When Hook asked Emma to marry him, she should have rejoined with “Will you raise baby Neil with me?” omg, terrible decision.
Also, unless Rumple is just bored with the idea of being bored for 18 more years, why the heck would he drink a forgetting potion?
He doesn’t care about breaking the curse to help the curse-afflicted people, he just wanted it broken so he could cross the town line. Why doesn’t he cut a deal with the Charmings, and say, you get that portal open, and let me come through with you guys? Or just hitchhike without their consent? I don’t think we have ever seen a portal prevent hitchhikers from coming along. Heck, imaginary people from wish-realms can apparently be made real by portals!

There is actually a real simple solution here, writers. When Henry wishes his father were there Emma could just say “Baelfire is off [insert irrelevant plot point here] and even though he and I are no longer together I know he’s proud of you today, Henry.” Look, I solved it. Bae’s alive and plays an active role in Henry’s life, Emma and Neal aren’t together in order to appease the shippers on the other side of this great divide, Regina is still the one who saves Emma from the WishWorld to appease still the OTHER shippers, and Hook will likely show up in the WishWorld and make moon eyes at Emma (and vice verse) to give the ratings/ad buyers/ABC soulless vampires their CS fix and everyone leaves before Bae comes back to WishWorld Casa Charming, thus getting MRJ out of having to appear. My god. Why don’t I write this show?
And while we don’t know if this world will exist after Emma and Regina leave, even if it does, Baelfire has a built-in-reason to stay, and Emma and Regina one to leave. The same one actually. Baelfire has a son, who’s maternal grandparents just died, paternal grandparents are evil, and will soon be motherless. They could even have a touching farewell. Emma and Regina keep talking about how they don’t to orphan their Henry. While this is a version of their Henry, he won’t be completely orphaned as long as his father is around. And do Baelfire and Henry really want to immediately follow Emma, who is following Regina, who killed Emma’s parents?
sierraleoneParticipantThere has to be a reason for the scene at the start of the episode to take place with EQ at RH’s grave, talking about how she *used* to love him. I think its all foreshadowing. The fake realm being created, RH popping back up, Henry being alive in the realm despite all logic.
I wonder if this will have something to do with the two halves of Regina reuniting….
EQ starts the episode visiting RH’s grave. EQ claims she is basically honouring his memory, because if wasn’t for his death, EQ wouldn’t have been created. (That is, Regina wouldn’t have felt so badly after his death, that she wouldn’t have wished away half of herself). EQ further claims she loved RH, not loves. First of all, I don’t believe that one. We have been shown repeatedly, in many ways, that Regina feels very deeply, for example, not even removing her heart stops her from feeling and loving. Secondly, the EQ loves Henry.
So, if the EQ both loves RH, but realizes his death liberated her, what happens when that hurt is healed, or at least the grieving process completed? Even in just Regina? Is there a reason for EQ to exist after that?
sierraleoneParticipantAlso, if Henry had been born out of wedlock in the Enchanted Forest, he would have been stigmatized as illegitimate, not honored as a knight of the realm or an heir to the throne.
Well, it is Emma’s wish-world, anything goes I assume.
But even if it wasn’t, while we have heard the titles Kings and Queens, we’ve never been shown how their titles are passed. Legitimacy may only an issue if the paternity is unknown *and* relevant to a child’s status. Maternity is not in question, and the mother is a princess. It would be different if a woman was claiming to have gotten pregnant by royalty (like Cora). And, unless Neal Jr is around – and males are first-in-line, then Emma is next-in-line for the Throne(s).
(Who’s kingdom are the ruling, and who is the reigning Monarch anyways? Snowing’s Kingdom, or James’ Kingdom? Or both?).
I don’t know why in Emma’s fantasy world – outside of want to wish herself been widowed by Neal (which makes no sense, wouldn’t you rather he be alive, even if just for the sake of your son?) – why she would wish for that world to follow archaic beliefs around child-legitimacy that she certainly doesn’t subscribe to herself?
sierraleoneParticipantNo, Marian would be dead because in WWW EQ probably would have killed her.
Or Rumple didn’t let Robin get away with stealing that medicine for Marian.
sierraleoneParticipantBut the EQ still wanted to cast the Dark Curse…which she only knew about and got because of Rumple. So if Bae landed in the EF Rumple has no need for the Dark Curse and wouldn’t be making sure Regina cast it? *sigh* I don’t know. My questions are pointless and “nothing makes sense.”
Well, I assume EQ wanted to cast the Dark Curse up until the point she got banished, and it was after that that Bae landed back in the EF. As I said before I assumed she got banished before Emma grew up, to prevent her from being the saviour. Which would have undone Rumple’s plans too, even if he could find some other sucker to cast the Dark Curse Emma was un-saviorfied or something, so who would break it?
The lengths we go to 🙂
sierraleoneParticipantWell, I am just going to call this Dark Realm the Dark Chaos Realm. Chaos traditional equals bad, and order good, and Rumple description lends itself to a chaotic hell-scape.
sierraleoneParticipantI doubt it means *anything* but snakes are traditionally in many cultures a sign of renewal/rebirth, what with shedding the skin and all that.
sierraleoneParticipantIf it wasn’t part of Emma’s original fantasy, but rather a product of David’s wish, it would make perfect sense. I mean, why would Emma wish Regina gone *plus* an ageless-still-thief-Robin, or a Roland-following-in-his-father’s-thief-footsteps around? I mean, huh?
sierraleoneParticipantNot that I want want to put too much thought into it, but this is 30 years of living, no curse. Did Belle just rot-to-death in EQ’s castle when they banished EQ? Did she escape or get rescued? Did she and Rumple repeat in A.U. for 30 years what has happened over the last 3-ish years that has passed, in-story, on this show? Ugh. Is their an A.U. Gideon? And/or did they split? Whether it goes good or bad – how and at which point does someone get the better of Rumple and he ends up in the jail/psych-ward?
Oh, I had interpreted what you said as in he still wanted to perform the dark curse, not that he wanted to do so some 30+ years ago. I was sort of assuming that with Nealfire having shown up some 13(?) years ago, that Rumple’s plans would have changed regarding the Dark Curse. Just don’t ask me how Nealfire got back to the Enchanted Forest.
