Interesting synopsis…I’m guessing that whatever “bad” thing Rumpel does that sets Belle off has to do with Hook arriving in town. Perhaps he is still hell-bent on revenge against Hook? Seems likely.
And yea, I hope the Belle-leaves-then-comes back thing doesn’t become a cycle. We already know that she is going to be in episodes 5,6,7(…or is it 6,7,8?)…not sure, I recall someone asking the writers about Belle’s character after her being M.I.A. for several episodes. Her re-appearance might happen in episode 5 and her presence probably remain until the mini-hiatus. So it’s safe to say that Belle *probably* doesn’t leave Gold? At least not permanently…unless she leaves and they give her another role/storyline away from Gold (ouh, let the Hook/Belle crack!theories begin!) 😆
ETA: Also, it was mentioned that Belle would take a “darker” tone with her character in season 2. Still unsure of what that could mean…

I know this man being Bae is still a popular theory, but something inside me says he’s someone else. Didn’t Lana even state that this character was connected to her? She could have said Emma or Henry, but she specifically stated that the man was tied to her. Kind of another tip-off that he’s not Bae.
Bah! I want to know already! 🙄
shery0812Participantso…I’m still clueless as to who this guy might be. 😆
I haven’t been following the discussions consistently, but I do know the winning argument is that it’s Baelfire…but there’s really been no confirmation one way or another, right?
I might need to re-watch a second time, but did anyone catch any clues in the opening scenes…perhaps something in his apartment that tipped his identity off?
shery0812Participantmeh.*shrug* I suppose. Though it could be a huge coincidence. Plus, the quiver, bow and arrows are a throw-off For all we know, it could be a huge reference to Robin Hood.
I realize I’m now treading heavily on “delusional” fan territory. My antipathy toward the idea of Baelfire being Henry’s dad is so big, I refuse to believe it will manifest, no matter how many pieces of evidence are thrown my way. 😆 I guess I’ll grasp firmly to the “delusional” sign until it’s proven otherwise to me onscreen. And yes, I realize I’m probably setting myself up for a major disappointment. 😕
Oh, and I LOOOVE the first promo shot of all the main characters posing. It’s so awesome. Yay for Rumbelle. 😀
shery0812ParticipantMeh. I guess we’ll just have to sit back and wait to see what happens. I’m still clinging on to my thin thread of hope that Bae will not be the father, even though right now it’s bordering on delusional wishful thinking.… 😯
If/when Bae is discovered to be the father, I’ll find some way to stomach it, I suppose (unless, of course, they do something really ridiculous with Bae’s character, like portray him as a strong antagonist and even villain– in which case, I’ll seriously contemplate dropping the show).
I just love this character so much (which is strange, considering he was in only two episodes) but I don’t want his nobility or “goodness” tarnished in any way. :/ Poor, poor little Bae. I just want to give him a big hug. lol.
shery0812Participanthaha. No, really, it’s way too weird. It requires introducing new characters into the show that haven’t even been introduced yet/and probably might never. I have a fanciful imagination. 😛 I will just say this: I DON’T think he’s peter pan if he wound up in Neverland. 🙂
You know, after a lot of thinking and analyzing, I realized the REAL reason I don’t want Bae to wind up being the missing dad. It’s actually two-fold:
I don’t want his storyline with Rumpel to take a back seat to the revelation of being Henry’s father. I always imagined that if/when Baelfire reappeared, the sole focus would be entirely on the conflict between he and Mr. Gold. That’s what makes it juicy for me. If Bae winds up being Henry’s dad, then we’ve got two conflicts/storylines to worry about, and I’m really not keen on the idea of watching this entire family drama unfold of how Bae used to be a ”shady” guy who just now wants to reconnect with his son. I want the main focus to be between him and Gold.
Also, and this is the big one for me, I fear that introducing Bae as the long lost father will water down the conflict between he and Rumpel. Basically, I’m scared that if Baelfire is brought back as a character in need of redemption himself, then it will downplay the reconciliation with Gold. I don’t want a fluffy, simple I-forgive-you-dad-for-abandoning-me-because-I-screwed-up-myself make-up scene. No. I want angst. I want conflict. I want nasty confrontations before forgiveness and eventual reconciliation. What can I say, I’m a girl who loves her drama. 😆
So yea, that’s basically my take on the whole thing. I may be exaggerating, and deep down I do trust the writers to bring in a lot of drama and angst with Bae’s character. But part of me worries that it will all be completely anti-climactic in the end. *shrug*
shery0812ParticipantHey, all! I’m new around here and I enjoy reading all of you guys’s theories, particularly about Baelfire, a character I’m deeply invested in.
First off, I just want to say–how MUCH I loathe the Bae-is-Henry’s-father theory. Seriously, I despise and hate it so, so much. My reasons for that range from me having my own and rigid theory as to what happened to Bae, to pretty much not liking the idea of Bae being the lowlife person Emma suggested Henry’s father is.
HOWEVER…I suppose that IS where the show is headed, isn’t it? I mean, the heavy hints dropped by the writers, the pieces all fitting together, story-wise, it almost seems inevitable that Bae WILL wind up being the father. *sigh* blah…
I love the idea of Baelfire having ended up in Neverland somewhow (in fact, it fits perfectly with my theory, which is too tedious and convoluted to explain here), but yea…it also does away with that nasty time frame plothole/glitch which at this point is the only thing that keeps me grasping to the thin thread of hope that Baelfire is in fact not the father.
But I guess we shall see. I may not like how the writers end up re-introducing Bae into the show, but I’m sure I can learn to live with it IF it’s woven in intelligently and creatively. 🙂
