ParticipantMan,
Rumple needs some lessons from Cora and Zelena on how to impersonate people.

Participant*Reads scene from 4×11*
*cries a Trail of Tears*
Belle asked outright at the well if he was trying to get her back (the same question she had in the Crocodile, in fact), and he denied it.
He said, “It’s a bit more complicated.” I think Rumple fully intends for Belle to be his happy ending.
By being the one to give Belle her heart back, rather than letting Will, it’s almost like he’s ripping off a freshly formed scab on a wound that was just starting to heal.
Also, Rumple was extremely forthright at the well, which is all Belle truly wanted, but he knew Regina told Belle to forget. He didn’t offer any of that information to her in the scene in the Pawn shop, which could have changed her view of him.

ParticipantHe is the master manipulator and while long ago I would have thought it extremely unlikely that he’d manipulate Belle is such a manner, he clearly has no qualms about doing it now.
I hate to think it but I do think it was manipulation. Rumple wanted to be the one to return Belle’s heart. If he truly wanted her to be free of him and move on with Will, wouldn’t it have been sweeter for Will to return her heart?
edit: Sorry. Quote from RumplesGirl

ParticipantI have such mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, the idea that the “ex” has to sanction anything makes me see Feminist Red. Belle surely doesn’t need his permission to move on. It’s nice to have his understanding and his love, but the idea that the relationship between Will and Belle (whatever I personally feel about it, see below) isn’t legitimate or real because Rumple hasn’t given his okay is rather…icky.
This scene bugged for most of the reasons mentioned above. I hated the fact that they wrote Belle no dialog at all to explain her feelings on the matter. It was just Rumple giving another speech about all the things he did wrong and how he gave his blessing on a decision Belle already made without his input!
That is what that conversation was all about in my opinion: giving closure.
It was closure for Rumple, but did it bring any closure for Belle?

ParticipantIntroducing magical items into the Land Without Magic just opens up so many questions.
Curses don’t seem to work, but strong magic users can inadvertently spark a reaction. Where’s the cut off?

ParticipantI think this is Cora’s attempt to get Regina re-hitched? I’m not 100% on the timeline. (She looks like a dream!)
Snow White and the 25,000 Coats.
Really? They put a pregnant woman in an underground basement cell?
Zelena. The lying liar who lies. Who do we think she’s talking to? Regina? Rumple? The Author? Walsh?

ParticipantI may be totally wrong, but doesn’t he say “I can’t leave her“?
Robin said “I can’t leave her here.” The “here” is very important because to leave the word out changes the meaning of his statement to one about whether he is staying with Zelena, when it is a statement about Robina and Zelena’s location.

ParticipantThank you So Much @Slurpeez for that post. I’ve been trying to articulate that thought all day and you did an amazing job.

ParticipantI feel like he would still be capbable of using magic without the curse. He taught Cora, Regina, and Zelena how to use it, so Rumple must have studied it. He might even be able to tap in to light magic like Regina did without the dark curse.
Are magic users born with the ability to do magic? It seems like all of the Mills women have the ability to do magic. Ingrid and Elsa had magic when they were born. Same as Emma.
Do we think that Rumple’s family has the same threads of magic or did they only get magic from The Shadow and the Dark One course?

ParticipantRegina: Robin! Come with me if you want to live! Robin: Regina, why you being so jealous? Regina: Didn’t you hear me? Marian is dead, my insane sister has been pretending to be her all along. We have magic, people pretending to be other people is an actual thing, my mother was very fond of it. Now grab your coat and move! Robin: Regina why you lie? Stop being jealous!
This is hilarious. In the literal 5 minutes all this went down, Regina came and told Robin what was going on. He says ‘this is madness'(which is is). Marian comes back. Regina threatens to ‘rip her apart’ to find the charm. Robin, who is still incredulous and knows Marian is pregnant, tells Regina this is his new reality (cause it is…). Zelena reveals herself. Regina says ‘lets go’. Robin says, ‘I can’t leave her here because she is pregnant’.
That’s what happened.
I’m having a hard time imagining how this episode will bridge into the grand season finale. It will have to cover so much ground.
1. Emma, Lily, Regina, Robin, Roland, and Zelena need to come back to Storybrooke
2. Lily is reunited with Mal
3. Zelena is put in the insane asylum
4. Rumple gets sick
5. Lily goes on a rampage against the Charmings
6. Regina needs to meet the Author
7. The Author finds another partner
8. The Author begins rewriting? the stories.
Oh and a fairytale flashback…
