz-based mythology (and iconography) as well as introduces us to the show’s take on Dorothy. All of that, Kitsis says, “will open the door to a new adventure that leads to the two-hour finale.” Exclusive bonus scooplet: Someone you thought you’d seen the last of puts in one more appearance, and soon.
MAY 11 SEASON FINALE (2 HOURS) | The double pump of “Snow Drifts” and “There’s No Place Like Home” is “not just two episodes crammed together in one night,” says Kitsis. “It was written as a two-hour movie, and it will not only complete the arc of this season, but it will absolutely set up next season” – akin to how last May, the gang set course for Neverland. “We’re not getting on a boat this time,” Horowitz quips, “but seeds for Season 4 are planted.” As is a ring on someone’s finger. “There will be a wedding,” Kitsis affirms, adding… well, nothing. (But we tried!)

Even if she doesn’t have the slippers, she can summon another twister to take her to the land without magic. No – I still think Glinda cast the curse or perhaps it was her idea even if she didn’t cast it. She knows Emma is the only one powerful enough to defeat Zelena and therefore she had to send them all to Emma. Zelena won’t leave Storybrooke without the Snowing baby. And she even had one of her monkeys keep an eye on Emma to make sure she didn’t return to Storybrooke.
The only thing that stumps me is the memory loss. If Glinda or someone else that’s “good” cast the curse, then why the memory loss? Why not retain their memories? Or is that just an unfortunate side-effect of the curse?
sharonParticipantWasn’t Glinda the good witch of the NORTH in the original? The fact that she’s the “South” makes me wonder if Emma is the Good Witch of the North?… (kinda like the theory that Regina is the Wicked With of the East).
If that’s the case, perhaps Glinda enacted the curse to bring them all back to Emma…who is the only one powerful enough to defeat Zelena. Or at the very least…it was Glinda’s idea to reenact the curse even if she didn’t cast it.
sharonParticipantSeason 1:
– Dr. Whale is Monstro, the whale from the Pinocchio story
– August is Baelfire
– Emma Swan’s name is a nod to the Ugly Duckling story (which I still think is true).
– Future Henry wrote the book OR perhaps Henry invented Storybrooke and is actually in a mental hospital (think St. Elsewhere finale)
Season 2:
– Tamara is related to Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother who got killed by Rumple.
– Tamara is related to RH and Maid Marian
– Baelfire is Peter Pan
Season 3:
– Walsh is future Henry
– Rumple is Zelena’s Dad and/or the Wizard of Oz
– King Leo is Zelena’s Dad
– Zelena sacrificed Glinda’s heart to cast the new curse – they were actually friends (still could be true)
– Emma is the other good “Witch” (Glinda being the North, Emma the South). That’s why Zelena can’t kill her?
– Regina is the Wicked Witch of the East (still could be true)sharonParticipantNot sure if this comment fits here or elsewhere – but did anyone else think it was weird how Hook kept referring to the Jolly Roger as a person – specifically a female person?
Ariel and Smee both made comments about it too… I wonder if there’s more there…
