It’s definitely one of the main cast. Matt Mitovitch was told by Adam and Eddy that Rumple is the only one who could be ruled out, and it was between the rest of the main cast. Matt’s even got a poll up on his site, with the 8 main cast members as the only options.
Let me try again – since my last post came out so weird.
I respectfully disagree. The only thing Adam & Eddy said is the death could be any of the “regular” cast members other than Robert Carlyle – that can be interpreted beyond the 8 core characters. Matt Mitovitch came up the 8 suspects on his own. No where in that interview does it say Adam & Eddy told him it would be one of the 8 – in fact, they said “any” “regular cast member.” I think this is what it always is – a red herring. Someone may die, and someone may leave the show – but I sincerely doubt it’s one of those 8 core characters. I still think it’ll be Ruby.
[adrotate group="5"]sharonParticipantI’ve been reading all the theories regarding Hook or Neal being the one who bites the dust. I definitely follow the logic that it would be one of them in light of the love triangle. If the death truly came out of “the story” versus an actor/actress wanting to leave, I don’t think it makes any sense that either of them would die. The whole premise of OUAT is that the savior is to bring back the happy endings. From a fairy tale perspective, it seems logical that Neal is Emma’s endgame true love. Perhaps the TLK between mom and son saved the town the first time, this time around perhaps it’s TLK between Emma and Neal. Granted OUAT is known for twisting the usual fairy tales, but they’ve stayed true to the general idea of what Fairy Tale endings look like. Sorry Captain Swan fans – but they’ve been setting this up from the very beginning. Neal and Emma appear to be the end game. On the other hand, they took a huge detour with the usual character of Hook by making him “redeemed” so who knows?!
I’d like to propose that perhaps this whole death is what it usually has been – a red herring. They use the words “regular character” very loosely. I bet it’s not one of the core characters – but someone like “Grumpy” or “Geppetto.” Actually, I think it might even be Ruby/Red. They never did have closure to her character – and it’s sort of weird that she’s just not around anymore. Perhaps this will close the loop for good.

She was trapped in the bubble like Cora and Hook.
I thought it was because Ariel has been in Neverland for the past 30 odd years, and in NL, no one ages because time stands still.
But if you think about it – nobody from any of the other lands aged in the last 30 years – Alice, The Red Queen, Jafar, etc. Did the curse stop time in every land with magic? I never really understood this… She had met the Mad Hatter – so Alice must have been in Wonderland before the curse…I guess it’s possible the childhood Alice story occurred before the curse, and she met Cyrus during the curse. But still… she was like 8-10 years old when the curse struck – there’s no way she’s in her late 30s now. The timing just never made sense to me unless every land’s time became frozen.
sharonParticipantI don’t know if it had anything to do with Rumple’s DO curse. I do think the memory potion might be an issue for Pan though. He wouldn’t want any sort of clues laying around that could potentially ruin his reign of terror in the New SB.
I agree with you RG – I think killing Blue had more to do with getting rid of anyone who could restore memories. Remember there was a spoiler pic of Pinnochio’s hat… the potion was made from something from Pinnochio after he turned back into a child, right? Perhaps Pinnochio is next on Pan’s hit list…
sharonParticipantOoh I have a theory (apologies if someone already posed this theory) – I read somewhere that the death thing has been greatly “exaggerated” and, therefore, I don’t think it will stick.
I think it’s Tink. I think, just like the book, she saves someone from poison by drinking it herself and then she dies until everyone proclaims they believe in her, and then she lives again with her new wings.
sharonParticipantThe way OUAT mutilated the story of Peter Pan really, really bothered me for the majority of this season. I wasn’t sure if I could get past it. I mean – Peter Pan is supposed to be a good guy. Last season they had set everything up for Neal to be Peter Pan. Bae arrived in London in Kensington Garden. Wendy said the shadow showed up shortly after Bae showed up at their house. She wanted to take care of him like a mom. Etc. It was totally the Peter Pan story. I suppose the only thing that didn’t fit was that Bae never said he never wanted to grow up or be on his own. Quite the opposite. All he has ever wanted was a family.
I’m still tuning in to see what happens… but has it bothered anyone else how much of hack job they did on the Peter Pan story? They definitely took some liberties with other fairy tales – but not to this extent.

It’s of Ariel rescuing Snow White! I had totally overlooked it when I first read the article, but then I clicked on the link and there it was.
Ha! It was the opposite for me. I completely disregarded the article, and went right to the video 🙂
sharonParticipantAnother Sneak Peek!!!

Do you happen to remember which of the frillions of interviews that was mentioned in? I’m drawing a blank on hearing them say that.
Sorry Phee — I can’t remember… and I could be confusing it with what they said about Tinkerbell…but I could’ve sworn it was in reference to the promo clip with the Little Mermaid. They said something like “how she shows up” will be a surprise. Of course, I read something later that said despite the promo clip, she’ll actually be in Neverland… so who knows. I guess that’s why I thought maybe…maybe she has a way to go back and forth between the two worlds. Afterall – Peter can. And Tink can (maybe?)
sharonParticipantI have an Ariel theory. It seems that a lot of Enchanted Forest characters have dealt with a mermaid — Rumple mentioned it about the ink; Regina mentioned it in “Skin Deep.” The promo shows Ariel in Storybrook, but then the producers said she’ll be in Neverland. They also said she’ll have a connection to Storybrook that’s a surprise.
So my theory — I think mermaids have the ability to travel to other worlds without the need of a portal…by diving in the deepest depths of the oceans, they can reach another world. There is no way a non-mermaid could survive such a trip and, thus, everyone else needs a portal. Perhaps Ariel was preoccupied with humans enough to explore other worlds whereas most mermaids just stay in their home in Neverland? She probably has seen/visited the Enchanted Forest and Storybrook many times and encountered at least Rumple and Regina.
Perhaps she is connected with transporting things from GOAT to the “Home Office”?
