ParticipantPC calls Rumplestiltskin a “scourge” in PofG. Why a scourge? Why not just a menace? I looked up the meaning of scourge and there were 3 definitions — 1) like a whip; causing pain and inflicting punishment
2) an instrument of punishment or criticism, or 3) a cause of wide or great affliction. It is hard for me to understand how Rumplestiltskin was a scourge, given what I have seen so far. He is one to take advantage of a desperate soul when he has opportunity, although he wasn’t so eager in the beginning with Cinderella, but rather warmed up to the idea given the situation and then took total advantage with an open-ended deal on her part. I wonder if she had known he would ask for her first child if she would have gone through with it. I think she would, much like the miller’s daughter in the story of Rumplestiltskin — she was desperate.
However, a scourge, seems much more widespread than what I have seen so far of Rumplestiltskin. Although, by the time of Belle, he was apparently widely known about. (sidenote: anyone else find it interesting that his price for helping Belle’s father was her, his child?) He was perhaps a bit of a scourge in the village where he and Bae lived, and everyone else lived in fear of something happening to Bae and the repercussions of that possibility.
Just an interesting and seemingly bitter choice of words, after the shared moment we saw between PC and Rumple in ALWM, I agree. I am interested as to why these writers chose that particular word to describe him, then.

ParticipantAND THE WINNERS ARE
1st – Skin Deep
2nd – Land without Magic (Finale)
3rd – The Return
4th – Desperate SoulsI saw a poll for the season on another fan site, and Skin Deep won there as well. The surprise for me was that in close second was The Stable Boy episode.

ParticipantI was going crazy with withdrwals and waiting for some news, so I developed a playlist on you tube of OUaT videos I like. I like ones that tell the different stories of the characters most, but there are a few I like because of the songs fit so perfectly or are unique. There is also a developer who has compiled videos with All the Rumple scenes, All the Mr. Gold’s and All the Evil Queen. So when I just need a “shot in the arm” so to speak I watch one of those.
I have also been coaxing my husband to rewatch episodes with me and am trying to bring him up to par by the time the season returns in the fall. Already ordered my season 1 Blu-Ray from Amazon with that amazing $15 off coupon. I think the Olympics will get me through most of July. I look forward to the DVD’s arriving on my doorstep in August so I can get one last review in, hopefully with some unedited footage, before the new season starts. I really don’t get tired of watching/listening to the dialog. ABC should consider reruns throughout the summer.
I did watch The Tenth Kingdom again. Rewatched all the movies introducing the Avengers, and have been collecting some Fairy Tale DVD’s including Shelly Duvall’s Faerie Tale Theatre to watch with the kids. Just received the Disney musical Once Upon a Matress which is a musical about the “Princess and the Pea”. Oh, and Disney released a movie a year or so ago titled Beastly with Vanessa Hudgins (a modern take on Beauty and the Beast), that my teenage girls really liked.
Of course look forward to the once-podcasts, and enjoy the forums when I can. I’m sure once Comic-Con and filming for the second season occurs, more spoilers will start spilling out.

ParticipantAfter listening to the podcast — oh, oh, oh It’s Magic (performed by Pilot)! I loved that!
If I knew how to put together a video on you tube I would use that song and show a lot of the magic scenes we saw this season — Cinderella, a working compass, the magic lamp, Jefferson’s hat, an enchanted ring, love potion, fairy dust falling on Dreamy’s egg, Belle’s kiss, Emma’s kiss, the purple cloud at the end…etc…
There are also lots of scenes with people lying down — Henry, SW, Emma — and people in the morning 😆I’m almost motivated to try to learn how. Just don’t know where to find the time right now.

ParticipantExcellent, slurpeez108!
My teen age girls found Nick Patera a few years ago, when he put out A Whole New World on you tube. I have provided that link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9-CS2v8wcc&feature=relmfuAlso, if anyone is a Star Wars fan there is no way you can pass up listening to this by Corey Vidal…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lk5_OSsawz4I have four children ages 9-21 and they have each memorized the parts and often sing them when we are together on trips. They sing through and then switch parts and sing again. They are hilarious trying to make all the sounds. It is a lot of fun… an amazing video, as well.

Pros: He would certainly know everyone’s story and this might also explain why he was collecting names in “That Still Small Voice.” He’s almost always plays everyone and rarely gets played, so he would certainly be cunning enough to make sure that Henry received the book and start noticing that things were not right in Storybrooke. Plus, it explains why his story might not be in the book.
Cons: Since the producers have stated that he didn’t get his memory back until Emma said her name to him, I don’t think he was the one behind getting the book to Mary Margaret to make sure Henry would get it.A month ago I never would have said Rumpel, but the more I think about it, I believe he at least had a hand in it being written and perhaps planted it before the curse to be found and trigger events in the “cursed” future that he knew was coming. Rumpel is the ultimate planner.

ParticipantI didn’t like Emma’s hair in the beginning, and definitely like Regina’s smart and sassy hair, very mayor-like. But by the end of the season Emma’s locks were just beautiful cascading down her back. On one thread someone mentioned that maybe she was going to be Rapunzel because it was getting so long. Anyway, by the end of the season I liked her more princessy hair best — fitting as SW’s daughter and very becoming on her.
