Killing Zelena might not have been the “right” thing to do. But it was clearly what Rumple was going to do, for all the reasons schaendlich mentions. I love Belle to death, but I think she was very naive here. She KNOWS Rumple better than anyone, she loves him (“even the darkness”).
To ask him to simply let Zelena walk away (and eventually live in the same town, where they can have conversations about the weather “did you see that cyclone the other day?”) is simply not realistic or fair. He may be a better person than he was. But he’s been through a lot and he’s still no saint. Belle should know that simply asking him nicely to spare Zelena would not be enough.

This town could really use more than one psychiatrist! Archie’s office must have looong waiting lists.

I fully expected Rumple would kill her. He was her prisoner for almost a year and as far as we saw, he promised to kill her at least once a day, during that time. Keeping promises is ingrained in his being. (Although he’ll happily find loopholes around promises he doesn’t like). And this was a promise he wanted to keep because he blames her for Neal’s death.

That said, the way he did it was pretty despicable, even for him. That whole trust speech he gave to Belle was rude to say the least. I’m going to blame it on trauma. He has been through a lot, which is not an excuse, but does (imo) explain this moral setback somewhat.

    This is Mr. Smee.

    Like in Peter Pan.

    So you remember?

Yeah I saw the movie 14 times.

I really wonder what was going through Henry’s mind after this bit of dialogue. The boy who saw Peter Pan 14 times is introduced to a “Mr. Smee” by a guy dressed in black leather, who enjoys sailing and is continually hiding one hand… If Henry hadn’t gotten his memories back a few scenes later, I bet he would’ve had some questions.

I guess I suppose the price Snow and Charming will now pay is that they are linked with one heart and if something dire happens to one, it will also happen to the other, I don’t see that there needs to be more of a price than that if it is played out correctly.

My misgivings about the way it came about aside, I do like the idea that they’re now linked with one heart. That is pretty romantic and could be put to good use, story-wise. 🙂

    Liked:

    – Henry getting his memories back
    – Regina breaking the curse
    – Rumple’s rhymes
    – Neal sending the potion

    Disliked:

-Snow killing David. (She’d find a different way! If she was really desperate enough to do this, it wasn’t properly shown to us).
    – Belle being used as a story-exposition device. (Not just this episode). Half the time when she comes into a scene it’s to explain to everyone else what’s going on. Now I know she does research, but it’s getting a bit much.

Edit: oh right, the body switching CGI. (Thanks Priceofmagic). That also goes on the dislike list.

I think Zelena has at least a hundred monkeys by now, the way she’s transforming people left and right. She has to have that many! Her “spies” keep telling her every little detail of everything that happens.

So every time a monkey gets incinerated I imagine someone rolling a hundred-sided-die (yes, those exist) and on a 1-10 a character we know gets turned to ash. That’s how I’d do it if I wrote this show. 😉

It felt really wrong for Snow to kill David. Before tonight, I couldn’t have imagined her ever doing that. Things must have gotten pretty dire in those eight months we didn’t see, for her to even consider something like this.

Also, if she was willing to kill her husband to (get a chance to) rescue her unborn child, doesn’t that mean she loved her unborn child more than her husband? I’m not advocating baby-murder here, but I’m surprised that crushing David’s heart (which didn’t even permanently kill him) even worked. They needn’t have brought in Zelena to mess with this curse. I’d believed it if it had malfunctioned on its own!

Snow had to be part of the séance because she was Cora’s “murderer”. I think SNow was apologising more for the way she killed Cora, using Regina as a tool, rather than actually killing her if that makes sense.

Oh, that makes sense. I somehow managed to completely miss that!

Drat, now I need to find something new to criticize about the episode. Hmmm… I thought it was kinda odd that Regina was able to passionately kiss Robin without her heart. Soul-loving? Really? I guess hearts are overrated.

Maybe it has something to do with this baby being the most recent addition to the family line she wants to erase?

I’m totally happy with the way things turned out. Here I was hoping the father would be a noble disguised as a commoner. Turns out it was a commoner disguised as a noble!

I think him being a gardener was close enough to him being a stable boy (royal servant) without it being completely repetitive.
