The only real break, I guess, is 4B though 413 (Unforgiven) was the first episode where we saw the Queens of Darkness trio working together in the past (with Snow and Charming)

That was my first thought as well. Which is pretty ballsy of the showrunners to crush dreams so fast in the season.
Granted I only saw the ep once but didn’t Zelena basically say she planned on going back to Oz to raise her kid alone and not be bothered by the heroes anymore.
She did, but it wasn’t for the safety of her child. Her reasons were that even though people feared her in OZ she was in control there and she wanted to take the baby to a place where it would grow to only love her.

Yeah, but she didn’t call herself Emma Swan, she called herself the Dark One.
Henry summoned her by saying “Emma Swan.” She is both the Dark One and Emma Swan.
I think this is the one situation where i would excuse the line. She isn’t saying it to Emma, but to the Dark One. She herself has proclaimed herself the Dark One and Regina maybe most of all knows what the Dark One is capable of in order to get what they want and how they manipulate everyone, even those they love – in this case Henry.
I like that interpretation but I think its important to keep in mind that Emma is still Emma. She is both. She is just cursed Emma Swan, just like cursed Rumple was still Rumple. He was still Bae’s father. She is still Henry’s mom even if she is filled with darkness, which Regina should understand.
Just let Belle take care of them if she’s going to be relegated to babysitting anyway. She was being protective of Henry and Roland throughout the episode, even though it was in the background. And between her having saved Roland’s life before he was even born and being Henry’s other other grandma…
You don’t want to know how many headcanon’s I have about Belle and the Hood boys… I’ll see myself out.
Did you get any real sense of the new characters? What is the prophecy Arthur keeps speaking of? Where is Merlin now? Is Lancelot still alive?
Once the Knights decided to keep the information about the dagger a secret they immediately became shady.
I wonder if they will have Emma remember Merlin. That might be a point of contention later on. He knew who she was and still left her to fulfill her fate as the savior. Couple that with what the Apprentice did to Lily, it creates a juicy story to explore.
That’s the same sense I get. Dark One! Emma needs Regina to take on the Savior role for some inexplicable reason.
What I was confused about is Emma’s line about how she learned from Regina not to include a savior in the curse. Pre-tty sure that was Rumple.
I rolled my eyes when Regina said “Get away from my son.” Like oh here we go with this again. Regina bby I love ya, but he’s not just yours.

Likes:
I watched the episode with my 8 year old daughter and we both enjoyed it immensely.
– Merida was a treat. Loved the story about what happened to her family. Can’t wait to see the triplets grown up.
– The Excalibur/Dark One dagger reveal was amazing and set up so many story lines and threw King Arthur into shady territory immediately.
– Henry and Roland in the diner…..like….I wanted to cry
– As much as a loathe Zelena right now, that hand chopping thing was so amazing.
– I loved Regina and Hook’s sass offs.
– The Dark Swan scene was pure gold. The way she touched Snow’s face!? Villains on this show don’t care about personal space at.all.
