ParticipantO my goodness, after two nd a half weeks of searching for clues to this weeks episode — 4 sneak peeks and a Q&A w/ Espenson — I’m loving it!
Definitely a donkey on the paperweight — and I’m not thinking Eeyore π I have not been the biggest fan of the Pinnochio theory but I find myself very happy just to think we might be done surmising. I’m liking the turning back into wood theory, but who in the world might he be talking to on the phone that would know the truth? Maybe Pinnochio and Bae are working together. Maybe they were transported to the same place. That might explain the intro of Pinnocchio in Ep 20 π

ParticipantCould not have said it better. than slurpeez108 . Totally agree.
After watching the first 2 sneak peeks, my thoughts are that this is going to be a really good episode. In the first scene, it feels like David is finally becoming a better man by apologizing to Kathryn for cheating on her. Let’s hope it remains that way, and he’d better not fall for Regina’s attempt to seduce him. Also, Kathryn seems remarkably well-adjusted considering the trauma she must have just come out of. Could she have no recollection of what happened to her in the woods?
In the second clip, my first thought was how human and normal Rumpel’s voice sounds. He seems to have more of his humanity at this early stage. It is rather like Golem’s transition in Lord of the Rings. The longer he possessed the ring, the more the ring possessed him. I wonder if Rumpel becomes less human and more creature-like the longer he is the Dark One and the more power he gains. He was able to stop the Ogre War and save thousands of children, but acceding to Bae, Rumpel hurts people all the time. I wonder if Rumpel, in his quest for more and more power, concocts a potion which has the consequence of creating the vortex we saw in the third promo.
Usually sneak peeks come from the beginning of the episode, so I would not count Kathryn out yet. I am interested to see what happens when she meets Jim, the gym teacher, LOL. She is a prime candidate for remembering since her resolve in leaving was to find happiness. She just needs the right “trigger”. I am wondering if we will see that scene where Regina tells Rumple he “broke our deal” in this episode?
I agree that Rumpel seemed most “human” in this clip. I wonder what Bae sees that he doesn’t like. Perhaps the seduction of power — like the ring and Gollum in LOTR as slurpeez108 said. The scene starts with Bae saying he hurts people. Was that Ashley that came in the door with the food? So, Rumpel and Bae are connected somehow to Cinderella? Also, it looks as though their station in life has moved up a bit.
I wonder if they are showing that with the seduction of power comes the inability to always control the “price” incurred when using it? And I wonder if “losing” Bae doesn’t put Rumpel on the edge of his mental “rocker”, so to speak, and he beomes that more edgy person we have become so endeared to?

ParticipantOh, I didn’t say I was hoping for Emma and August. I agree with Phee: there was some intensely “mad” chemistry between Jefferson and Emma… just hadn’t thought about the possibility of the two.
Love Surayya thought too, Laughing with you π

ParticipantHey charming already had you down for Wonderland is a prison world. Are you calling anything in that last message, or just thinking out loud?

ParticipantMia you are so funny!
You made me think of another thing… no one has called the vault of hearts. I’m thinking about that. My personal goal has been to come up with one item from each character to keep for the season. I am still thinking about Regina and Archie.
I thought someone had called Regina’s office or impeccable taste in decor or something, but I didn’t see it on the first page. I did notice no one had called the mirrors. I don’t think I have anything for Ruby/Red yet, either, although I am thinking about her wolfish instincts.

The thread I started titled Breaking the Curse last week is here:
https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=609I wrote about this same concept in another thread, not either of these, and now don’t remember where… But I asked what counters a curse? A blessing perhaps. In the Bible there is a verse that says children are a blessing from the Lord. So, I think it is interesting that Emma, the child of PC and SW, has been presented as the one to counter the curse.

ParticipantAlso I would like to keep Henry’s walkie talkies

ParticipantHi weedith, haven’t asked to keep anything for a while. Here are some more ideas for people — Ruby’s glass wolf, Emma’s baby blanket, the town seal, Regina’s apple tree, Regina’s rings, Mr Gold’s gold tooth…
Just read over the list and those items came to mind.
But for me today, I would like to call being the keeper of the Huntsman’s whistle (he gave SW) and Prince Charming’s courage, integrity, and resolve.

ParticipantUPDATED π
When I first read all these new calls I thought I had missed something on the podcast last night, but listened this a.m. and Wonderland wasn’t even talked about. Wondered where the influx of Wonderland calls came from, though.Hope K&H have more Wonderland planned for next season to answer everyone’s Wonderland calls.
Taking me longer to update these days because there are so many calls I have to double check. Still may miss one here or there, so counting on you all to help me. I think I read through three times trying to make sure someone had not already called Queen of Hearts is Regina’s sister, which is now called by KalliopeKisees. Welcome to the call list
