ParticipantI can see the possibility of this theory and will have to think about it some more.
The transcript for the Price of Gold states that they converted the mines to hold Rumpelstiltskin and that a lot of dwarf blood had gone into making his cell. I don’t understand why the mine would hold him unless it was enchanted somehow or the unmined diamonds they used to make fairy dust somehow have a magical property that could keep him from using his magic. Although the EQ visited him in the form of a mouse and morphed into Regina right there. So, how the mines rendered Rumple powerless I am not sure. I always thought it more likely that it was where he wanted to be when the curse was enacted… that somehow it would not affect him the same or something.
Somehow I seem to remember the mines having been abandoned, but I cannot find such a comment in the transcripts. Only this one about the mines being converted to hold Rumple, which perhaps alludes to them being abandoned because the dwarves were helping Snow. But I thought I heard in one of the epiosdes that they were no longer producing fairy dust. Anyone else?

ParticipantI would like to be the keeper of Regina’s ring from Daniel and if Mr. Gold/Rumpel gives Belle a ring next season, I want to keep that one too

ParticipantEven on the podcast, initial reactions they said August is dead. So, I will just go with that for now. Between the time he saw Emma last, and the breaking of the curse, he would be considered dead — no life in him. I did read in an interview with Eion Baileythat there is some more planned for next season, so I am fully expecting that he will be given life again somehow, whether through the breaking of the curse, or the magic that is coming, or the BF.

ParticipantI really like Heart of Darkness too. It was a tough pick for me in that last 1/3. I did put select two each poll, because it was just too hard to choose one.

I have been thinking Gold’s favor might also be to have Emma find Bae.
I am wondering if the magic fog will change the face of SB. If there might be a castle or different kinds of homes when the fog lifts. But I watched aPaleyfest PopSugar interview with Robert Carlyle today and the last thing he mentioned was there would probably be more of Belle and Rumple but it would more likely be as Belle and Mr. Gold. So now I’m thinking magic comes to them the way they are in SB and that they will keep their memories of FTL but have to adjust to a different venue. It is hard for me to envision though.

ParticipantI went for the more unconventional answers here. Have to admit I really liked them all. But I have read the transcript as well as rewatched The Thing You Love Most that I have a great appreciation for what was included there. It is vital to understanding who Regina is.
That still small voice was just fun for me. Loved the whole concept and discovering how Archie became Jiminy Cricket. That the crickets came to SB in the end. So I picked it just to be different. I’m pretty sure the Price of Gold will be a favorite in this poll.

ParticipantThey were all so very good. I can say that Stable Boy was my least favorite of what is listed there, but an integral part to knowing Regina’s backstory. So hard to choose.
I really liked the finale though, so had to pick that. And then I finally decided on the Stranger. I really wasn’t looking forward to finding out August was Pinnochio, but they did such a good job I ended up liking an episode i didn’t think I would, so I chose it.
Heart of Darkness, Hat Trick, and The Return though were Oh so good!!!!! Tough pick

ParticipantHands down Rumplestiltskin.
Prince Charming also because he is so brave and gallant and so not David. Loved the sword fight between him and Rumpel in the finale.

ParticipantI have to say that my emotions with several characters ran the gamut this season. I loved both August and Jefferson in their beginnings, but my feelings for them kind of flattened out more toward the end. Mr. Gold is a constant, expecting him to do what is in his interests but not knowing what that is. Regina makes a great villian. But in the end I have to say that Ruby and the revelation of her wolfishness, Henry’s bravery and consistent belief, and Emma’s journey won me over.
Make no mistake though, I think the all the characters are outstanding. They did a great job casting this show. 😀

Maybe but the past few episodes showed us that realm jumping is possible across space AND time. So Bae could have ended up in our world the same time as Emma and Pinocchio.
I guess once I realized the curse was all about finding Bae, and a “designer curse” if you will, that Rumpel somehow figured out an ingredient to have the curse take him to the same time and place as Bae. Granted it has been 28 years since they arrived in our world, so I am guessing that Bae might be in his early 40’s, 14 years older than Emma. If you go with the Bae is Henry’s father theory that would make him about 31 and Emma 17 when she got pregnant with Henry. He definitely could have been married.
