ParticipantAdult Henry in the EF obviously knows his daughter since he gave her the book for safekeeping. Whatever the thing was that broke their hovel door obviously made Henry loose his memory and be in the real world again.

ParticipantI believe that Emma (with Nimue inside her) uses Merlin’s heart (maybe with his permission) to cast the curse to get Merlin untethered from Excalibur and everyone away from whatever dire danger Arthur put them in after this episode. Nimue still loves Merlin the most.
Side note: We need a Lancelot hearing from Merlin in childhood story. Maybe Nimue was pregnant and is Lancelot’s mother. Maybe Nimue becomes a Nyx or Lady of the Lake like character. Lancelot is Lancelot du Lac.
And where was Lance this episode anyway? And why didn’t anyone mention Belle?

ParticipantMy problem is that even if the 200/500 year thing is a typo, Hook and Merlin clearly said that Merlin was in the tree for 1000 years.
500 years (200 year typo) is not a millennia.
Merlin should have drunk from the Grail around 1500 years ago, IMO.

ParticipantBut Regina in season one remembered August being there before. August could have easily added the Emma pages when Henry was a boy before Snow ‘found ‘ it and gave it to him.
August finding and separating Neal and Emma and August taking Emma to see where they came through could both have been Author functions. What he was doing in season one isn’t much different to what this Author was doing, except for intent.

ParticipantI think that this explains why Snow was so fatalistic in the pilot about the Dark Curse at the round table. I think that she didn’t feel that she deserved a different fate by that point. Only Blue arriving with the magical wood gave her new hope.
Also, IRL, ‘good’ people justify actions against others all of the time by demonizing them. People justified Slavery in the US by considering black people subhuman. People don’t want to serve gay people and are writing laws to that effect today ad calling it ‘religious freedom’. And they firmly believe that they are doing good.
In the Charming’s case, they knew it was wrong and justified it by demonizing the dragon egg.

ParticipantExactly.
The Author acted like a Dungeon Master in a role playing game instead of a neutral observer. But even in a role player game, the players have free will. They are put into situations by the DM but they choose how to react to them.
Maybe the Sorcerer is like a non-playable character in the game.. When the Heroes appear, they HAVE to provide them what they ask for. Blue Fairy is another non-playable character in the game. She gives info only when the Heroes ask directly. She never volunteers info.
I think that the Apprentice/Sorcerer and Blue have rules. They can only answer direct questions or pleas.
The Dark One and and now the Author subvert the natural order by being agents of chaos. Zozo did the same to Rumple that the Author did to Snow. But Rumple and Snow CHOSE what to do with the information.

ParticipantI don’t think that the Author has the power to supersede free will. He records stories. He is supposed to be neutral and just let stories unfold. The problem that the Apprentice had with the Author is that he was inserting himself into stories. Giving ‘characters’ information that they may not have learned naturally. Snow and Charming potentially may not have met the Apprentice if the Author hadn’t told them to go down that specific road but they still chose to take that road. The Author machinations don’t mean that they didn’t have free will. The fear in Snow’s heart gave her that bad vision. Charming didn’t have that vision. They could have not taken the egg. They could have told the Apprentice no. They could have told Maleficent what happened to the baby and that her friends were sent to another land.Basically, the Author was acting like a ‘Dungeon Master’ from a role playing game instead of the Brothers Grimm (neutral observer and recorder). But even in a role playing game, the players have free will. They just get put into situations by the DM. The DM doesn’t control what the players do.Powellfamily
ParticipantIt does explain why Rump was so invested in Snowing’s love story and why he knows Emma’s name in particular when he didn’t know which Cora daughter would be the one to cast the curse. ‘Creating the future you wish to change’ as Daniel says.

ParticipantThe tagline has been ‘Wicked vs Evil’ not ‘Wicked vs Savior’ all half season so I’m not surprised that it was Regina. The whole missing year is her living and helping in the ‘good guy’ arena. I think that her actions last episode really show her growth.

ParticipantSnow and Charming already shared feelings through their heart; when Snow ate the poisoned apple, David felt it. I’ve always wondered why their two hearts can connect. You don’t see Philora’s heart connecting.
If that had happened after the Season 2 Lake Nostos episode, I would think that the ‘Well of Wonders’ like water from it caused their hearts to merge figuratively so that that could be the reason that they could share hearts physically.
There could be a future story about why Snow and Charming’s true love trumps every other couples’ love.
